Can the Tesla Model 3 be stopped?!

There’s no denying that the Tesla Model 3 is one of the most popular all-electric saloons in the world.
No matter where you are in the world, chances are it won’t take long until you spot a Model 3 driving by - and an all-new edition is due out in early 2024! The question is, will this all-new Model 3 be able to keep hold of its crown? Or could some other all-electric saloons take its place, such as the IONIQ 6, Mercedes EQE or BMW i4?
Well to start off, let’s check out the design of these four EVs. Starting with the new Model 3, there are slimmer headlights up front as well as a big central vent in the bumper. There are new alloy wheel designs as well as some specially designed tyres for the car, and around the back, there’s a set of new taillights and an updated bumper.
On the inside, there are a number of new features. The seats now come with ventilation, and there’s an LED light bar that runs along the side doors and across the dash. The stalks have also been removed from the steering wheel, with indicator buttons now added to it.
Next up we have the Hyundai. The Ioniq 6 has a sleek, swooping body design, coupled with dual spoilers at the back. It comes with a pixelated light design similar to the 5, although it also has a bit of a strange rear bumper design. The sleek looks continue around the front, and all-in-all it’s pretty smart!
On the inside the design is pretty similar to the Ioniq 5. There are good quality materials across the dash, and a large infotainment & digital dial dual screen mounted to the middle of it.
Next up we have the EQE. The outside looks pretty much identical to the all-electric EQS, but it’s just been made a bit smaller. There aren’t any smart creases on the outside either.
Thankfully the interior is much more striking. There are two interior styles to choose from, and both come with an absolutely huge infotainment screen - one of these stretches across the entire dash! The digital dial screens are super smart, and there are soft-touch materials throughout the entire cabin.
Then finally we have the BMW i4, it looks seriously impressive! It comes with the large ‘grille’ design at the front, side skirts along the side, and at the back, you'll find sculptured tail lights and a mini bootlip spoiler.
Step inside and the design is the same as the all-new M3 and M4, so you know it’ll be nice to sit in. But then it’s not a surprise given it’s built on the same platform as the M3!
So they all look nice, but then it comes down to the price. The new Tesla Model 3 will be released in the UK in early 2024 and will cost from £39,990. The Ioniq 6 starts from just under £47,000, and the i4 starts at around £50,000 price tag. But the most expensive car is the Mercedes EQE, which will set you back £69,000!
So which of you think is best? Let us know in the comments!

Keep in mind that the tires impact efficiency significantly. The i4 and IONIQ 6 both had the largest tire and rim size available on them, which lowers their range 15-20% worse than it would otherwise be. The Tesla and EQE in this test had their range-optimised rims on.

Living in Canada, I'd only ever buy a Tesla. The Tesla charge network is everywhere and just works. Lol the supercharger network is absolute garbage in Canada compared to the US, and each provincial hydro company is doing quite a bit of work to install multiple DCFCs around populated areas, on top of the common Flo and Chargepoint chargers. Also this isn't 2016 anymore - road trips are doable in non-Tesla cars, even in the states. Takes a bit more planning for sure, but there are good third party apps out there for you if you don't want to do your own research - A Canadian who's taken a 5000+ km road trip through the US in a non-Tesla EV

The EQE isn't in the same ballpark as the other cars. It's a legit, comfortable, luxury sedan and is more akin to the Model S and Lucid Air than a Model 3, i4, or Ioniq 6 (especially in terms of dimensions). I own a 23 MS Plaid, had a 2019 M3 Performance, and my folks just picked up an EQE 500. I am very impressed with the EQE. It's a wonderfully refined grand tourer for a first effort from MB and far outside the scope of a Model 3.

@@ExBenzi2and yet with all that size, the model 3 has way more storage space and open feeling with the roof. Granted, mercedes’ interior is always going to be far more luxurious.. that’s why you pay half again the price of a model 3.. but you get way more of everything else for your money, in the 3. It’s just a question of what people prioritize for their $. You want efficiency in everything? Or splash out for the cushy leather? Personally.. I can’t stand the Merc EQ designs with that exterior look.. i would literally be saddened every time i walk up to my car. My S is 7 years old.. and still gives me a chubby lol. @ExBenzi2
@ExBenzi2 9 месяцев назад
@@tribalypredisposed Very similar size overall. That’s why it’s more of a MS competitor. Plus, the ride comfort is just on a another level. That goes for the cabin noise as well! The AIRMATIC suspension has got to be one of the best suspensions I‘ve ever driven. Granted, the M3/MS have better room economy and are sportier. However, quality-wise the EQE just feels like a notch above them. Furthermore it has options that you can’t even get for money in a Tesla like massaging seats for example. But hey, buy what suits your needs best :). I’ve had the Tesla experience for a few years, now I gave the Germans a try. Was longing for something different.

Travelling with 2 kids and the missus who said the immortal words, "i hate electric cars" . Im beginning to agree with her. In Jan we bought that gray model 3 dual motor and they are fun. quiet. no oil changes or tune ups spark plugs. no points or condensor or ballest resistor. My 59 Vette with 525hp once rolling would beat it but not off the line! The steering is precise and you never have to put feedback into the steering wheel, unlike a vette and most cars... We also have a glass tesla solar roof to plug into.... I say get one, the price is good the car is great

Here in Germany you see a lot of Teslas but at the same Time you also see a lot of Skoda, Seat, Cupra, VW, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi etc etc. EVs. I noticed a lot of Americans especially are surprised by that, mentioning lower Range, but Range believe it or not is not as important in most of Europe as you rarely need a crazy high Range for Work, Business Trips etc. While in the USA everything is much further apart, so Range matters more. Also f.e. here in Germany at least you will have a hard Time NOT finding a Charging Station everywhere. So it's difficult to experience Range Anxiety here. My point being: Many People buy Legacy Brand EVs because they care more abot Customer Service and of course have Brand Loyalty because of Good Experiences. So it's not rare to see someone prefer an Audi, VW etc. EV over a Tesla even if the Price is around the same or even more expensive. Prost & Cheers from Germany
