Hello. What is the difference between this method and pugging into the EXT IN on the side of the Portacapture X8? I would really like to know if you could answer please.

I just bought the Portacapture x8. The user manual indicates the maximum card capacity would be only 512 GB. I need more (512 BG can be too limited with 32-bit recording). Have you checked if it is possible to use 1TB or 1.5TB microSDcards (Lexar, SanDisk...) ?

I don't think you can mate, might be a multiple card situation. This is what I do at least.

I like your explanation without going to details. Instead you should have said something like connect a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the line out to camera microphone input.@@TASCAMUSA

My Purple Pandoa mic have 3 notches in on the 3.5mm male jacks and do not work when connected to the X8 in this manor. Given this information what is the best way to connect them?

Hello! The three notches indicate that it's a TRRS cable - which is fine, that just means that the cable will send audio both directions, not just one way (which is how most cables work). Are you connecting the cable to the EXT IN port on the side of the unit, or removing the built-in mics and using that port?

Yes you can with the right cable. I plug in a sampler to mine. Use manual.mode to adjust levels.

can i connect 4 powered lavaliers with the rode VXLR+ adapter to the XLR input Channels?

Hello! This is not something we've tried before. However, considering you could send power to lavs across the the 1/8" connection, you could power at least two with that adapter. Maybe we'll look into this and see how many we can get to function with connections of this type!

@@TASCAMUSA Hello, I answer myself I can connect the 4 XLR inputs with the VXLR+ adaptors 3 with the Boya BY-M1 lavaliers and 1 with Rode Videomic, without activating any phantom power verything works perfect, even the internal mics and the mix

Hello! Yes, that is absolutely possible! On the Portacapture X6 you'll need to plug the lavalier into the Ext In port on the side of the unit, then enable PLUG IN POWER from the I/O SETTINGS menu.

@@AradioCardone there are adapters like that out on the market, but we can't vouch for their quality. A lot of those products require 48V phantom power to operate, which the X6 has available on the XLR inputs.
