Good information. A lot of the "oversized" baseplate issues you mentioned with the Enigma with much smaller guns/holsters is also an issue with many hybrid holster brands such as Alien Gear. I personally tried to use an AG hybrid with a PPK-sized clone and it just added WAY more bulk than necessary compared to the lengthened and wedged Vedder I ended up using with that gun instead I 100% agree that the keel principle is super important to both comfort and not printing of the grip. You will need a WHOLE lot more belt tension to bring the grip in without enough keel and the muzzle will dig in anyhow but harder with more belt tension dialed in. Longer keel, less belt tension needed, less muzzle dig-in pain and more comfort all-around. A longer DIY wedge can be wrapped around the bottom of the holster to further lengthen the keel as well as pad against muzzle dig-in. The downside of doing this is that it tends to block off airflow through the holster at the muzzle end and this may cause moisture retention issues and thus more rust issues.
Great tips! I have an LCP and the OS enigma. Constantly impressed with the setup and concealment. I look forward to trying a larger 9mm at some point as I can see what you’re saying about the lack of a quarter between the grip and the faceplate.
I lost interest in tiny guns when I started carrying with my Floodlight; that holster conceals so well that I don't see a need for a gun smaller than a Glock 19 anymore.
Not related to the video, but I guess I figure I’ve got a decent chance at a response on a newer video, and it’s not a super serious or frequent issue. I have a Enigma standard with a custom holster and I’m looking for advice with regards to the latch bit on the leg leash, sometimes my phone or the holster itself will poke the latch bit and then it comes all undone, which has caused it to be dangling out of my shorts a few times. Definitely not ideal in public as I want to ensure that my setup is completely unknown. Don’t think this is an Enigma problem though, probably more like a problem with MY setup of it, and I know there’s always good ways around minor issues like this. Tips from anyone are welcome :)
@@jalakor 99% of the time, this is caused by the leash not being fully snapped. The snap is often tighter than people expect and it results in incomplete fastening. Make sure to watch the instruction video for that on the website, ensure that it’s actually fully snapped, and if that doesn’t solve it, contact us for a warranty replacement.
