the biggest thing i was able to transfer between real life and sim was RACECRAFT. if you can understand your spacing without those little radar assists in sim, you can do that IRL. you'll understand how to leave just enough space and battle hard, but with sim you're certainly not as stressed as going side by side through a tight corner irl

This is great. I've been sim racing for the larger part of my life. Nearly 30 years at this point. I was destined to be a motorsports enthusiast at a young age, but I took it upon myself to learn how to race, through games like Papyrus' NASCAR Racing, the Gran Turismo series, Forza, GTR 2, and countless other sim, sim-cade, and arcade titles. Not all physics are realistic in all racing games. But, if you learn how to race, that knowledge translates to all forms of racing. Arcade, sim, or real life. Since I've been a desktop racer for so long, I've always advocated how beneficial sim racing is to real life experience. Knowing what to do to control a vehicle is universal. I've seen sim racers win championships in real cars, and sim drifters hop in 900HP monsters for their first time ever and treat it like a walk in the park. Thank you for your efforts to shed light on how amazing sim racing is, and how similar it is to the real thing. You can't play FIFA, Madden, NBA2K, or most other sports titles and learn what it takes to do it in real life. But since the first time someone programmed a virtual car to "realistically" go around a virtual track, we've all been able to learn the ins and outs of racing from the comfort of our homes. The only thing left is to put that knowledge to practice. Trust the time you've spent churning out laps and be the best racer you can be!

Thanks for the video, actually I am a FSAE driver. I also do a bit of karting but i struggled a lot in sim-racing . your videos really helped me on understanding how to use the sim. Now I am preparing for a F4 test drive in Zhuhai international circuit, hope the sim can help me with it

View makes a lot of difference. Cockpit view will lower the car noise but increase the tire noise. You can really tell when you are losing grip or locking brakes. Helped me with being consistent and gained better times. I actually drive my road car better as well. It is a fantastic tool. Love sim racing.

Just got a karting ddr2, I played Iracing for 3 years and it definitly help a lot. It's amazing how à good sim is near to reality

Completely agree with everything you said here except one thing. I’m 100% sure it’s easier to save a car in real life because there is so much more sensory information to be proactive with. Maybe with more laps under your belt in the F4 car, you’d get to the same feeling?

I agree completely with everything this man says. I race legend cars on short ovals, and I also spend many hours on the sim at home. The forces applied to a driver when racing ESPECIALLY on a high-banked short track are immense. Funny, enough, the brake pedal feels similar to that of a Logitech G29, very stiff. and the lines and techniques used are similar in the sim if you use the same setup, because oval racing is highly dependent on setup for how you drive the car. my last race, I struggled through practice because I got a new seat and I would not be able to turn the wheel fully because the seat got in the way. Subscribe! How's your experience in real life so far? How does it compare to sim racing? I forgot one of the biggest differences... Money. It's insane how much you can spend in a single weekend in real life. A weekend in real life could cost what it takes to build a high-end sim racing rig that you can race for years. It's definitely worth it trying at some point in your life, though, the experience is just uncomparable!

Love this. Totally agree from what I can tell from simracing and real driving (not in races though), and it makes sense that sims need more tirenoise, because of the lack of G. I remember seeing Ben Collins visiting Jimmy Broadbent to help him with his step to our virtual world, because he couldn't feel the G forces and kept crashing. Very curious to see what kind of lessons you are giving, checking it out now.

Can you do a video of you FBB settings for Iracing specifically with the logitech G pro wheel and pedals, what elastimers your use and all of your in game and G hub settings!!!

It is absolutely incredible and well worth the money. You dont need expensive tripple screens to have the best most immersive experience

All I do recently is practice my braking technique every race. Trying to rotate or trail brake correctly to the apex. This is so hard to master. I’m barely scratched the surface.

Love that F4 in iRacing. I wish I was faster in it though. 100% would pay to do a track day in one.

Although the SIM Racing games may give you an idea what some of the real tracks look like (depending on how real they are designed in the game), driving a real Race Car on a real track is a whole different ballgame. That is if you have never driven any kind of real Race Car. They do have driving schools that people can go to and get a little training and take a few laps around certain tracks. After that, So it is what your goals and desires are and if you want to continue to be a Real Race Car Driver. There are allot of very good competitive drivers that you would be going up against and how good you would be in close car to car racing. It takes allot of hours on the tracks and the feel of the car to be competitive. Then there are the expenses to do the racing. Thanks for the video and take care.

The biggest difference SIM vs REAL: No talking and reading chat while driving = REAL, talking 24/7 and reading chat while driving = SIM I don’t talk and don’t read chat when I’m in the Sim so I’m doing good 😅
