I purchased one of these a few months ago after watching a different review. I also bought the Solarsaga 60 panels. When I received the E500, it was at 30%, I set up the solar panels and waited 7 hrs for it to hit 100% (70% in 7 hrs is okay with me). I run my CPAP with the heater off, and I can use it 3 to 4 nights (5 hrs on average per night). So if I run it 1 or 2 nights, then set it out to solar recharge, I am in good shape. If I get in a bind, I can charge it through my truck (It has an invertor for 120volt), or I can charge it by cable that I made with Anderson connectors and hook it to my truck battery. When I am at home, I plug into my shore or house power. I have never drained the E500, but I imagine it will charge pretty fast through the AC of my house. I am very happy with this product.

Yooooo J. Nice vid my brotha. I enjoyed it. You basically described me in the 3-4 day weekend getaways. And I do agree that it would be nice to have a 110 plug in for something. But honestly, all I use is a battery powered radio, my cellphone, and a battery fan. But having the large Jackery I can expand to plug in device if needed. Also, I think people need to understand that the PRIME way to get max use out of the Jack is to fully charge it with 110 at home prior to going on your trip and using even an 80 watt solar panel as a way to keep it “topped off”. Oh shit bro, just watched the end of your vid and noticed that you said basically what I did. My bad bro. 👍🏾

Thanks for super helpful video. I’m trying to calculate the fan hours. At full power, 12V x 2.4A = 29W. 500WHr / 29W = 17Hr. At the lower 0.3A setting, I think it works out to 139Hr. Did I make a mistake? Because it sounds pretty reasonable. With the solar panel attached at the same time, it would be even much longer, which might work out pretty good.

Awesome review. I’m going to sub. But I wanted to just update those who might not know. The Jackery 500 in this video is not the latest generation. You can tell by the logo at the top right it is the unit. The newer version of the Jackery 500 features an MPPT charge controller and not the cheaper and less efficient PWM controller. Which means the MPPT version charges about 30-60% more efficiently on the same solar panel compared to the older model. I’m sure my comment could have been worded better, Im no expert lol.

@@HeartInspections Hi Brenda... I use a Resmed Air10 and there is an excellent handout all about using batteries for their devices. They recommend a "Converter" (DC to DC) rather than an "Inverter"... they can explain it all better than me... www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/articles/198103_battery-guide_glo_eng.pdf . There is no one-answer-fits-all because the pressure of your unit and other factors contribute to power use. If you don't have a Resmed device then check your manufacturer for their specific recommendations. The reason I didn't use my humidifier was I wanted to see how long I could stretch it out without a recharge... I figured 7 days was good enough for me so I stopped the test. My CPAP draws about 200wh/night. That is without humidifier so it has less draw. Also I don’t have to lug the humidifier around (it pulls apart for travel). Some can’t go without humidifier. I have just purchased a DC power cord that works off cigarette lighter. I hope to make it last longer since I won’t have to pay for the inverter losses. Good video.

Will the Jackery Explorer 500 be able to recharge EBike batteries? The battery is a Lithium Ion 48v 10.4ah by LG.

I have a smaller version of this thing (Jackery/Honda 290). The rubber feet are really good. I forgot to stow mine and left it on the counter when I drove away, and it didn’t slide off and smash itself or anything. I wouldn’t count on that, but not wanting to slide around is a good feature that people should look for.

Yeah, these things seem to be pretty well made. I left mine out in the rain for a few days and once it dried out, it fired right up!

Hey thanks for the video. I see you have your Macbook Pro 15" just like mine. I only need this system for long road trips where if I am editing in Final Cut Pro, it kills my battery and I normally can't get more than 1.5 hours on a full charge. Would this work and keep my Macbook charged up for at least 3-4 hours? Would it be enough to power the 85Watt laptop while using it or would I have to run on the battery alone, drain it then connect it to get back to 100%?

It would power that macbook pro for days. Sorry for the late reply, just pouring back over comments. Yep, that Jackery was designed to be a beast for portable electronics. I've powered mine for several days since posing this video.

I’m trying to size a solar setup but I’m lost. Mostly I’ll need to run a Linsion 54 Quart RV Refrigerator/Freezer, a Maxx fan and a cpl small electronics. Any ideas on how much solar Id need? This is starting to stress my brain 😂😂😂 I’d appreciate any help so much 🙂
