Lots of Minnesota sports fans (me included) have been taught over time to expect the worst out of our sports teams, but after watching the Suns series I genuinely believe that we can beat the Nuggets and maybe even win it all. Crazy era for us Wolves fans.

This is a team built by a former Nuggets exec specifically designed to beat the Nuggets in the playoffs. Will it work? No guarantees, but Jake's right. It's gonna be a bloodbath and I think the Wolves have got what it takes to win a bloodbath.
In the playoffs, the bench usage is so low and so rarely more than a couple players at a time, it doesn't matter much. During the Lakers series, Nuggets starters were mostly 40+ minutes.
The Lakers were able to make Denver struggle at times, and held leads for large parts of the series. Why? The Lakers aren’t committed to D like the Wolves, and don’t have the depth. It took a last second shot for them to beat the Lakers(last game). The Nuggets didn’t look sharp at all. Any body have input into what that series tells us about them and their match up with us? 🤷♂️
The laker offense is best equipped to beat Denver outside of Boston , Where Denver gets you is the small lapses throughout the game where they go on a 10-0 12-0 run in a min n a half .. and if it’s close down the stretch that’s where they really shine .. wolves best shot is gonna be ant man replicating his suns series efficiency
AD is arguably Jokic's most difficult matchup in the league and the Nuggets were shooting terribly. They were making wide open 3s at more than 10% worse than their regular season average. If they hit only their wide open 3s at their season average, they'd have blown out the Lakers in 4. Tldr: the Lakers didn't do anything especially right, the Nuggets were just in a shooting slump.
@@BenGreen1980 you can’t narrow it down to just a slump for 1 side and not the other , Rui gabe and DLO also didn’t shoot their season avgs either .. the fact is we guarded the nuggets offense well enough to bring their averages down even on the open shots

Because I know for a fact open three looks happen very rarely against the wolves. Finchy calls time outs, if teams get open looks, it’s just unacceptable for them. I did hear the analysts say, Jokics efficiency goes to 30% when guarded by the wolves too. They put KAT on him and let Rudy roam(daring Gordon to shoot from three). Meanwhile taking away his passing options. It doesn’t workout every possession, sometimes there’s breakdowns… but being the #1 D, they are very consistent with their parameter D and staying attached to their man and helping out in coverages.

@@johnshottie4415 - The same can be easily said about your take. You clearly don't watch anyone but the Wolves play the Nuggets. The Nuggets adapt strategies very easily because anyone on their team can go for 25 points on a given night so they aren't scared to feature whoever has the hot hand or the easiest matchup. Jokic will eat KAT alive if they leave him in single coverage all the time and Gobert can only help so much without leaving Gordon open in the dunker or on cuts. I don't think this will be an easy series for the Nuggets at all, but your prediction that the Wolves take it in a gentleman's sweep shows your lack of understanding of the Wolves' opponent and the fact that would require 2 wins on the road out of 3 games.
