In this day and age I think people need this song sung to them! Especially when we are at odds with each other today this song brings a tear to those who truly appreciate and understand the meaning of what he's saying in this song.
Oh my goodness is this a catchy little gem. Forget about genres and whether something is "old school" the fact is talent is talent and that is something that never goes out of style!!
Another HH classic now given the Kenn Wingle rejuvenation! Sounds better than ever! Peter Noone&company should be proud! You’re helping to keep 60’s music alive! Keep posting and stay healthy!👌
Awesome! I'm killing my hearing by cranking this one up LOUD, but I don't care! My second-favorite HH song (behind "I'm Into Something Good") ... most excellent, sir!
This is so brilliant. I want to bring back this sound so badly. I'm a singer and multi-instrumentalist. I wish to play sunshine pop, baroque pop, power pop, and most anything with a friendly, childlike feeling. Yes, I'm trying to start my own band. Would anybody like to join?
It is one of the best bands of the English invasion and one of my favorites. Congratulations on such an excellent job; There are many songs that I would like you to carry out this improvement system, but for the moment, and from this group, I hope you could improve "The man with the cigar". Saludos de México.
Lyrics: Every time I see you lookin’ my way Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? In the car or walking down the highway Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? When you move up closer to me I get a feelin’ that’s ooo-wee (ah) Can’t you hear the poundin’ of my heartbeat ‘Cause you’re the one I love, you’re the one I love When I feel you put your arms around me Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? Then I’m glad, I’m mighty glad I found you Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? When you asked me to meet your ma I knew that, baby, we’d be going far (ah) Can’t you hear the poundin’ of my heartbeat ‘Cause you’re the one I love, you’re the one I love All my friends are cryin’ out to meet you Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? Now’s the time to go and see the preacher Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? Wedding bells are gonna chime Baby baby, you’re gonna be mine (ah) Can’t you hear the poundin’ of my heartbeat ‘Cause you’re the one I love, you’re the one I love Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat? Baby baby, can’t you hear my heartbeat?
Great stuff, Kenn, as always. Another Mickie Most production - he did most of the hits for Lulu, Donovan, and The Animals, among many. One of the great unsung architects of the British Invasion. Written by John Carter and Ken Lewis (Little Bit O' Soul). Carter also wrote Beach Baby. Some awesome talent surrounded Peter Noone.
I loved the enhancement to this song because this is my favorite Hermans Hermits song. Like Buddy Holly was ahead of his time in his music. When he did his song Maybe Baby it sounds a bit similar to the Hermans Hermits. This song the way it was done sounds a bit like similar to Buddy Holly & The Crickets. Most of the British bands were guys from their 20's upwards. The Hermans Hermits were still in their teenage years, and already part of the British Invasion. That's how talented these youngsters were. Most of the teenage girls we go bonkers over them. I certainly miss my Herman Hermits albums I had at one time . They certainly were a great band.
Wonderful work as usual, Kenn. I've got two things to put to you... 1) I have 3 or more CDs with 60s and 70s hits on them. I don't play them anymore. If you have any use for them I will gladly ship them to you free if you give me an address. I'll be checking this comments section daily for your response. 2) There is a song by the Cowboy Junkies called "The Anniversary Song". The problem with it is that the studio mix was terrible. The vocals are practically drowned out by the instrumentals. I've always considered that lyrics are just as important as the instrumentals. I know you're largely into oldies, but if you give this song a listen, you'll see what I mean. It's a really melodious song and it conveys a deep sentiment. Could you/would you consider re-working it? Thanks for reading this long-winded comment. Looking forward to your reply.
Another excellent job! Really appreciate you doing these classic songs from the 60's. Here's a request. Hush by Deep Purple. Out in 1968 have not found a stereo version plus with your magic you could really make this song much better then it sounds now.
You know Al I forget about that song. I wrote it on my list so I'll check into doing that one. It was a favorite of mine back then . Man those songs were so good! Kenn
