In this video I compare the Autel MaxiCOM mk808s vs Snap-on Modis edge.
This is a comparison to see if the Autel is able to read codes, find all the modules, do functional tests, and live data stream just like the Snap-on is able to do. This is not a "which is better?" video. I own both scan tools and I am not sponsored by either company.

I got the Autel MS906PRO a few weeks ago. I also got a subscription to Mitchell1DIY, I picked the 4 years for $60...Great deal. I went into my Mitchell1DIY account and downloaded EVERY schematic/Wiring Diagram for my vehicle, and also downloaded EVERY Component Test, Operation and Theory etc. I put them all into seperate folders and placed them on my Autel, that way I can use it somewhat like a Snap On with the Component Tests. Also, having the 4 years with Mitchell1DIY, I have my Autel's browser bookmarked to open as Mitchell1DIY just in case I need anymore info. DIY Mechanic here.

I have the MK808s a good tool, I find I can do far more on a Vauxhall Mokka than I can on my Nissan Qashqai, but as you say that's down to the manufactures. A well explained video.

Thxs for such a great video I've had the snap Modis an love it but now retaire I'm using the autel 808 pro an really surprise of its ability to do like way more expensive unit well done

Very good comparison. I'm trying to decide between some different brands but one reviewer states that XTool is one of the only scan tools that can pull pin codes for key/immobilizer duplication. Any experience with trying to pull pin codes from the modules?

Yes, but with the ford factory scan tool, never with the Autel or Snap-on. I will check for you, but I'm pretty sure I saw an immobilizer section on there. Give me a couple of hours and I'll let you know.

Also, when you graph on the Autel you can put that graph on full screen.

I purchased the Autel MK808s and even paid for the additional update costing me $129.00. I connected this to a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon to check the Stop.Start system to see which battery was at fault. It only shows Battery Charging System. Next, I wanted to if the Autel would find the fault for Rear Locker and front Locker. I connected a friend Snap on Scanner and I couldn't believe how the Snap on picked the faults!!! My shop is small so I couldn't afford the Snap on. I also connected my other friends Icon T10 and doesn't do half what the Snap on can do. I may have to spend extra money for the Snap on Scanner!!!

I didn't run into the extra fee for the update, but it might be available to purchase. I don't believe Autel is a replacement solution to Snap-on. So far, I have heard nothing but good thing about Autel. But it doesn't surprise me if it wasn't able to see some features on different vehicles. For the price the mk808s is a great bang for the buck, but never a replacement.

Also if you noticed, the Autel is faster in executing commands than the snap on.

Pls, has Autel (maxicom MK900) finally made it possible to search for the required parameter from the Life data list? Or you still need half an hour to select the right parameters from hundreds. And if you leave the settings page, then everything starts over again... Autel is surprising.

So the takeaway from this video seems to be that mk808s has the same functions as the snapon unit. The snapon costs $4500 more-for that it can fit more live data values on a single page and has a scope feature, which wasn’t detailed in this video. Does this difference mean that the 10x more expensive snapon is actually 10x better than mk808s? I’ll “rush to conclusion” and say no. Price difference is not proportional to the extra features you’d get in the snapon.

Well, the cats out of the bag on this one. Snap-on prices have always been a lot more than the competition. Does that mean they sell better tools, I would say no. But somehow, they continue selling overpriced products. I believe people must find some type of value from using them, like I do. So yes, the mk808s is an amazing scan tool! And for the price, it might be unbeatable. This is the reason why I made this video. I wanted to help some of my viewers that have asked me about an affordable scan tool that would do functions testing. Basically, I wanted to help show how much value the mk808s really has. @@Prolbuilds thank you for making this video. As far as cats being out of the bag, I’d say it more like a lion pride and the whole gamut of subsaharan jungle species are out of the bag, especially given the $4500 price difference. 😂
