That actually looked like a lot of fun. Glad your channel got a shoutout at the start of the race! Always nice when your social media efforts get an impromptu plug. It's always nice to get a different kind of race in there. Those trail runs can be a lot of fun. I don't own a pair of trail shoes, and I don't think I'd use carbon ones for the race you were running. I'd probably just got with my normal trainers. Cool video and it was fun to watch.
How beautiful! I had to look up where that was, as I hadn't heard of it before - definitely on my 'to go' list now, although I might stick to walking up those hills, haha!! Incredible effort from the pair of you - well done!
Great racing both, looked like a great race apart from the narrow grass section haha, thanks for teaching us about food 🤣🤣 I had no clue what it was, Keep on Running 👊🔥
Just the first part, there is a slight uphill that you do twice to get you up to the lake, but majority of the course is flat and there’s a slight downhill in the middle between the two lakes 😊
@@soccergalsara personally I think it depends on where your fitness is at 😊 I think it could be - but just take not to go off too fast on that downhill - or if you do, to get it back under control as you settle! It’s a fast, tailor made PB course though! We’ll be there too, so if you run it - come say hello! And good luck 😃
Awesome memories of a wonderful and somewhat emotional morning. You captured the whole community brilliantly. Was lovely to see you both that day and thanks for the little shout-out on the video!
Lovely video. I do like that Parkrun despite the undulation. Lovely community spirit and atmosphere defo always makes it worth getting out of bed for!! You guys must let me know where you'll be doing your 100th run to see if I can get along. P.S. more funny outtakes at the end please hehe. Take care 🙂
Ah thank you 😊 and you’re right, it’s always such a lovely parkrun! It’s my (Kayleigh’s) 100th on July 6th - but we’re travelling to Millfield near York for it. However, Chris’s will be local in a few weeks - so maybe you can join us for that? Will keep you posted! Glad you liked the outtake 🤣
Aw, so many lovely furry friends - it always makes me so happy to see them! You captured the spirit and atmosphere of this event so beautifully - thank you for sharing it with us :)
I did Jubilee's inaugural when they used to still have them on the events page in advance of the start. I like to leave them a few weeks now for it to settle down before I visit. I'm planning to do the 10th one of Fulwell for my Wilson Index. Such a nerd!
Ah you’ll love it! It’s such a good course 😃. Oooh we’ve not heard of that challenge! What is the Wilson Index? Don’t worry, parkrun nerds welcome - we’re a pair of pr nerds too 😜😂
Nice video guys, gutted I missed out on Blaydon this year (I'd been learning the lyrics for the song to be ready and everything!), but 2025 places are all to play for now! I was edge of my seat for that finish with Chris and Alex lol! Hope you enjoyed Up and Running SRG the other night, always a good way to start a week is that group. Really enjoyed this video, nice work and great running efforts!
Cracking video and considering you did a cheeky 5km trail the morning of this! Both managed outstanding times while filming. 🤯 multitasking levels “pro”
It was the 5k warm up that made all the difference! The head cam makes a difference as you don’t need to carry anything and very light. You’re right though maybe sub 40 pace was on without the talking 🤷♂️
Congrats Chris on a fantastic time. I think you would've been a little faster with a paved finish as well. That grass just sort of takes any bounce you'd get from the carbon shoes. The closest I got to breaking 40 in a 10K was a very long time ago -- I got to about 40:30 and that was the best I got. Also that was a huge race and quite an interesting storyline behind it. Pretty amazing how many runners you guys get for all the races that are out there. The market here in the US is pretty saturated so they all syphon off from each other. Out of curiosity, are you using Instapros for your head camera and GoPros for the handheld? The video quality has been really good of late. It is amazing what these things can do these days (I have a really old GoPro)
Hi Eddie! Yeah the grass and filming might have lost me a little time, but now I need to find a 10k that’s pretty flat to go for it! 40:30 is a cracking time!! 🏃💨 That’s definitely one of the bigger races, there was 4300 runners! Crazy how popular running is! Good though! For parkruns we’re using the handheld GoPro mainly hero 11 I think. For the races we’ve started using the insta360 go 3 which is very light and clips on your hat. Much easier, but the battery life’s not the best. Mine died just after the finish, luckily still caught the end 😃
Well done you two runners. Watching your video reminded me of something that was shouted by one of the supporters about a mile into the race. 'You're nearly there...' they said. I'm not sure if they were being tongue in cheek or what but it made a lot of the runners laugh.
Great vid. Did you see the fossil fishes? limestonelandscapes.info/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/FulwellQuarryleaflet.pdf . Personally, I tend not to turn up to inaugural parkruns any more. This is because although it was no problem in this case, social media means some inaugural parkruns can get ridiculously huge attendances. To my mind that’s unfair on the volunteers who might be inexperienced and anxious. I was on the core team at one that ran out of tokens due to so many people coming (plus from a selfish pov the inaugural run can reveal teething trouble that is fixed in later parkruns)
Inaugurals….that used to be a thing. Been at over 30 now…running or volunteering. Mostly 2014 or before when it wasn’t outlawed…and it was a ranking mechanism on the most events table - 7 inaugurals or 20 different events to get on the table!
