@@cookliet8444 Honestly, I never seem to think in the right language 😂 I'll be talking in one and lose the word but know what word I'm looking for in the other even if its not a "sentiment lost in translation" word. Any advice, one bilingual to another?
Such a bilingual mood! When I first started learning English, there were areas in my life where I wouldn't even need to used it, so I didn't learn certain nomenclature until later in life.
@@nataliahassan1920 well the best way is to watch more videos in the language that you are learning. The more listen to the language the more you think in it. At least that's my experience.
@@trinhvietanh9521 My problem isn’t that I don’t think in a language it’s that I think in different languages depending on what I’m thinking about or who I’m with. I speak 4 languages fluently and occasionally will lose a word and know it in all the others and then remember it after it’s no longer useful to the conversation
I dunno bout y'all, but I'm just GLAD that Jasmine cruised through this one. Woman deserved a break! And I loved seeing her flex her skills for the world to see. Well deserved! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Please never discontinue this series!! The chemistry between everyone is sooooo charming! Everytime they laugh or smile it's impossible for me not to as well. Can't wait to see Rie try this with Jasmine!
To be fair, there are a lot of similar sounding words across east Asia (and some in Southeast Asia) that primarily originated from Chinese. Jasmine knows a bit of each language, so it'd be easier for her to guess a word if it's similar to something in the other languages she speaks.
It’s more fun watching someone who has a little understanding of the language and is trying to comprehend the instructions, rather than plain guessing 😆
I love this collab!!!! Rie and Jasmine have such a great friendship! Also, I’m convinced that jasmine is secretly an under cover spy agent who actually speaks every language!
Jasmine and Rie both have the most bubbly personalities as chefs and friends! More vids including them Please but this time, Rie makes recipe in Jasmines’ Chinese or Korean.
Loved the chawanmushi bowls! Where did they come from? Also, I would love a series with Rie where she teaches you how to cook in Japanese, but explaining the basics and the Japanese terms for things/processes
This is so fun and it’s so wholesome to see them connect in a way through a different language and making connections with both their knowledge of different languages!
I am smiling + laughing the whole time, I thought Jasmine + Katie + Kelly combo would only make me laugh like this but Rie + Jasmine is on another level. 😂
As someone who knows a few Japanese words & phrases from watching lots of anime….. I enjoyed watching this very much. Please do more of these. Thanks 😊
By guesswork based on Sino-Japanese kanji readings, Japanese food and cooking terms, cooking logic and the already known numbers, she's done perfectly.
Man, Rie and Jasmine have got mad chemistry! They're so good together. And they're crazy beautiful on top of that. Rock on ladies! Looking forward to more!! 😄😄
I love these two together you guys should give them their own show/ series permanently ❤️❤️❤️❤️ They are so funny i was laughing with them the whole time they are so great 😃
I really love this video! It helps me recap my basic Japanese that I just finished learning in school! Can we have more of these please 🥺 also love the chemistry between you two hehe, with love from Singapore 🥰
Something I really liked about this episode and I think would be a lot of fun for future episodes between these two was Jasmine identifying words based on Mandarin equivalents or by foods she's seen the words used in before. I really enjoyed hearing her verbalize her thought process on how she figured out what words meant. I know some of the understanding came from "logical next step" like washing mushrooms followed by stemming and slicing, so a slightly more difficult recipe would be a lot of fun, I think.
Jasmine speaks mandarin and she knows a bit of Korean. You could really see how this helped her in this challenge. As a foodie and a language nerd, this was fun to watch. Switch it around for next time!
See theres a song of bts known as run and they say "Dashi, Run Run Run " and in like a lil bit japanese its like "Broth, Run Run Run" that part got me killing 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣💜
I'm surprised Jasmine didn't get it after seeing the serving bowl, I don't eat that much Japanese food, and I barely eat chawanmushi (I don't like the texture that much) but I immediately got it when I saw the serving bowl. Its such an iconic shape.
I was always confused because in Chinese, Pak is a more southern Chinese spelling last name but she speaks mandarin, which is usually northern. It makes complete sense that she’s Korean.
