I bought this for the price nothing comes close at this price the 9.1 is better I played around with the Samsung over priced the Bose I even tried the 5.1 with upfiring speaker it was good but didn't come with sub woofer the best value is 5.1 for best sound experience 9.1

I bought the JBL 3.1 with the 10” sub like 3/4 years ago , powerful sub but the only downsize is sound-bar lacks mids , when watching tv shows and movies you have to have the remote on hand because you constantly turn volume up and down ,annoying and it ruins the experience, if they fixed this issue on the 5.1 and 9.1 , I may upgrade soon , great review btw .

Yes, there is an app controlled equalizer that lets you change the bass, mids or treble to whatever you want.@@aleksandernovak2541

Hello, regarding the HDMI connections, am I able to use a cable box with this soundbar? It looks like I can connect the cable box to the soundbar hdmi in and then connect the soundbar to the tv using the arc hdmi. Is that correct?

Just switched from a Samsung soundbar to the JBL 500 and there is no comparison. The JBL is just so much better than my old Samsung in terms of sound quality and fullness.

True that was the point of replacing the Samsung. The Samsung price equivalent the Q700 is 200 watts less total power so the JBL seemed like a better choice. I'm quite happy with the sound. @@TotallydubbedHD

Just went from JBL 2.1 to the 500. Huge difference watching movies. Much deeper bass on lower volume.

Just bought myself this, saved £100 through student discount 😉 if it’s anything like JBL’s portable Bluetooth speakers the sound will be amazing! EDIT: Having watched this, perhaps it’s not the best option.. what would you suggest out of this, the Denon S517 and the Samsung Q800B? Price aside, what would you say gives the best experience for films and music? Thanks!

Depends on the budget. Sennheiser Ambeo is the best I've come across in a soundbar system.

Yes it will without issues. Just that you won't get uncompressed Atmos.

Q800B. Just bought it today from Croma. While the sub of the JBL is powerful, it lacks in the overall sound coming from the bar. Compared them both side to side, for about half and hour. And for Indian homes, Q800b is a better option.

Just got it and its not that good...the Denon bar itself sounds much better..this one is harsh sounding..and also the Pure Voice doesnt work..i saw on Reddit other people have the same problem..shame on JBL.. IMO

@@TotallydubbedHDI got it to sound a bit better..but after the new update Pure Voice doesnt work..i talked to JBL they said an update is coming in a month or 2.. Also told them the App should have the option for Pure Voice and Smart Mode...

Hello, we appreciate you reaching us about your inquiry. The 500 got an update that does not enable PureVoice. We received feedback that this is something to work out and we will be fixing and releasing a new update that will allow the functionality of enabling/disabling Pure Voice in the next few months. The update will be coming within 1-2 months
