Doubt, these sword were suppose to be in the base game, with an entire quest line behind it, but then again, it could indeed be a shadow of the colossus reference

Or, Sword of lights Skill, Trigger + Light = Empowering followed by a flash step stab erupting a light beam, Trigger + Heavy = Light pillars raining down while the player floats up followed by them landing on the ground while a cascade of white fire rolls outward with white feathers float about. Sword of Night Skill, Trigger + Light = Leap like black blade and clade of calling followed by descending forward horizontal slash that emits a small cone of a black stars that erupt, Trigger + Heavy = Floating up into the Moon of Nokstella, before surging forward and pressing it into the ground slowly to emit a small AOE of stars followed by the Final AOE of stars. The Idea could have been Ancient alter of the Crucible While the other was an Ancient alter of Nokstella, one empowers with the crucibles primordial flame and the other is Nokstellas Moon

Souls was always anime, in the first game you gave bosses doing backflip and insane jumps and some very anime looking moveset in the DLC In ds3 you also get a lot of anime movest, especially the DLC which come with a double ultra greatsword moveset that integrate a back flip and a scythe that let you do long anime combos. Elden Ring is just continuing that trend with AOW, but the base moveset of the new weapons (great katana, first, backhand blade, dueling shield, light greatsword …) aren’t anime moveset

As you got farther in the game the enemies became slightly more exaggerated, but a guy doing a sword flip or a cool combo is nothing compared to teleporting bosses with visual effects that nuke your playstation. And the players may have had access to some anime shit like Friede’s scythes, but that’s nothing compared to shit like swift slash or any of the over the top spells.

I plan to, and to the two comments who’ve already come to let him know that is infact meta, i dunno if i agree. Its a little early to tell whether or not it will stay relevant. The recoveries on everything other than a follow up r1 are horrible. Im sure that some people will make it work really well but that doesnt necessarily mean its actually a good weapon.

@@Rust_BKT it definitely feels on par with some meta picks at the very least, rakshasa especially (until and if it gets *fixed* anyway)

@@Rust_BKT yeah my issue is that the vortex loses prio, you need to do the r1 2 otherwise they mash out of stun. The damage is fine and I like the range but getting attacked out of stun as a way to escape pressure feels very problematic to me. rakshasa does have the greathammer hyperarmour to partially counteract it but you do take increased counter damage, which feels like a deathblow going into ts or fist. Given how vortex setups like psgs already struggle into those two matchups I don't see the added counterdamage making things any better.

Idk, for me its more “i can stop them from mashing”. Whereas with almost every other small weapon, i have to play passive as fuck and constantly disengage after i land a hit cuz i cant keep prio.

@@Zercanyan the problem i have with blinkbolt is that i find it super easy to pubnish. Anytime someone blinks toward me i just immediately attack into it and it stops them in their tracks. The only time ive found it useful is if the opponent is in range of being killed by the blink itself

​@@Rust_BKT I can understand that, the thing is it seems much more effective against slower weapons. It is actually solid for punishing any colossal, greatswords or any running thrust attack from what i've seen. Blink bolt seems to have a few persisting s after the animation Personally I've seen very few losses with it. When fighting a lighter weapon such as the light great sword or shamshire it is much more difficult as the s start around the time your attack animation begins(noting that blink bolt allows you to R1/L2 faster than you can dodge). Im glad it isn't spammable as other options, I am worried they may overbuff it due to player feed back, since many players are underwhelmed with the skill despite it having some nice synergies despite the though if they make it stronger it can be a bit too strong on pc due to s and easy anticheat:/ it's clearly better on the straight swords then the two somber weapons even with the spinning follow up option as that can be rolling through and punished, as long as you are prepared for it) . Im glad it isn't spammable as other -frame options, I am worried they may overbuff it due to player feed back, since many players are underwhelmed with the skill despite it having some nice synergies though if they make it stronger it can be a bit too strong due to s :/ it is a little tragic to see straight swords fall from the pvp meta as they were essentially the dex pvp weapon outside of naginata but that is due to personal bias I do think it's a shame the best curved sword, thrusting sword and straight sword in pvp are better on strength (lightning can be good on the shamshire and other weapons i guess, but still a little tragic),

Faith already has codeds, and thats about as optimal as you could ever get in terms of a faith weapon. I feel like having this be a good str scaling weapon was a good call to encourage build diversity

@@Rust_BKT Oh my gripe here isn't about the variety necessarily (although I'd point out there are a ton of elemental weapons which scale better to physical stats already), but with how perfect the ash of war would work with the many new homing incantations. Area denial + holy damage buffs would go hard with giant folden arcs, land of shadow, etc.

