Can we stop talking about USC sacks? In context they are not special. 3 of their opponents give up a lot of sacks anyway. Nevada 105th, AZ St 116th, and Colorado 130th. In fact the 3 sacks against Colorado was the LEAST amount of sacks given up by Colorado in a game.

If your using sacks to justify the defense being good, then you are 100% correct but if they're just talking about particular matchups within the game I think it's a pretty important stat for Notre Dame to take into account, regardless of who they've played

@@chrichri6793 I agree. Some national media looking at a bad defense and saying it's not bad, look how many sacks they have. They had 5 sacks against Stanford. But Stanford gave up 6 sacks to Sacramento St. It tells us Stanford has a bad offensive line, not So Cal has a great pass rush.

Plus the FPI predictor has ND as a decided favorite to win. Not sure I personally agree, but by the objective measuring sticks, ND is the favorite - betting or otherwise. Being at home of course has a lot to do with that.

You heard it here first - ND wins this game by running the ball, dominating TOP and just enough Sam Hartman to keep Caleb Williams off the field. Unless the Irish implode - they’ll win. This SC team is total fraud, especially defensively, Irish ground game should just grind them down and wear them out by the 4th quarter.

USC beats ND by 3 TDs atleast. NDs OC is horrible, they cannot score TDs. Their D will keep it close for a while but will then be too gassed by end of 3rd due to ND Os inability to score or move the chains on 3rd and short

ND and Hartman need to throw from under center. Use play action. Run from shotgun with Love. Not be completely predictable from formation. Because the way they have been calling plays a bad defense can still stack the box.

Wrong question Joel. The correct question is can USC’s PATHETICALLY POOR “defense” stop ND’s strong running game and their normally efficient if not flashy passing game ? Those answers are no and no. Hartman will chew this group up.
