14:25 - 'your watch slows you down' and 'don't let the watch get in your head' - absolutely spot on! as soon as I stopped wearing the watch for 5k and 10k events in earlier this year, I've dropped my 5k PB by 2 minutes and my 10k time by 4 minutes, just by running on feeling rather than letting the numbers get in my head. great running both of you!

Really enjoyed this one. It's my home Parkrun and love it at Albert. Massive congratulations to Chris because to run sub 19 for the first time ever is fantastic. Congratulations too Kayleigh because you posted a brilliant time even if it wasn't a PB. If you come back here then let me know and I'll look after you both.

Ooo congrats on sub-19, Chris! And Kayleigh, I loved seeing the super-fast chihuahua at 6:12 - thank you for keeping that in! 🐕 Thanks for another great video :)

Thank you Kendra 💙 the little Chihuahua definitely needed a feature! There was also a dog called Eric who got a PB but although I was stroking him, I didn’t catch him mid run 😂

Great running the pair of you. I love it when the body's telling you to stop and your mind's having none of it😂. Well done on your 1000+ subs, onwards and upwards.

Well done Chris! Yeah the Strava predictors and Garmin ones are usually way off. I ran a several big downhill races last year, so my race predictor times are very optimistic about me at the moment. There are just so many variables that go into their times. Congrats on breaking 19... I never got there and broke 20 only once or twice. Enjoyed the video.

Thank you Eddie! Ours seem to be quite accurate, there or thereabouts whereas our old Garmins were very inaccurate - it’s strange! Glad you enjoyed it 😁

Its showing 1K subs by the time i am watching this! I was sure the lace was going to be the perfect excuse! great running both of you. Makes me want to get back to parkrun for some flat out 5k attempts myself, pretty sure i cant get close to a pb at moment though.

You should do the quayside 5k in August if you want a truly flat course! Also, would be great if you could put the paces in metric as well as old people’s units!

Congrats on the times, both are amazing. 2 things, can you donate video on your training structure and 2nd thing, buy some Tri laces you'll never have to tie a shoe again and no risk of them coming undone.

Strangely the predictor on my previous Garmin was way too fast, it had me (Chris) as 17 minutes - which there’s no way I could run. The new Garmin we both got though seems to be much more accurate. Not sure why 🤷‍♂️

My Garmin thinks I can run 17:47 for 5k !! My Parkrun PB is 19:23 at Selby in March and my 5k race PB is 19:29 at York 5k in April. Maybe I'm just not trying hard enough lol. Well done both of you 👏
@those2runners

It’s strange. My old Garmin (945) was the same as yours, predicted nearly 2 minutes better than my PB. I recently got the 265 though and it seems very accurate. No idea why 🤷‍♂️ thank you 🙌

@@those2runners yep wear it all the time other than when it needs charging. I have a Coros arm heart rate monitor I've been wearing for last few months. Found this to be more accurate than the watch heart rate.
@dr.mohamedaitnouh4501
@dr.mohamedaitnouh4501 3 месяца назад
Great video thank you! How can you see your heart beat per minute while running? My garmin shows only distance and time and BPM will show after I finish not while I am running. Can you tell me please how to set it or which garmin or watch do you have that has this nice BPM option?
@those2runners
@those2runners 3 месяца назад
Thanks! 🙌 Not sure which Garmin you have, but on mine you go to start a run and whilst it’s waiting for GPS you can press one of the buttons to bring up a menu (mine is the middle button on the left). You can then select run setting and then data screens. That will allow you to change the screens you see when you run. You can then change it to show your current heart rate (which will display in bpm). I’ve got mine set that way and it will show the heart rate zones too. Another thing you can try is when you are running press the down button and it might bring up a different screen which might have heart rate on it by default CP