Its good for pure faith but you actually do more damage with light/ darkness on their respective builds if the opponent prepares for it at all with holy liver or talismans. So these will be more consistant damage for you, but codeds are still excellent and the best option for pure faith

@@Rust_BKT Well I more so hate the invading rather than the 1v1 pvp. I kinda hate 1v1s in souls games apart from bloodborne since movesets are so limited it mostly just comes down to spacing which is kinda boring to me personally, way less weapon variety.

@hipbreakingaming4432 youve definately messed something up, either not fully upgraded or i have no idea, but thats very far off. I just double checked the numbers, codeds on 80 faith with literally nothing else have 546 ar.

If youre on strength then you could run a main hand slender or broadsword with sword dance. Sword dance is extremely strong on psss

Yes thats correct, but 133 is alot more obtainable with the introduction of verd and solitude armor, especially as the level for meta seems to be slowly shifting higher at the moment. But being able to poise the full l1 is very invalidating to powerstanced movesets, they no longer keep the same pressure that they once could.

Sure, slenders on bleed infusion are ok. The regalia weapons are the only arcane scaling straight swords but theyre pretty bad

Warhawk talons are underrated with bleed infusions IMO. Love that double hitting R2. Plus they have drip factor for sure

@@ninjacom3 if youre on pure faith then thats the way to go, but they do more damage than 80 faith codeds if youre on a 50 strength build if the opponent has any holy resist. But either way is good :)

@@Rust_BKT straight sword movesets hit a nerve with me 😅. They're all just so awkward and unrealistic. PSSS isn't even the worst of it. I wouldn't be happy unless the psss r1 caused a player to literally trip and knock themselves prone.

26.4 105.6 = 132, so no, youre wrong. and yes the 10% damage nerf to ps attacks is significant, especially when you factor in the new 2h tali which makes its tough matchups even harder, being ts and sham. so no, you dont out trade. the elemental resistance buffs are very significant, which is why we're using these instead of buffing twice then swapping to codeds. codeds do less dmg on an optimized faith builds after buffs if the opponent is prepared with liver and talis

@@Rust_BKT thing is that frame data is not verified and not 100% correct i will test again with my friend and write response.

@@lukaogadze5071 the frame data is extracted directly from the game files. We unpack the files into dsanimation studios where we get to see every bit of data on how the animations are coded. Sometimes theres errors, where, for example, the medium backstep animation is mislabeled as the light backstep, but the animation data for psss is correct. The only reason u wouldnt be able to tank psss in full very with bull goat is if you were poise chipped or forgot the tali

The L2 has like an 80% chance to headshot and their damage seems to be tied to pre1.07 values, meaning they do significantly more damage than theyre meant to. If the L2 headshots then it combos into another L2, and if you roll in against the L2 to try and be aggrsessive, their r1 is fast enough to stop someone. Its like playing against a bow user except it always headshot, bleeds, and does stupid fucking damage

Pure faith already had codeds, and i really dont think you could give fairh builds a more dedicate weapon type than that. Having the sword of light serve a different role allows the weapon to stay relevant i feel, otherwise it would only ever serve as a power creep on codeds, but in this case they fill a unique build type that was previously underserved

OBS has been nuking my recordings, the vid i just uploaded should look alot better, i had to use a differnet program. i play on a laptop, and OBS just takes up way too much load

Its situational. Against certain setups, toure forced to play defensively until they give you the opening, such as against endure and storm stomp players. Its better to just learn your priority on certain matchups and know when its safe to go in

Theyve been falling off since the later part of 1.10, and theyre just worse now compared to their competitors. Tb, sham, ts, starfists, pss all just marginalize what psss can offer. Its not to say its bad or you cant make it work, but ye. In tourney, sd was banned from psss which also impacted its usage, so unrestricted it performs a little better, but with the addition of 2h tali and the ps nerf, unrestricted sham just does everything it can do except better
