I did exactly that ... I bought the insta360 X4 to start my Moto Vlog, because it is so versatile. Ok, it has it's downsides, e.g. huge file sizes in 8K, much post production and less than 4K in the final video, but it's much fun and helps me to go beyond the boring helmet view.
I've watched around 10+ videos about X4, but so far your video is the best. This camera is for fun and you really reflected that perfectly in this video. ❤
[OC] I got the X3 and some sticky lens guards 🤷♂️ Also grabbed 3 years insurance with it - it's going on my bike, there's a possibility it'll get damaged 👍 My main use case is for safety/incident recording. I have a cheap (like £3) camera mount on my handlebars which works fine but i block the rear view - so I've bought a selfie stick and a mount to basically have it hover over my shoulder or something for a better FOV (still waiting on the mount, so can't say how well it'll work). P.S. That little ditty at the end... ummm, it was something 👍
I even turned the "Intelligent Noise Block" off on the Cardo, but it still would only pick up my voice on X4 and not the bike. Needless to say I'm playing with other mic/bike solutions. Another good thing about he Cardo, if you have it connected to the phone, you can listen to your Insta360 video playback if your using the Insta phone app. I was nice while I was reviewing my videos in the field. Realized I was getting to much wind noise. 😒
Great video! I am wanting to get into video capture of my rides. After watching your video I purchased this camera. Specifically for the audio capture features. The only question I have still is, how would one be able to record audio between 2 riders with pack talks, or is additional equipment needed? Thanks again for helping me make up my mind on the right camera for my needs.
Can you make the video on editing and getting the best shots and all the gear required for doing a blog ...I'm going to Vietnam in february and I am riding north from China down to hcmc over 30 days and I really want to film the entire journey ...I have a go pro 10 as well and I want the 360 x4
Looking at 2 camera's for Motorcycle. I want great quality and versatility. Should I look at 2 x Insta 360x4's or 1 x Insta 360x4 & Osmo Action 4 / Ace ???? Just not sure if I can get enough cinematic footage with Insta 360?
I love my X3. Still not seeing the bang for the buck with this one. The idea of higher res is nice, but if its done though AI not sure its worth it. Right now there seems to be nothing better than a bigger sensor and better glass. I enjoyed watching how you set up the shots.
If you're super happy with an X3 then I agree. Just to confirm though the sensors are bigger and you get a higher resolution file. It's not AI. AI is used when you want it to edit your clips for ya.
OC 🧱 About to get my first bike & I’m torn between chin mounted GoPro or windscreen 360, if anyone can share their thoughts would be greatly appreciated. After watching this video I still can’t make up my mind if windscreen/GTA 360 is something I’d use
@@chaseontwowheels thank you for the response! I’m curious to know why you’re saying flat out no GoPro, they’re small and high video quality so thought it might be ideal on the chin. Are you suggesting not to get the GoPro because I then have a more versatile camera for future usability or a different reason, would be great to know your thoughts!
Currently on the fence on X4 vs Action 4. I will be riding to Sturgis and want to film the memories along with moving to Europe and want to film my outing when not on the bike. What would you recommend?
For that situation I'd go with the X4. It's going to be a better camera for overall experiences where I would say the Action 4 is a better dedicated action camera.
The "no music" part of connecting the camera to the Cardo is the reason I don't do it. I tried the setup like you tested and found out first hand what happens. If I don't have tunes, I'm not riding, so that setup is a "no go" for most.
yes, I'm too lazy to Google this... but if anyone can help me with one simple question: can the Insta360 camera display my speed while recording? Thanks!
So the X4 have a 1/4 20 screw hole in the bottom so I just use a 1/4 20 screw to 2 prong action camera adapter and it'll go straight into your normal GoPro/Action camera mounts.
Is that on helmet mount in the front not annoying as hell? It seems like it’s in a terrible spot for the rider it’s like halfway up the face mask directly in front of your eyes?
As always great videos and review on this cam 🥇How is the built in mic for recording? I have a Sena mesh in my Shoei GT Air 2 helmet and the X4 does not connect to Sena as of yet.
OC: Question - when you use it as single lens cam for the POV look for a motovlog, and after you frame the footage and crop it to look like a normal actioncam (with similar FOV), whats the resolution of that footage? its a 4k sensor, so i hope the cropped footage is still at least 1440p? Cheers
hmm, maybe i did not phrase my question good enoug or i dont know some detailed specs.. english isnt my 1st language too, so it does make it harder for me to explain.. FOV of 1 sensor & lense is 180degrees, and 4k, right! ("half the sphere" of the whole 360 mode)? so i guess to crop the FOV from 180 to maybe 120 degrees for using it as a helmet cam, i guess you do crop into the footage too, ergo-facto, you do crop into the 4k footage, making it a bit smaller than actuall 4k? if im still not good enough explaining it, maybe ill leave it just by this one question: the part of the footage you used while in POV mode and used it as a helmet camera, was that footage native 4k, or was it a bit upscaled? p.s. sorry cahse, if you still cant understand what im asking, just ignore this pile of confusing letters 😆
What clamps are used in the GTA shot? I am putting the Manila American Cemetery on Google Street View. What is an "OC" in the comments? Lord forbid, I'm not riding. I'm hiring riders.
Kinda shocked to hear a GoPro is still running that long

@@chaseontwowheelsagreed. The reason I changed to the x4 is because my GoPros all went buggy in no time and I just got fed up with it. Never going back.
No it is not the best 360 camera😁😁😁 GoPro Fusion is far better, you are just sponsored by insta…your biggest influencer sins are coming back to life mate😂 that’s why you lost so many subscribers
@@chaseontwowheels@chaseontwowheels I thought 360 cameras were also action cameras. Has that changed? Anyone who pays gets better, good reviews. People should research properly and don't reply "influencers" because that's what they are.
@@DorianGRMC I guess it depends who ya ask but I don't consider a 360 camera like the X4 and an action camera like the DJI Action 4 as the same style camera. Sure they have some overlap if of how you could use them but I use them as totally different tools for different jobs so I don't consider them the same thing at all. Does that clear that up? Always here to help how I can.
