Is the appearance of fine-tuning in the universe simply the result of chance? If there are an infinite number of universes in the “multiverse,” would one of them end up looking fine-tuned like ours? Does multiverse theory explain away the appearance of cosmic fine-tuning? In this clip from J. Warner Wallace’s longer talk on the existence of God from the fine-tuning of the universe (based on his book, God’s Crime Scene), J. Warner describes tackles a common objection to the appearance of fine-tuning.

Hahaha good point! Thumbs up for that! :D As a physicist, few points to take about multiverse: 1. There are only three explanations one can think of to explain fine tuning: luck, multiverse, and intelligent design. 2. Multiverse is theoretically possible, but, as Jim said, no, not logical. It is a fun theory to think about, but we have absolutely no evidence to either support or disprove it. Maybe never will before the end of the world. So we have no idea how likely we are to believe such a hypothesis. 3. On the other hand, we have an infinitesimal probability to believe we exist because of luck. The only explanation that has a non-trivial probability to believe in is that there is a designer. 4. It is safe to say there will be a population (I can not say how many, but am curious if anyone actually does a survey) who accept multiverse hypothesis because they know luck is out of the window, yet reject the hypothesis that there is a creator.

I tend to think that Michio Kaku is the 21st century’s version of Eric Von Daniken, I do really enjoy science, Astronomy, Quantum physics anything like that, I saw this guy on a documentary once several years ago, he seemed very credible, but in recent years he’s become a bit of a sensationalist! Just like EVD when he wrote Chariots of the Gods in the early 70’s. The only true scientist you can trust is God Himself, the first ever scientist! 🙏🙏🙏

This question of the multiverse has been answered conclusively by Dr. Stephen Meyer in his book, Return of the God Hypothesis. In Chapter 16, he points out that an inflationary-string multiverse (the only kind that skeptics can posit to seemingly account for the fine-tuning of our universe) - this multiverse itself must be extremely fine-tuned (in its universe-generating mechanism) in order to exist and to produce multiple universes, which are necessary in order to seemingly account for OUR universe’s fine-tuning as if it arose by random chance. However, this won’t work because the multiverse itself requires extreme fine-tuning to begin its production of universes! Therefore, whether it’s to account for the fine-tuning of our universe (Meyer, Chapters 7, 8, & 13) OR to account for the fine-tuning of a feasible multiverse (that could hypothetically account for the fine-tuning of our universe), an intelligent Fine-Tuner or Designer of at least one universe, and possibly of a multiverse, must exist! (Meyer, Chapter 16) In essence, a Creator God must exist; there are no realistic alternatives, as long as we precisely follow the details of this evidence. The only way to avoid this conclusion is to NOT follow the evidence where it leads, in terms of its details. This is one of several reasons why I, a former atheist, am now a believer in the Christian God, which makes the most sense considering all forms of evidence.

God doesn't exist within universe. Even if you had multiverse, God would still by definition exist beyond it..

1/ infinity =0. This can be checked out at any mathematical website. William lane Craig Discusses the contradictions of infinities. Hilbert's hotel is an example. Also, One divide infinity is 0. So one fine tuned universe in infinity is 0 odds. Any number fine tuned universes divide infinity is 0 odds. 1/ infinity =0. This can be checked out at any mathematical website. It's impossible to get a fine tuned universe in an infinity of universes because because infinity always wins over a finite number.

To make the selection bias work the Materialist has to assume Materialism is wrong about minds being wholly a product of a particular universe because this precludes the selection mechanism. Of course the interesting thing is that Materialists intuitively understand that minds are different than other phenomena and are something that could experience this universe or that in principle rather than simply be something that happened to happen in a universe. By appealing to the weak anthropic principle they are unwittingly denying Materialism.

What about the infinite number of universes where there are horse like animals that are pink and have a single horn on their head? Of course even though they are pink we can not see them because they are in another universe. Thus the theory entails an infinite number of invisible pink unicorns.

Yes! I've been saying to them that if all possible universes exist, how did they just not prove the existence of God??
@reverendrv151
@reverendrv151 4 года назад
And if they say 'all possible universes except the one with God'; then they can't believe in the infinite. One person I listen to advocates that in another universe, perhaps turning on the lights turns something into gold. I commented on his RU-vid, why didn't he just prove 'to himself' the existence of God then? Especially when he accepted all possible universes exist; even fantastic ones...

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater, use their beliefs against them; Christians have been doing this since Paul encountered an idol dedicated to 'the unknown God'...

You are assuming that when they make the claim of infinite, they are intelligent enough to understand why they are toast. Here’s another thought. In a multi-verse then there must be a scenario (or infinite scenarios) where there is a God Jesus claim. Well since ours is the universe where the claim is made, they have not avoided God. Amen.

Eddie Boggs Not sure. I suspect they may respond to you and say they don’t say creation, they say evolution. But then we’d end up at the question, “Evolution from what starting point? There has to be something in existence for that thing to evolve, no?”

