If you are not quite as patient as you should be, then maybe you want to speed up the drying process of your watercolours and you wonder whether it is safe to use a hair dryer on your painting. Perhaps you have read that it dulls and flattens the colour or changes it all together? Perhaps all you want to do is blast it and move on - should you????
Well, this short film puts it to the test and reveals the dangers of using a hairdryer (exploding colour!), how best to use a dryer to avoid these pitfalls, is there a colour shift in a simple wash, what does it do to a mixed wash and does it impact granulating colours.
I also mention that you shouldn't hair dry masking fluid, should be careful if you have taped your painting down and urge a little caution around yupo paper.
