Holding my stuff before max lift sessions for sure. Yesterday I did max deadlift super super easy, I was disappointed how light it was. I will hold my stuff for 7 days before my next max deadlift session for another 1 rep max - I don't want to miss that lift. I'm on my first 4 week program of my life (1 week of rest, 3 weeks of progressively heavier lifts - volume is low) - so far I've improved my deadlift max 4 times, if next weekend goes as planned, my old 1 rep max will be my warmup. Holding it in maybe a superstition thing, but I recommend it. Edit: I don't recommend people max out on deadlift this often. I hear the rule is to max your lifts only every 10-14 days, I do it like every 3-7 days in this program because I'm in a rush (I'm being stupid). Don't get injured folks, wish me luck I don't get injured lol.
