Rome wouldn't survive an encounter like this scenario. Vikings used archers, shield walls, and spears too.. In fact...all the Vikings would have to do is keep them surrounded and contained until they starved for lack of supply chain. If they were to attack, they would feint with a light press to the outer shield wall and hit the corners, the weakest part of a box formation....HARD! Then encircle them from within. Vikings weren't dumb barbarians. They were quite clever and tactical. History, and modern pop culture doesn't reflect that, and of course, neither do video games or sims. Fun to watch, but the AI is dumb.
