The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has witnessed a continuous evolution in weaponry, tactics, and geopolitical dynamics. The F-15 Eagle is far more beautiful, so is the F-22 Raptor. The F-16 might be a little plain looking, but it's still better than almost anything. Russia has. The F-16 is 71 to zero in air-to-air combat. The F-15 is 104 to 0 in air-to-air combat. There isn't a country on the planet that is even remotely close to being able to compete with an f22 Raptor.

Interesting video. but you are missing a few things. that are very important. this missile R-37-M/X can be used as a fire and forget. that's the reason why it is so dangerous The SU-30 does not need to stay engaged NO Radar Lock necessary. the guidance can be done by the fighter aircraft YES. but it can also be done by S-300 S-350 S-400 S-500 and A-50-M-X. SU-33/SU-35/SU-34/SU-57/S-70. MIG-29/MIG-31. Approaching from a different angle. it can also be guided by some air defense ships S-300 S-350 S-400 naval editions. That means that the SU-30 is only a bomb truck and can hide immediately after firing the missile. and get out of the danger zone. before the F-16 ever gets in range to use its own missiles. and it also creates the circumstance that if one of those F-16 takes off from Romania or Poland gets refueled close to the border and then enters Ukraine. it can be taken out of the fight 350 kilometers inside Poland are inside Romania including the tanker that's going to save the aircraft after it has done its mission. including the radar reconnaissance aircraft flying in Romania are in Poland. those aircraft will also be a legitimate target.

So far so good but it is still the weak point of the missile that it needs to be guided. Sooner or later NATO states will learn to disturb the connection. Therefore it is no real fire and forget which would mean that the missile itself will keep the identified target never mind it's maneuvers which is possible through different technics.

@@Vladput all i am saying is it's outdated technology. We can all acknowledge 60-70 year old tanks fare worse than more modern tanks and there are plenty of examples. Now why wouldn't we be equally as critical to the F-16 which is drastically more complex and requires significantly more maintenance than a tank? I think all the hype is just going to hurt morale when they inevitably get taken down.

@@thetoolrule First, I do not think that the F16 will be game changers, but they will have a lot more impact on battlefield than T55/62. The F16 models that UAF are getting are about 30 year old, far better and "younger" than any jets currently in UAF fleet. More importantly, unlike old tanks, the those F16 will be fitted with modern AMRAAM, HARM, JDAM, Hammer missiles, etc. As far as maintenance, UAF General said Some F-16s Will Be 'Stored Outside' (aka repaired/maintained) Ukraine. Prolly all (wink/wink).

The F-16 is an inferior 50 year old design with modern avionics. SU-30 has longer range air-air weapons, more powerful engines, thrust vectoring, etc.

Well the different variants of the Flanker range are more analogous to the F-14 & F15, being big with long range & different variants for different purposes. While the MiG-29 is more analogous to different variants of the FA-18, especially in regards the later variants. The former Soviet aircraft most analogous to the F16 would be the MiG-23MLD, a beast of a plane in so many ways.

Russia is using conscription and prisoners to fight a war and they are just sending him to die in 1950s era. T52s. That's with a handful of equipment. It had, by deceiving Putin and its staff to believe that the Ukrainians and the Ukrainian Army will receive the Russian Forces as liberators from the descendants of the 2014 Coup d`Etat (allegation based on the Constitution of Ukraine, multiple times broken since 2004 and now, in an accelerated pace) and after 8 years of diplomatic negotiations and agreements declared by Zelensky as "non-applicable" (the Minsk accords "simply cannot be implemented"). So, in the confusion from the first days only in the Donbas Region the Russian Army was welcomed with cheers. And, again, Ukraine had the upper hand when it was inducing to the Russians a feeling that will negotiate in Istanbul a peace agreement with Russia.

To be fair Phoenix worked too. It was made to take out large aircraft, which it was perfectly capable of doing, and at the time Flanker that was to escort them didn't have a missile with range long enough to take out the F-14 prior to launch. Todays R-37M is designed to also hit fighters, but we are talking about a missile that has barely any relation to the original R33 upon which R37 is based.

There's a little catch here. To fully utilize the range of R-37M for these Su-30 you need A50 in the sky. And as we know it wasn't a good time for these A50s lately. So, will this be a game-changer? Will see, most likely not. As we can take a lesson from history, Wunderwaffen won't win the war.

Air Superiority is when one side completely denies enemy the ability to conduct air operations. Ukrainians are flying nothing bigger than small drones over line of contact, while Russia flies SU-25s, Ka-52s and Mi-28s. Russia has complete air supremacy over the battlefield.

F-16s can share radar communication with other NATO equipment. Including Sam locations, artillery, tanks and such. It will make the equipment we've given Ukraine already, even far more dangerous than it already is. Precision is what comes with American technology. Russia is not prepared and they have no idea what's coming once those pilots and ground grooves are trained. And they've already prepared to maintain f-16s in nearby NATO countries, so they can swap them out to keep the air dominance necessary to drive Russia back into their own country.

