Although Pest & Termites were not part of my Home Inspections, I did look out for this issue during the course of my inspections. Termites can be active year round in the deep south and can be in your home for years without you knowing about it. Just because you had a "Termite Inspection" does not mean you have no termites. It just means they didn't find any in the places they inspected. There are many areas in most houses that are not accessible to inspect. I care more about my home than most Pest Control Companies and as a result I do my own pest control. I have some pretty good videos on how I protect my home from pest. Hopefully they will help you too. NOTE: If you are building a new house from the ground up, I recommend an aggressive pre-treatment of the wood components prior to adding drywall.
