Today Mimo teaches Rie how to make her favorite food from Ethiopia. The catch? She can only speak Amharic, one of the languages of Ethiopia. Do you think Rie will succeed only using 3 life lines?

It’s a refreshing sound to hear other than the world’s most widely used languages like english, spanish, mandarin, japanese, arabic, etc. Edit: thank you so much for all the likes! We Arabs make this every year at Ramadan. In my country we call it 'سمبوسة' Sambusa but it is popularly known as Samosa. But we make the filling with chicken, beef and potatoes and seeing lentils was really unique, I really love it.

Love this! Sometimes I feel like this challenge is too “white person laughing at someone else’s culture” for me (I’m sure they don’t mean it that way at all, the vibe is usually just wrong for me personally) but Mimo and Rie feel a lot more like an authentic exchange of cultures (talking about home, tradition and languages etc). In Pakistan and India there is similar type of dish by the name of Samosa, either with lentils, grounded meat( any kind like chicken , Mutton, sheep or Beef , mix vegetables or only Potato*( Most famous and liked in both India and Pakistan). Moreover I discovered many similar words in Amharic, Arabic, French and Urdu like Hamsa (5), Sambusa (Samosa) and Shoorba (Gravy/ Curry) . This dish is especially being made in holy month Ramadan among mostly Muslim specially in Pakistan or Might be in other countries too I may not know but would certainly do figure it out in comments. Most importantly I am introduced to to Amharic language for the very first time , I really appreciate that. And last but not least this time I really loved the last note { Ooh Yess }.
