Love your videos. If you want to have fish next to the peg you need two things: deeper water (check with the council and see if you are allowed to dig in front of the peg) and second thing you need a structure on the bottom (use a piece of a dead tree trunk).

That aerator is a really good idea. Maybe plant out some more Lillie's for cover. With all those fry about you're better off doing some bfs with a little 11/2 inch a sparkly soft plastic shad/minnow. Get some perch or jacks

Iv got a canal at the bottom of my garden very similar to yours shallow also, iv had 3 carp upto 10lb and around 20 very nice tench and some huge bream. When i first moved in it seemed impossible. my best advice would be to make a weed rake and rake a nice strip in the centre. this will soon scrape back some silt and give you a bit of depth. Raking the silt then fishing on the raked spot a couple of hours later will get you a result the fish come in after the newly exposed naturals. pre bait but never bait loose feed around while your fishing you just want your hook bait out. last hour of daylight and first 2 hours of darkness are best times for a bite. fish a 15mm wafter white or pink with a bite alarm.

Theres a saying in carp fishing and airsoft, "all the gear, no idea" 😂 i love this channel, you guys are my peoples. Don't give up guys, you are living the dream with that stretch and we are behind you and i just know if you keep at it, the swim will kick off 👊

I actually think a couple more of those aerators would be a good idea. Just have a pocket of oxygenated water by your dock and the movement of the water might attracts some bugs/fish., maybe scare away the damn swans as well.

I think the next thing to do, is just dredge the stretch, get it nice and clean, even if you create a few hard patches, that the fish can feed off of.

That feeder is like the bubble gum machine i used to put a coin in as a kid. Every fourth turn there was a lucky gift with the gum. Can you set it so every fourth time a boilie comes out along with a pellet.

My local Canal, Fosseway used to be around 5-6 ft 35 years ago. Now it’s around 3-4. Same as the Ancholme. Shallow, clear and not the fish like there used to be.

Awesome vid guys .....love the bait feeder wicked ....I think the times should be 20 seconds for breakfast 6 am ...then brunch for ten secs at 10 am ....then 20 secs at 12 for lunch .....then 5 secs for afternoon tea at 3 pm ... When I was a kid the local canal had a 4and a bit mile stretch between locks. That i used to fish due to being close from the lower locks up to the top end of the marina you would see and catch large schools of roach , perch ,pike tench etc. but if you went up or down down you would never catch anything or see anything apart from the carp that would patrol between the marina and a winding hole (turn around point) where they were known to be hanging around in on hot summer days the home owners in the other side would tell you where to bait up 😂😂

Try chucking bait in morning about 6-7ish then feed again around 4-5 in eveening for a week then try again with rods thing is youve got a long canal plenty of natural food for fish u need to attract them but dont just happen overnight patience is key but in 18 months that place would of been swarming with fish but u havent fed everday attracting them

As a local, I've walked up that stretch with my lure over the years and there was not a sausage in there (probably because you guys like your sausage!). I think you should stock up the stretch! It now has a lot going for it....all that oxygen :)

3.9 is decent depth got the cut .. that's usually the central track depth . The far side would be a foot deep and we would catch fish on it . Those lilly pads would hold fish during the last hour of day light ... 🌞🎣🎣

The best solution for the weed would be a weed rake, you can make one by just zip-tying two garden rakes together back-to-back and tying a rope to the end. Rake the swim the night before you fish and you'll have a lovely snag-free swim.

If you've got alot of unwanted silt, You could ring the canal and river trust and request a canal boat dredger, That being said - You want some silt.

If its the older birmingham canal it was only dug to 4 foot originally in the main channel , the new canal is 5.5 foot to allow for the heavier loads of coal and iron ore for the black country
