I'm confused if you have thin hair why would you put the tiny rubber bands on it this must be a style you can only keep for a week because anything longer than that when you take them rubber bands out whatever edges you had is coming right with it. Beautiful style though

She has a beautiful thick head of hair. Her edges being that thin is nothing more than tight damaging hairstyles. Unnecessary to put that much stress on her already damaged edges. Front too tight. Take care of those edges.

Yessss oh my gosh I experienced this before I have thin hair and the braider put rubber bands on small box braids in my hair and you could see white roots being pulled out of my head😢 ( which I didn't like the look of that) and when I took my braids out I loss handfuls of hair.... handfuls!! And I couldn't keep it in even longer then 2 weeks!! I was so sad

I'm 55. My mother used to do me and my sisters' hair like this to go to primary school. Crochet needles were available but mostly used to crochet woolen garments by white ladies. The fake hair has come in leaps and bounds since then, but there was hair available which my dad used to tease us was actual ponys' tails (!). It was actyally rubber made to look like what later became "Amigo" hair, and the packs were long as a grown man. And very cheap. So tbh these and many other things I see with young people are not new, but revived better than they were. We've always been so creative with our hair possibilities. We just let Caucasian aesthetic rule us for a brief minute. It's so lovely to see young ladies embracing all of what they are and understanding that it isn't and never was "either /or". ❤

This is a cool method. But, I wouldn't use the rubber bands on the hair at all. The rubber ban by itself adds stress on the hair by itself and when you adds in the crochet to it you're adding more stress to the hair which can lead to hair breakage. You can do this same method without using the rubber bands at all. Start a Plat (with gel on it) and then crochet a breed/ hair(It's less stress on the hair)and do exactly what you are doing! Most people don't know how to breed hair but they do know how to simply Plat hair! It looks nice!

If you do use the rubberband method put oil on them before using them. It helps reduce the tension of the rubberband 👍🏼

You should not have done this style with her thin edges. Even if the client asked, you should have been an educated professional and told them no. If this is volunteered, you should have used a different model. And if you’re going to use rubber bands (which you should never) soak them in castor oil so there will be less tension in the hair.

Absolutely Love it!!! A quick way to get dolled up. I would soak my rubber bands in oil. Less breakage. Easier to take out. Also adds moisture to hair will styled.

O..m..GEEEE! Girllll.. I have never seen anyone put THE CROCHET HAIR ON THE NEEDLE and then take the needle thru the client's hair, then latch on the at the end of the crochet braid & then take it through the loop! 🤯 That is so much faster and easier! Thanks for sharing , Hairiscope!

Maybe her edges are naturally thin. If that's the case, they don't necessarily break easily, they just are finer and less dense than the rest of her hair.

Absolutely love this as I have very thin hair and can't even attempt to cornrow it. The instructions are very clear. But don't think I could attempt this without help even so! I wish I had a Goombah gf around who would be kind enough to stay over just to try this. The other thing is you say ot is very short lived. For some of us this technique would still take HOURS. No video I've found instructs us on damage free removal either. ..😞

The style is beautiful-I love the way it turned out-you’re so innovative! I am so concerned about the use of rubber bands on my hair. I highly suggest not using rubber bands. I wouldn’t do that to my hair, edges or not. Between that and the crochet hook, the style looks more stylish than protective.

This is actually how I do my hair. The rubber bands break over time and the hair stays in place. Use ouchless rubber bands and be gentle. The thing about doing your own hair is how much control you have over the situation. I’m low maintenance and take care of my hair so that the installs last for at least a month at a time.

Really good video!!!🥰 The editing was so on point! Beautiful styling and installation. The details were EVERYTHING! I love the idea of securing the hair underneath with a net. I think I would personally consider sewing it down. Especially, after removing the thick outer band so it’s not as detectable when the hair is shifted. Overall, this video was a great watch. So pretty, but I don't understand why you say that you don't recommend this method for paid clients because if I were to want this I would want it temporary anyway so I'd pay someone to do it. Back in 2001 I got micro braded extensions, it didn't look or feel good on me bc I'm white so I'll never try brades again, but this is so pretty and who cares if it's temporary it's still a lot of work and worth paying for. I'm obviously no expert, just saying it's ok to charge and "certain" women might prefer temp no brades.

That’s look painful and stressful on the scalp. If you want to have and maintain the little bit of hair you have stop this Crotchet stuff, i got my hair done once and that girl left me with no EDGE hair , and bold spot everywhere. I love African hair style but Jesus most of the style will leave you BOLD. Their hair style most of the time are very tight and stressful to the roots/ scalp.

First time seeing the hair put on first then sticking the needle through. Can't see myself pulling my hair back after a style like that. I would have to wait at least day. To each their own. Cute style.

Ouch! This looks cute but it’s too much work for me Sis! And the edges seem much too tight. I think I would’ve just corn rowed the edges and attached a half wig. Or crocheted the back without the net cap underneath. But you’re very creative. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏾

Same difference. The rubber band or braid will not even be on her roots after you crochet in the hair. It will sit on top of the crochet hair. She's good

Put the rubber bands in a whole lot of oil to help stop breakage

I did my hair just like ur question, my edges look like hers so I platted my edges and rubber band the 2nd row etc, then I attached individual faux locs in front and faux loc wig in back. Mine is no where near as clean as hers but I'm trying to get my edges back 😩

Neat way to get the crochet look! Just be mindful that you can't keep this style in too long. The twists put extra tension on your hair and can pull on it, especially the edges. Cute style for beginners in the braiding game 🥰

Learned that the hard way, not edges though. My natural hair, which was in box braids for crochet, got so knotted.

@@Lunaris3-in-1 whenever you have braids, keep them moisturized; dry hair locs! Also during take down, be mindful of the shed hair and lint which causes the knot. Use conditioner, aloe or glycerin to finger loosen the knot and shampoo to loosen the dirt. It takes time, but it's worth it and you only lose what you shed, not the entire braid.

If u do use this edge control that we blacks mostly use to lay down our natural hair then use the bed head spray when putting it in those little ponytails when you rubber and it. When I used to do a lot of my white friends hair most of their was naturally oily this will help it stay in place and get a hair color that's similar to yours just get it a tad we little darker because the product you use will make it look darker so they are the perfect color.

Thank you for this quick and easy so I can do all myself, my arms get tired but at least you can put a rubber band in and leave it for a minute or so before continuing. You can’t do that in the middle of a corn roll, 😂

I admire that the camera was close enough to actually show the crochet technique SLOWLY. Do you have a video that actually tells us what your fingers are doing while you are crocheting on your channel. If not please make one for slow learners like me. Your sister-in-law’s style is beautiful .

Very pretty, I think some people would be willing to pay for this service as long as you don't overcharge for it, knowing it's not going to last long. Some people don't like to sit for long periods of time for braids, and some people are very tender-headed, and because of this they don't get braids, so I think this is a great alternative🤗🥰😇😁😀👍👏
