Hosting FIFA is more economically viable than hosting the Olympics, also the western media will act like vultures if India hosts the Olympics while football is a common man's sport, they can't complain about poverty when most people who play football are poor & some of the greatest players in football come from such regions, we also have the necessary infrastructure for football.

Non primary host to host the world cup started from 2002.. 2002 host by japan and south korea.. 2010 host by south africa.. Those 2 are not primary football playing nation in those time..
Japan and Korea were Asian giants back then. They were always in top 50 ranking. India is ranked outside 100. Also Japanese and Korean infrastructure is world class whereas Indian is comparable some African countries

And considering India’s capacity to hold a big tournament like Fifa World Cup? Yes they can. As India spent 7.5 billion dollar on 2010 commonwealth game. Considering Indian has a higher economic growth it’ll surely be able manage the costs by 2034 or 2038. Only question is, will the football develop in India by that time to perform at the level of World Cup?
Still using cricket stadium for football will not place us to develop in football... I think our mentality is wrong we shouldn't only promote cricket because we are good at it we need to start looking for all round aspect. Also didn't you know that a current u11 team are selected for 2034 wc project.There is so much investment going into that certain group. Trained to play with older and senior teams of various clubs plus winning various trophies as well as international trophies starting from that age group. the current investment value of football in china is greater then in india now i know the whole india vs china thing but most europeon teams want to concentrate their investment in china due to economy look even i don't like china but that does not hide the fact that has the largest economy in the world and due to manfucturing resource it amounts to up to 20% of the world gdp and then their is a investment standpoint we have extremely low investment in football compqred to china as they are currently doing a great deal to improve youth football which is the basis of any footballing clubs and leagues

One Very important factor is to qualify for world cup and played in atleast one earlier WC. Host nation is automatically qualified so there shud be a standard for host nation in football as well.
Today hockey World Cup is being played in India, I can say 90 percent of India may be unaware. Why people from India Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh etc have made cricket it's religion? British taught soccer, hockey and cricket. India adopted cricket its passion. Simple reason is it's a game of convenience. It requires skill and little fitness and stamina. In cricket if you cannot bowl fast like Brett Lee become Ashwin and Bhaji. Even Inzamam ul Haq types can become world champs scoring tons. Running between the wickets you run in your own timing, in Fielding you chase the ball in your own timing. In batting ball comes to you. There is never toe to toe neck to neck competition. Whereas in games like soccer, basketball, track and field etc you require enormous amount of speed, stamina and fitness. Opponent stretches you in all these parameters. To beat Maradona you have to beat him not only in skill but also in terms of speed, stamina and fitness. So is with Bolt, Micheal Jordon, Micheal Phleps, Nadal and Federer etc. It's an attitude. IF MONEY AND INFRASTRUCTURE ARE THE ONLY REQUIREMENT THAN PEOPLE FROM INDIA, PAKISTAN, SRILANKA AND BANGLADESH ETC SETTLED IN US, ENGLAND AND EUROPE would have played soccer and other games which are popular there. Who cares for cricket there? But there also they play cricket only. Today football and hockey are played only in villages. Cricket is played in cities and towns. Indian cricketers cannot be compared to even state level footballers in terms of speed, stamina and fitness. India Pakistan, Srilanka Bangladesh etc are zero in other games can never be a sporting nation. Japan and Korea may be geographically Asian, but they have the attitude to compete with the best in the world be it technology economy and sports. Today they compete with top footballing nations and Europe in soccer. Make their presence felt.

Bro our stadiums are no where closer to worldcup level and we don't even want to play football. Our fellow countrymen will hype cricket up and watch sattebazi ka dream land ipl. We don't even have ground level infrastructure to develop players as a result even after hosting the U-17 world cup there's no improvement. I've been to yuvo bharati stadium to watch and support the men in blue. But believe me it's pathetic and self torture to watch em play. If someday India qualifies for worldcup by themselves and hard work then only it'll help us. And if we get a chance by hosting the world cup it'll just be harrasment and if we play against teams like Spain, Brazil, Argentina ,France god knows how goals we'll conside. We love you man....North east is rhe integral part of India....and i always admire north east people and sports person...they always bring pride for our country by winning several medals....football is not different...now a days there are so many talented footballers coming from north east regions....and don't say that govt is not giving priorities to you....yes you can say the same about previous govt...but this govt trying hard to bring north east region to main stream....and one thing it will take some time....

China already started building world class stadiums for FIFA to recognize them for 2034 WC. India still haven’t even taken a step to plan the build.
