guy makes enough to own a Z06 and cant work a tape measure on his HTC.......the world is crazy......dude what! Best guys for the coverage.....Esoteric got me into detailing here in AZ.
Do you run a shop here in AZ that specializes in detailing? Fair warning: My adherence to detail is _precise_ to say the least. Meaning I can be your best or worst customer depending entirely upon you and your candor. Being detail oriented yourself; I have no doubt that you are a like-minded individual that can easily relate. To quote Gavin Rossdale from Bush, _"It's the little things that kill."_ Stay classy my friend.
Mr. Conti and Chuck you're Tech Tuesdays vlogs are always fantastic!! Keep your fingers on the pulse of C8 Corvette's and all the other Corvette to guys!! Rick,,Stop Dreaming and Start Driving
Rick, Chuck, and special guests Todd and Nate, I'll keep it short. I absolutely love Tech Tuesday's and all the knowledge that you give each and every time. Thank you!!!!
Changing out interior OEM bulbs on a C6 to LED is straightforward except the fold down visor bulbs can be extremely difficult to remove. Go slow go easy and wear eyeglass protection in case the bulb shatters in front of your eyes. Remember to also replace the under hood LED up in the right front area! Much less drain on your battery and much better lighting.
Appreciate Chucks candor about the transmission fluid testing and the correct type to use. Still laughing when he stated a few weeks ago that the C8 is a real “maintenance pig”.
Rick, that happened to 2 of my buddies. They were first on their local Z06 list with deposits and the dealership “accidentally” gave their spot to a big shot buddy with “more important” name! Total B.S. Great show men!
Nepotism at its finest. I am not particularly proud of it, but that is how I got my foot in the door at the Ferrari conglomerate. After all, I was raised in the era of: _"It's not what you know that matters, but rather _*_who_*_ you know.."_ Stay classy my friends.
Yes sir, what up Ive! 12v fridges are the business. I have the BougeRV 36 qt. Sometimes I take it with me to the grocery store. That way, I can put the cold things in utand not have to come straight back home if I have other places or errands to run to. It has the ref/freezer option with the on board battery. The battery only lasts about 4 hours but it helps to prolong power usage when I have my power station in the car. Plus you can plug into the car but be careful with your car battery when the car is off.
Installing, removing, and re-installing PPF is much more expensive than re-spraying a bumper once every few years. Body shops have gotten much better at color match too with computerized paint analysis. Even a minor PPF install for bumper, headlights and mirrors is $2000 plus.
Hi, im a new subscriber. Only just discovered your channel. Very informative. On that note I have tried very hard to get information on the milky run marks on the inside of the c8 headlight. I'm in Australia and pretty much every c8 I see has these marks on the inside of the lens. Has the cause actually been identified? I have had my lights replaced once already and it has now also happened to one of the new lights. This leads me to want to believe gm don't know the cause. Has anyone actually disassembled the headlights and tried to clean/polish the marks out? I want to fix mine once and for all..... not just keep replacing them. Thanks for any info.
Mine has been replaced once. Now the second set are the same. Has anyone ever taken the headlights apart and tried to polish the inside surface? I've been trying to get a cheap second hand headlight to try this but it's hard in Australia because of shipping costs. And no wrecked ones here yet.
Just awesome information. I am taking my 23 HTC 70th White Pearl with the factory stripes for PPF and ceramic at the end of March. I now feel even better about spending the $$$ on the PPF. By the way, just got my car past the 500 mile break-in. Wow. Thank you and Chuck for spending so much of your time keeping us informed.
Rick, I have a question for you. I need to install an ignition/fuel cutoff switch to prevent car thefts from my home or out on the road. Any ideas. It needs to be hidden.
Good info !!! Love the Tech Tuesdays! I got concerned a little when you had ate talk about changing out to led bulbs. I change them on my C7 for the trunk and license plate bulbs, no issues so far! Wish I had a lift! Thanks for another great episode! I guess you sold the 70th anniversary carbon flash car by now?
Thanks Rick and Chuck for answering the height question. The question isn’t as dumb as it sounds. Remember the fellow who damaged his nacelles? Whoever questioned my question must be driving the weinermobile!
Now that there is a Stingray, ZO6 and an E-Ray and the forth coming ZR1, Grand Sport and Zora isn't inevitable that GM/Chevrolet has to put on a third shift at Bowling Green?
The hood of my C8 has PPF but the stripes do not. My PPF guy said he does that because putting it over the strip leaves a small air gap along side the strip which I could actually see in this video. When you run your hand over the stripes now it’s smooth because the PPF is nearly the same thickness as the stripes. It looks great and it doesn’t make the stripe shiny.
In reference to the first 7500 mile service on c8 being free including dct filter change … Does this apply to the z06 as well ? I just had it done at my local dealer and they said c8 with the 5.5L LT6 engine does not apply and proceeded to charge me a grand to do it …
