I had the catching problem with my Flare. I replaced the leaf spring for the trigger with a real spring. Did that by snipping off the leaf spring and adding a screw to keep a REAL spring in. Spring rests on the plunger tube.
Excited to see both of these blasters on can it take a K26. As a comparison while not a K26 spring (or K25 as you ended up going with), we've used a Blasterparts Magnus upgrade spring in our Heavy SR and got up to around 90fps and was a super easy swap that dropped right in. Just double checked and it looks like Out of Darts normally stock that spring if anyone is interested. We haven't opened up our Flare, but it still is pretty good stock which was a surprise. Now we just need some Accustrike mega to try to hit stuff. 😀
I didn't realise the flare had that much pop in its stock configuration! I've considered using it as a special objective macguffin thing for various games, and I think I might also double it as a backup blaster in emergancies.
I doubled the stock spring of the Heavy SR with a 5kg Retaliator spring and it chronoed at 90. That was without the barrel, so pretty similar to what K25 gives.
That sr without the barrel is like a mega retaliator, I like it. I might need to keep an eye out for this longboi when there's a sale going on. Would be nice if hasbro sold those mags seperately. For the next episode, how about the xshot crusher?
Got a Heavy SR a bit ago, and I have so many mixed feeling about it... On the one hand, it CAN take K25, but the trigger pull becomes so stiff that the extra performance isn't really worth it in my mind. Not to mention, as much as the scope and bipod are meant to be cartoonish and silly (which I love), they are EXCEPTIONALLY useless. In the case of the bipod, I genuinely don't think Nerf has ever made a worse bipod on a blaster. It's flimsy, and doesn't give you enough room to pull out the magazine when in use. It just really makes me feel like the blaster costs far more than it should given the quality of the components. As for the scope... I actually really like the scope. It's massive, cartoony, and just... fun. It's so much fun. Not to mention, unlike a lot of other Nerf scopes, you do get enough of a sight picture through it to be able to aim through it, thanks to it being so cartoonishly large. Might not be recommended, but it's fun! The problem with it is actually a problem with the jam door. Because the scope is SO large and SO close to the blaster that you can't actually open the jam door with the scope attached. A realization that was so baffling to me I had to wonder how on earth it made it into the final design. But it does also mean that if you want to use the scope on another blaster, that is the kind of thing you need to consider. On the note of the jam door actually, I can't help but feel like it's caught a bit of Elite 2.0-itis. It's cheap, flimsy, noticeably lower quality than the rest of the blaster, and doesn't even want to stay shut most of the time. Which kind of makes you circle back to what I mentioned earlier: how on earth does this blaster cost so much when they cheaped out in so many places? It's a fun blaster... it really is! And we need more magazine-fed Mega blasters in the hobby... it's also arguably the BEST official Nerf Mega magazine blaster, as the Motostryke had feeding/pusher issues that kinda crippled it, and the Centurion... well, that was a full laundry list of problems. But this does feel like the closest we've gotten to a properly functional mag-fed Mega blaster from Nerf! ...Which just makes it so infuriating that they cheaped out so much in some very noticeable places. Gah, I love this thing, but man does it test it....
Tables! I love tables. Very easy to drive, (contrary to popular belief, they are quite stable actually), easy to carry, and doesn't taste too bad. Tables.
For the sniper sans barrel the Ultra 4 spring works great or nestling a takedown spring in w the stock one.. both in the 80s w mega accuatrikes. Maritime Foam has a great lock delete/spring upgrade video.
The MEGA SR with K-25 is the closest thing in NERF we'll get to an Anti-Material rifle(Barrett .50 is designated an Anti-Material Rifle). Big caliber, not the most accurate, but can definitively knock down a Shield or barrier with a few good hits.
I bought the flare gun sometime back ago and it's a bit different from that one. The "Hammer" is grey, the body is a less bright orange and it came with accustrike darts
Hey captain Xavier I haven’t watched your videos in a while but I recently got back into nerf and started watching you again. But I just wanted to apologize for something I did a couple of years ago, I commented something on one of your videos that you specifically said not to say, you replied and you were obviously annoyed and I continued to be annoying. But I’m sorry for what I did and I’ve matured more and have realized what I did was childish and rude. But I love your videos and hope you do well and thanks for helping our hobby grow
Captain.... can a mod be to powerful for some darts? I have two adventure force 6 shot blasters with k25 springs in them.... no air restrictor, brassed cylinders and a padded plunger head. On the first shot it makes a nasty sound against a cinderblock wall.... on shot two the darts seem to fly out of control... yet straight sort of... if not with a little spin
i think it would be pretty cool if seal improvements were implemented for some of the blasters because in some cases its more important than the spring upgrades.
Could you do the conquest pro, trailblazer (I know it won’t take 26 and it’s essentially a hammershot) accu rival blaster, and some of the buzz bee blasters from last year?
Hey capn, i looked at the playlist for this series and episodes 110 to 116 or at the bottom of the play list, so you have 109 going down to 1, then goes 110 to 116
Hey cap! I tried what you recommended for the heavy sr and upgraded the catch spring and it catches, but now it won’t release . Do you think I made the catch spring too strong?
think you can make a vid on how to properly repair a nerf modulus longstrike? I tried putting it together after having to take it apart because of a jam I got and the bolt doesn't work anymore. it just pulls back and goes forward like it's a semi auto, no pressure, cannot fire
so ive got to ask (and yes, ive seen the primer and HvZ advice videos) but your personal opinion on the SR as an omega marksman primary has me curious. i personally think that with the upgrades, maybe brass in the barrel if its possible to find brass in a diameter that would work and teh spring with accufake ammo, it may be a top shelf pick for omega squaddies who want a long range primary. also, as a mega tertiary for infantry that needs it, where would you rate the flare gun when compared to other single shot mega blasters like the fortnite hand cannon, big shock and hotshock? i really like the flare gun's form factor and think its shape will make it a bit easier to carry but the handcannon really fits well in the hand and teh massive prime handle (the entire top slide) makes it easier to prime at heavier loads due to more grip surface. i know its up to me but im curious about your opinion on these in terms of auxiliary loadouts.
Personally I would not use either as there are far more effective options with much more efficient form factors. But everything you said is true so they are not bad options, just not the best options.
@@CaptainXavier agreed in all honesty. While i do think the SR is the better of the two, a megaburn tuned to 110 fps may be better (if it can even get that low, ive never owned one)
Have you tried actually reaching out to him with details via, I don't know, any of the various contact methods provided in the video description...or are you going to stick with weird and slightly creepy role-playing comments on an unrelated video...
