I hope that as you and your channel continue to grow, and when you have more money and access to expensive things…that you don’t forget this video. It actually got me emotional in some spots, how you really brought back into focus what’s important in life. Your videos, in their simplicity and low production values harken back to the days when people really connected with the average person. I just love that you speak to the 99% of people, and I hope you never lose that humility. You’ve got yourself a new fan.

Beautiful images from that lens. I appreciate older, less expensive gear. Like most hobbies, there seems to be a bit of snobbery when discussing gear. There's no shame in the budget game and this video proves it!

Just found your super video. I like your low key, conversational approach. It's like an afternoon photo walk with a friend. Keep up the good work. As for the Oly 40-150mm f/4-5.6 lens, I agree, it's a real keeper, an excellent piece of kit.

Great video! I love this little lens. Every time I use it, I am surprised at how good it is! I have the 40-150 f:2,8 on my new OM1, but use this on my Pen F and smile every time I review the pictures. Underestimated lens 🤩📷

I lucked out today and bought that lens for 4 dollars at a yard sale, it looks sparkling new, so naturally, I'll be trying it out.

Those photos and videos at the beach after sunset were FANTASTIC! The rest of the stuff was darn good too. I have that lens and it is optically way above its class.

Wow beautiful. I 💙 your content. People need to look at creators like you more often . There’s too much noise out there. Compliment. You remind me of a younger version of Nicholls Chris from the Camera Store in the way you explain the content . Good work man.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I can only dream of being as great as Chris Nicholls one day lol!

I’m late to the comments on this video, but I have and love this lens even up against my premium and PRO level glass. The real negative would quite simply be the speed of the lens, otherwise it’s a very solid performer. It may not be sharp out to the edges, but the centre sharpness performance is excellent. The plastic bayonet mount may actually be an advantage if you ever dropped your camera. The lens mount would likely break before the camera mount body flange and replacement would be inexpensive. It received the “plastic fantastic” nickname with good reason. It performs way above its weight in image quality. The size and weight of the lens make it quite ideal for most travel style photography situations. If you make large prints from images captured using this lens, no one would be the wiser on how good this lens can be. IMHO it pays not to pixel peep, except to perform some image retouching. Oh, and I paid an outrageous $45 for my version of this lens.

Aside from the title giving it away, I would have had an idea only because I have the LUMIX version of this and am very familiar with its limitations. For the money, it's hard to beat, but I'm reaching the point I'm considering upgrading to the 35-100mm. Great channel btw! RU-vid served this up as a recommendation, so you're doing something right!

Great Video! You are so right. I use this lens for two years now and the results are so good. And with Omd or Lumix Cameras even in lowlight conditions no problem.

Not gonna lie, yes, I can instantly see in most pictures it was shot on an entry level lens. Pro lenses usually have this extra nuance of brilliance, better sunstars and are often faster, what easily is visible by the amount of depth of field. However, this lens is so small and light weight, perfect for backpacking where every gram and square cm counts. The image quality is decent for what it is and it is possible to generate nice results.

Hello. Great video with amazing footage and shots! I’ve been having an eye on a small Olympus kit with that lens and en e-mp2. I wish to ask on what body was your lens mounted as I’m concerned with the ibis of the e-mp2. If it’s sufficient enough to stabilise well at 150mm. Thank you.

Hi, I was using my e-m1 mark ii. I've never used the smaller olympus cameras, so unfortunately I can't speak to their ibis capabilities.

Excellent question from a newbie. Keep those questions coming. It's 8 months later, so you probably already know this more general observation--one of the cool things about the micro four thirds (aka MFT, aka M43 or M4/3) lens mount is that it's a standard for a platform, not just for a single brand. Thus all my Olympus lenses fit on both my really old Olympus OM-D E-M10 mk ii AND my somewhat newer Lumix G95. And my Lumix lenses (12-60mm kit and 14mm f/2.5) fit my Oly body as well. Want to buy a third party MFT mount lens from Sigma, Laowa, TTArtisans, or 7Artisans, for example? It'll fit both Oly and Lumix bodies straight out of the box.

does it support 4k or just for HD like lumix 14-140mm II?

you're kidding with a question, don't you? if not..., here's the answer: both ''support'' 8k (40mp) of resolution with ease

90℅ of what I do is covered by either my 11-40 1:2.8 Pro and my 45mm 1:1.8. For those few moments, where I need that reach this should do just fine. Just ordered a new one for 130€, which is sasly what they go for used here as well. So I thought why not get a warranty for the same price.

¿Why is it that no body implements a close up, medium, cowboy and full body shot of a person with the lens wide open? That is what every photographer and film maker want to see.
