Love the advice you are giving to Joe. After watching Thor prep for strong man and now AWPR, being at your best come comp day requires restraint. Thor rarely ever looks like he is near his limits. Always something left in tank.

Joe really improved alot on his deadlift. I remember him hitting 910 lbs which is a milestone for any bodybuilders especially when these guys are training for esthetic , being always conscientious of their diets aa well. Larry is also a freak of nature considering he is on HRT and lifting similar weight and volume as Joe being way more enhanced than Larry. Both Larry and Joe in my books besides Ronnie Coleman are the strongest living bodybuilders alive hands down!

Super inspiring watching u lift I am on 200kg on straight bar 5 weeks into training consistently after a 3 year break, watching you ndo champ, Ronnie Coleman, Tom platz and all the other legends makes me know for sure there’s much greater limits to reach💪🏾✅

Man touching 765 on the deadlift is impressive but pausing with 765 is absolutely ridiculous. You’re a strong dude keep it up and you’ll hit 1000 no problem. Great video.

@@MightbePettingmyCat I'm sure after Shaw finishes up his last season with WSM and the Shaw Classic(since he's retiring), that he'd probably be much more open to do such a collab. Right now though he's heavy focused in training for his last go at things.

Yeah for sure. Crazy how much weaker he’s gotten going off full blast. I remember him doing 765 by 10 or something insane like that with Levan and some other guy. I’m glad he’s healthier now though.

I have the versa grips and i loved them, but the last couple times ive used them ive noticed they hurt my wrist a lot. I havent used them since. Would love to try the ones Larry is using to see the difference, i just dont see how they work since you cant tighten them.

I remembered Joe saying " he eats 3x meals before he trains".. I usually trained 1st thing in the morning with no meals... I tried the 3xmelas before training... hella pump and stronger during training session.. felt like King Kong/Juggernaut! i dont plan on doing that all the time but definitly something i will incorporate...Im like lLarry im in bed at 10pm... very strict training regime, sleep, diet etc

I tore my quad and it won't heal.. I'll think I'm okay but then if I get extra aggressive with weight lifting or just heavy Athletics all the sudden I feel that little tweaking my leg reminding me and it's so depressing.. I didn't let it heal properly when I first tore it and I just kept fighting it without going to get help, I never did get help but I eventually identified what the problem was once I had the big sausage blood clot in it... I know you're not supposed to massage it or anything like that when you first tear it but should I start massaging it since it's been over a year?? If anyone has any feedback that would be appreciated, thanks..

When I tried to see how much I could deadlift years ago for fun a few times the skin and joints of my hands were my primary limitation. I tried different grips and levels of strength, but my hands would start to tear or the joints and ligaments would get crushed. I naturally have high levels of muscle tension and terrible cardio. I used to do timber framing work and I could lift a ridge beam off from a sawhorse enough to move it around within a very small range of motion. I still can’t fathom the amount of weight that I could manage to budge into motion and neither could anyone else including the forklift. How do I keep my hands from imploding?

15:37 looking down was the cause of him losing his momentum. When lifting, focus on a point and do not look away from there. Looking at other areas can cause distraction. "This only applies to heavy lifting"

Joe is a cool dude. The only arm-chair feedback I'd give is to move over the bar a little bit and use more leg drive like Larry started doing after meeting Jamal Browner. I also noticed that I was leaning back in my deadlifts, but after switching to using more leg drive ( like a Bulgarian split squat) getting it off the floor was much faster.

@@henryg3702 That was one of the other reasons I did it. I have anterior pelvic tilt, so my lower back gets really inflamed during squats and deadlifts, but making the change allowed me to go through my deadlift sets mostly pain free.
