@chaosgoddess2770 we all know the real reason the song won that oscar though. Its unfortunate they don't get credited. Mariah and Whitney took that song to Iconic levels.
I´m glad Celine Dion opened the way for you to Mariah and Whitney because they are the VOCAL TRINITY. The last true vocal legends in mainstream music. They had it all.
Whitney with the adlibs, riffs and runs off the cuff so riffing and running all around Mariahs soprano yoddles effortlessly. Whew! That comes from singing in the church for years and God given talent. Just unreal.
Oscar winning song performed by top notch. Is amazing that we can listen to this whenever we want. Their skills are unbelievable but they were both born with some of the most beautiful tones ever. A duet of Divas from this heights has never happened again. I can't ev3n th8nk of 2 modern day singers with the caliber to replicate these. It's simply unbeatable
That whistle sound at the end is also Mariah's voice😍. If you've never heard it before, you'll love to react to Mariah and Boyz II Men "One Sweet Day".
I can't overstate the anticipation if you were a Gen X or elder Millennial when we heard the rumblings of a duet. Later, we saw a pic of them in the studio (remember, we didn't have social media back then) and then having to wait until the album/single dropped....it was an amazing time,
I love this reaction!! This song was part of a movie called "The Prince of Egypt". I just saw this recommended to me! You should react to Mariah Carey Emotions live at MTV Unplugged!! It's so good it will blow your mind!!!
I love this song too my dude! The world blinds too many people to the miracles that happen all the time. While not every miracle is "God speaking to you", not every good thing that happens to you is "by chance". Anyways, I am SO happy both Mariah and Whitney agreed to the soundtrack of "The Prince of Egypt". Even in 2022 the movie still holds up.
"Where do broken heart go" Live Version. By Whitney Houston. It is amazing. (She is sitting on stage on a stool, white dress with the big hair of the 80s).
The best female voices of all time. That's all! Nobody comes close to these two because they not only have/had the voices but they also have/had the successful songs. I love them!
whitney is the greatest, carey can sing, but she aint no whitney, saying it and wishing it dont make it so. someone in power made it happen. sometimes you have to bend to please the money.
@@mothermarlow4914 But Whitney ain't Mariah, Mariah can sing Whitneys song but Whitney can't. And thats a fact. Mariahs Discography is far superior than Whitney plus she wrote most of her song something whitney can't. PERIODT
@@katylamb2714 mariah needs to imitate the untouchable whitney, who was a special one in a life time gift from god almighty. on the other hand, mariah is forced to copy and try to sing like whitney, imitation is the highest degree of kissing ones feet. bless mariah for knowing her place beneath gods chosen, the one and only whitney.
@@mothermarlow4914 Mariah never tried imitating Whitney LoL. if Whitney is Gods gift so does Mariah. You are just bitter that Mariah is more talented than Whitney. Mariah is better musician than your fav so cry about it.
Omg Mariah’s voice is the most beautiful voice I have ever heard!!! WHITNEY’S IS JUST AS Extraordinary! This one goes too Mariah! Her light tone just makes me cry!
This is trully one of the greatest songs of all time. And i even don't listen such music. I'm rock/metalhead but Whitney and Mariah are Whitney and Mariah,. you know...
I will say this, what I loved about this when they did this together, is that they put to rest all the stupid fans who had them in rivalry and "they never were"!!! It was beautiful!!!!!! :)
No No...The one they did at the Oscars was better! Mariah fans hate that one because Whitney Houston completely powered over Mariah! The Oscar performance is the one to react to.
@@bigbof6527 the lies yall keep telling yourself. You could hear Mariah just fine on her verses and everything. When they sung together Whitney overpowered her. Period. Whitney was always a stronger live vocalist any way. So stop with the bullshit. #TeamWhitney.
Mariah carey's voice OMG, this is a great duet by two LEGENDS❤ Please react to the official LIVE performance at the Oscars 1999🙏 You should check more about Celine Dion, Mariah carey, Lara Fabian and Whitney Houston, they have such a uniques and incredible voices, you will like to react to.
That and this song is perfect to merge into the story of Exodus which the Prince of Egypt is derived from. I suggest you watch or react to it. Moses' story of his love for the Lord and his stubborn People are stories within stories. Many cried from the movie just as many cried from Mariah and Whitney. The heart you approach in all this..is undenialble.
Don't know if you've already reacted to it, but Ce Ce Winans, and Whitney do "Count on Me" from the "Waiting to Exhale" Soundtrack, that is comparable to this. You know when Whitney comes in, it's in powerful Whitney style, but maybe a little more mellow than this. Thanks. Take care. 🙂