It would be wrong interpretation on Calabi-Yau manifolds, which are told as multiuniverse.

Even Dawkins says the multiverse is not the best explanation, but its better than a fine-tuning.

That just goes to show you how biased he is, a hypothesis which has no supporting evidence is better than a hypothesis that has supporting evidence. It is hard to take seriously, someone who thinks this way...

There is an infinite number of numbers, only one is equal to 2. Having a collection of an infinite number of things does not mean that there is an infinite number of any given thing.
@renancunha4799

The argument is not about identifying a number but ascribing properties that can exist in a set of infinite universes. They aren't the *same* universe. But they can share common properties in such a way they are equivalent. With infinite numbers, I can think about a set of positive numbers in which we have a neutral element. How many numbers there are in such a set? Well, infinite. These numbers aren't the same, but they share the same properties that I demanded (they're all natural numbers). If now I start to struggle with my set being too narrow to be true and define an additive inverse for each non-zero number in this set, how many new numbers can I get? Infinite again. We can do this with all the sets we know. Eventually, we'll find it useful to define operations that relate two or more, or maybe an infinite number of sets. And now comes the fun part: in fact, I can construct an infinite number of "2" by relating many quantities and operations, such as {(√3i + 5)(√3i - 5) + (18792/(29*3³))+ (1 + (12/π²)*[Σ(1/n²) from n=1 to ∞])*e^(i*(3pi/2))} +3*(0.999...). This is a very non-smart way to write a number 2. If you know how to relate those numbers (and the properties of each set) with the operations in the expression, you know this is the number "2". There are infinite ways of writing the number "2" in a similar form, using the same set with the same properties or different sets. The only reason we choose our "2" is because of its reduced representation and natural use (to us) as a cardinal number.

if there are infinite plastic pieces of arbitrary numbers physically scattered everywhere in an infinite space and nothing can restrict repetition you would get an infinite number of 2's. there is one 2 out of infinite numbers on the mathematical numberline. you will never find a mathematical numberline in reality, its just our imaginary way of arranging infinite numbers to distinguish them. that's why there is no repetition on the mathematical numberline.

Kardashev 5? ~ by ReverendRV Revelation 21:1 NIV; Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. When Cosmologists speculate about the existence of Extraterrestrials, they tend to categorize potential civilizations by using the Kardashev Scale; proposed by the Astronomer Nicolai Kardashev long ago in the 60’s. This Scale has three categories based on the use of available energy; Planetary, Stellar and Galactic. Because of the advancement in Quantum Theory, proposals have been made to add a fourth and fifth category to the Scale; Universal and Multiversal Power! Inherent in this proposal is the contingency for the existence of Life which Transcends the Universe; right? Scientist suggest that it’s possible for several kinds of Universes to exist outside of Space and Time; so a ‘Steady State’ Universe could exist. This type of Universe would be Eternal, populated by Eternal people with Multiversal Power. And being Eternal, this demands that it be the ‘Parent Universe’ of all Universes. ~ In a way, Science catches up with the Bible without even knowing it; after all, Heaven, Earth, and Hell would qualify to be a Multiverse; right? If Kardashev 5 Aliens came to Earth and demanded we keep their law, would you do it? I suppose you wouldn’t have a choice; they have the Might, and Right, as the obvious Creators of the Multiverse. Since a ‘Steady State’ Universe cannot evolve into new Universes, we are their Creation. Such an advanced civilization should be highly ethical, so their Laws would be similar to fundamental Laws we’re already under. ~ Have you ever Stolen ANYTHING? What would someone from a Kardashev 5 society call you for Stealing? “They wouldn’t call me anything, because I took it from MY job”. But remember, you’re under their Law; and they own the World and everything in it, anything you’ve Stolen you’ve stolen from them. ~ Stealing is only one of God’s Ten Commandments; if he judged you by his standard, will you be guilty? The Bible says breaking one Law breaks all of them; even Murder. Would you go to Heaven or to Hell? God is highly ethical, so he has to love Justice; but he’s just as Merciful. ~ For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not be cast into the Universe of Hell but be received with open arms in the Universe of Heaven. The Logos of God came down from above to be Incarnated in the person of Jesus Christ, to keep the Law of Heaven for Mankind. Though he was not a Lawbreaker, his Cross bore a sign charging him for being the King they didn’t want. He will freely trade you his sign for the sign from the Cross next to his, a sign charging us with Thievery. He shed his blood and died on the Cross as a Thief, the Just dying for the Unjust. He was buried, but arose from the dead; showing he was alive to five hundred people. We’re Saved by merciful Grace through Faith, apart from meritorious Works lest we boast in ourselves. Repent of your Sin, Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord God; go to Church and ask them for a Bible. ~ I always say Science will eventually prove the Bible is true… Ec 1:9 NLT; History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new.
