Why Indian Footballers Should Play Outside
In this video we discuss, why top Indian Talents and Footballers should quit their comfort zone ISL / I League and consider playing outside of India to improve football in Indian.
If you consider the top talents in the country right now such as captain Sunil Chhetri, Bhaichung Bhutia, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and upcoming young talent Ishan Pandita, most of them have experience of playing in foreign leagues. It’s because it gives players more exposure and helps them develop better than Indian Super League which is seasonal.
With ISL still lacking with a lot of modern day football infrastructure and European Dream being far from reaility, is it time for players to look at Asia’s Best Leagues such has Korea, Japan and Qatar?

obviously indians should start playing countries like Japan, South Korea, Iran, Qatar, Soudee leagues so that they get to know better about how asian teams are and improve a lot. Also head coach gets desired results and ranks can be improved. Akash is not playing J2 league. Talks broke down. Its hard for Indian players to get into A-league or J-league, K-league, etc. Clubs from these league also needs to be willing enough to sign Indian players. Regular Asian Cup appearances will help Indian players chances of going abroad

I want ISL's duration to increase & a hard salary cap should be put in place so that a few ISL teams doesn't start to dominate the league & make it boring like the European leagues. Boring in the sense that in almost all European leagues, the winner is almost always the same, rest are just for the number.

I doubt if you have ever watched Prime Serie A, or EPL in the 2000s. Also it is not all about the winner, the race for top 4, top 6,conference league spot and the battle for relegation are very interesting to watch.

@@ayushmaangoswami4238 No, I haven't watched these Leagues in 2000s. But I wish I could've witnessed that 2004 UCL run to FC Porto LIVE. It's like a dream come true to see a non Top 5 league club to win the UCL. I just hope, I'll get to watch a UCL final where the winner is not from the Top 5 European Leagues. Ajax got very close in 2017/18 & I really enjoyed that season but after that, it's just the same old, same old.

Just bring in more teams and divisions to improve the sport, if a Indian player can play 45 to 50 games a year then they might be able to compete with the bigger Asian teams firstly then we should invest more on scouting and build youth and jr youth divisions who are also involved in at least 30 to 40 games a year.

Just one thing, I am pretty sure, from this season onwards, ISL is the 1st Division, I League is the 2nd Division, I League Second Division is the 3rd Division and followed by State Leagues. On Top of that, Promotion across the structure will be implemented from this season onwards. And Relegation after couple more years.

It's about intensity and incentives. If you have it here, you can also reach a high level. For that you have to measure everything - infra, training, nutrition, match frequency against international benchmarks. Remember, Pele mostly played in Brazilian clubs.

Abroad Jana kaun Nehi chahega! Jhingan tried his best to join any club from Europe but he fails...he joined a Croatian club one year back but could not play a single match. Even Sunil Chhetri couldn't find any chances to play for Sporting Lisbon. He came back to India with a loan deal. Only Gurpreet Singh Sandhu plays some matches in Europe, even in Europa league. We have to develope our football first. Otherwise no one can play in Europe or Other Asian countries.

Firstly: Indian players should play for foreign clubs. ✅️ Secondly: India needs 3 tier league systems, which is 20 teams per tier. Thirdly: Home/away games for the whole year. Just like European leagues. Fourthly: No limit for foreign players in ISL. Just like ELs. Fifth: Make your neighbors grow by forcing them these 4 rules above. Or play in another association like ASEAN, East Asia, Central Asia, etc.

Overall, I would say the biggest problem in India is the quality of coaches at the grassroot level. My son 8 year old plays football in Barca academy in Mumbai. He’s been playing since he was 3 years old. The coaches don’t focus on fitness. In fact there is no fitness-related workouts done to increase stamina, speed, strength etc. The sessions start with some warm ups followed by a game. That’s it. So these young players are just playing matches during training sessions. No physical exercises, no non-dominant foot training, no skill-based training (like dribbling, dodging, tacking, high kicks, lofts etc.). They just give the balls and ask them to play a match with the idea that while playing matches they will automatically learn. That’s a false notion.

They should definitely move abroad. If they played with experience players then only they will be able to understand strength and weakness, where they actually stands. Afterall, infrastructure and support of the audiance also matters alot, which is very minimal in India when it comes to football. In my opinion India being a diverse nation. football association should select the top players from each state and build a team of Group A,B, and C collectively and send or trained them accordingly. Politics should be completely abolished in football team selection and those top select player from each state should be trained with good quality coach and as always should send them to Asia league to improve themselves. This is my thought on this topic. We should treat this game under fair and capabilities condition rather than political agenda.

Good indian youngsters are getting decent pay in isl. Thir life is comfortable. No relegation. 4 out of 11 qualify for playoffs[6 out of 11 from this season]. So no pressure. Foreign is tough. Difficult to get into uk. So language barriers will be there. Added to that is food, climate, pressure from fans. So many aren't Taking that bold step. Especially to go to Japan, Korea, lower divisions of Europe.

My coach used to say study there is no career in football in India. And guess what he prooved it right by his actions as he took every document from us for registration in league and after I contacted him for infos. He said I or we were late to register, so our team can't play in league. So I asked what now ? And he said there is nothing untill next year so as I told you don't rely on football. And what people want is India to play FIFA World Cup and win it and want Indian players to play in foreign clubs. Truth - Majority of Indian public love Cricket more than Football that's why in India there is always more to provide to Cricket but not Football. Nothing but Shame 🙌🏻

Ever heard of I-league? If we add the top teams from I-league we will have a proper league. But FSDL will not allow it. They want them to pay a franchise fee if they were to play in ISL. This is the only thing which is stopping our growth.

We have enough teams to create 4 tier system acting like a pyramid with 20 teams in each division. Germany, England, Spain, France etc... have not become football powerhouses with 11 teams in their top league.

Do you know sir Ji that we India have football jewels like Sunil Chetri who have scored international goals equal to that of Great Messi but unfortunately indian media is the hardest enemy of football otherwise 135 crores people of India know that achievement of legends Chetri . We have Gurpreet Singh like players who impressed foreigners .

@@kesarsingh2981 no doubt Sunil sir is a great, but he had his chance with sporting Lisbon and as did gurpreet . Being third or second highest active international goalscorer is matter of pride but we need to be realistic as well 🤗