During balakot counter strike Pakistan use f16 fighter block 3 with aim120 to shoot down su30 of India Air force but unfortunately su30 electronic jam the missiles, hence the conclusion is that su30 has comparatively edge in air to air combat 😂😂

Indian SU30 MKI use Israeli EL/M-8222 Jammers which performed very well that time to jam AIM 120 AMRAAM's. Israel Air force themselves use AIM 120 AMRAAM so those jammers are designed by studying it. Russia don't have Israeli jammers on their SU30, so it's difficult to tell anything that how they'll perform against F16 armed with AIM 120 AMRAAM missiles.

@@TheGreatMarathaArmy Russia has their own jammers that are every bit as good as Israeli gear. SAP518 pods and Khibini-M EW suite for example, which is similar to USAs latest EPAWSS. Also a lot depends on what model AMRAAM. I don't see Scandinavians sending Ukraine the latest AIM-120C7: US would be stupid to allow that. AIM-120A or B at best. Ukrainians already had one pilot that was feeding Russia info and then defected in his Su-27. Imagine same is done with an F-16 with latest AIM-120C7?

They have those Flankers and R-37M missiles two and a half years now fighting in Ukraine. They are unable to gain air superiority and the Ukrainian Air Force still flies every day. It's not only about having weapons , but having skilled pilots and to know how to use them, and Russian Air Force is well known about being uncompetitive.

R-37M is a 400km missile. It means it can also lock in you 400km away if radar finds you. This means if you take off in Southers Ukraine you will be downed shoet after you cross the river and fly towards Dynipro. Its an idiotic. Unreasonable idea That might cost the lives of many pilots unable to do anything against Russian anti air capabilities. What do you think the Ukrainian Su-27 Mig-29 Mig-27 Su-25 gone? They get shot down before launching their storm shadow missile.

R-37M has only been used once in Ukraine by a MiG-31, but the circumstances of this kill are not clear. Unknown is at what range it was fired from, what air defense assets were in the area, etc.

Russians aren't using MiG-29s almost at all any more apart from on their currently-in-refit carrier. Su-27 is slowly being phased out as it runs out of airframe flight hours. MiG-35 isn't known to have been ordered in large quantities. In the skies over Ukraine it's Su-30SM/SM2, Su-35S, MiG-31BM and occasionally Su-57. From Ukrianian side there's SU-27 and MiG-29, in future there may be F-16. Australia offered its old "classic" Hornets, but Ukraine rejected those. Stupidly, IMO since they are easier to maintain than F16 and can take off from rougher airfields. There won't be F-15s, F-22s or F-35 unless US enters the fight directly.

Sounds like the marketing clip for the famous T-14 Armata tank, that somehow never materialized. Ask Yourselves a question: How come, that two years ago hundreds of tanks, helicopters and fighter planes were leaving Russia to conquer Kyiv. A year later only one tank from the 1930s was seen on Red Square on May-9th and today, the so called second biggest army on the planet is using quad bikes and golf carts to conquer Kharkiv, only to be crushed. And their "Dear Leader" is travelling to North Korea of all places to beg for support and sign a treaty for mutual defense. Seriously??? How come A50s are dropping from the skies, refineries all over Russia are bursting up in flames when the Russian Airforce is so superior?

Not sure if whichever block F-16's they end up with, but they have lightely been upgraded somewhere near current roll outs.. All that aside.. Most of the F-16 variants that Ukraine will received are F-16AM and BM Block 15 which were modernized starting in the mid-90s to the mid-2000s under the Mid-Life Update (MLU) program. From what I could find these aircraft have been upgraded with the AN/APG-66(V)2 radar, which has a detection range up to 110 km.

Most of Ukraine's F-16s are going to be roughly 1996 to 2002 technology, so most of it will depend on just where the R-37M's no escape zone actually ends up being, and just how well Ukrainian pilots of been trained to defend adequately against incoming missile threats. I will not be surprised to see F-16s evade the R-37M, and I will not be surprised to see F-16s succeed in downing some Russian aircraft with their older AMRAAMs. Having said that, I will also not be surprised to see new F-16 pilots fall prey to a Russian designed missile that is roughly 2000 to 2010 technology.

A lot will depend on situational awareness. I promise you: Russians will try to hunt down that SAAB340 AEWAC. Also a lot depends on the model of the AMRAAM used, what Russian aircraft will be firing at the F-16 and from what speed and altitude.

Zelensky was invited to celebrate the anniversary of the Allied landings in Normandy for a reason. If it were not for the Ukrainians, the Allies would not have been able to successfully carry out the Normandy landings. The Ukrainian SS units were the first to leave their positions and rushed to flee, because to fight against the landing of the regular army is not to rob and slaughter Poles and Jews in villages.

Both are formidable fighters. Its the pilot that will make the difference. R37 has long legs but is bulkier and easier to trash. AAMRAAM doesn't go as far but has better maneuverability against agile targets. It a compromise, range vs maneuverability you can not have both, maybe if the missile jettisons some of its mass mid flight. Ukrainians in 16 will require a lot of training. Not sure they can use the Viper as well as a Native pilot.

I'm very concerned about the F-16 against the R-37 and some of the newer Russian jets. I see it like sending Abrams M1A1's without the extra armor. I think we're "half-assing" our equipment to Ukraine. Will be using the AIM 120's? I Ithink the AIM 260's are going to F22's 1st, then F15's and F35's.
