GSW fan, and watching vids like this is interesting because it seems MIN and DAL both chose to improve by exchanging some of their top defense for offense to be more well rounded. GSW on the other hand added a lot of defense in Anderson, Melton, Quenten Post, and just not playing Klay and CP3
I will not miss kyle, the amount of times i saw that man pump-fake a three point shot with NO ONE around him then proseed to drive in for a lay up/ floater just to miss or turn the ball over fucking killed me.
That was his only way of scoring unfortunately, by dominating the ball, and there isn’t much room for that in a 4out offense. Especially with Ant out there.
SloMo was Finch's safety blanket. Figuring out how to win without him is good for this team long-term. As for Ingles, he has had a great career, but he might be cooked.
Why don't we Timberwolves really look to get the very best, the tallest the best three point shooter that is all it really take Three point Tall players
Joe played for the Aussies last night in a pre Olympic warmup against China, and if you looked at his box score, it was meh. Watch the game however, and its a different story. A clear win for the Wolves
I have no idea what everyone sees in SlowMo lol. The dude was so painful to watch play basketball. Everything he does ruins pace. He is a big that can't big, can't defend in space, literally refuses to shoot even if it's a free throw, and didn't even pass well even though that's the one thing he's out there for. No idea why people think Kyle's defense was good, dude was helpless in isolation.
you mau have miss, the art of pick'n'roll he's got, specially with gobert, he plays extremely well with him you can absolutely count on him for a lefty lay up after a gobert screen, and a pass/lob to rudy per game... (plus gobert, will help erase a bit what he's lacking in speed on D , because, he's got kind of the same BBIQ than Kile..)
If all you look at is losing Kyle and gaining Ingles we lose that swap. However, factoring in Dilly, Shannon and Miller we should be easily better than last year.
Will give us better shooting but a worse defender & playmaker . Although I'd take him at the minimum over slo mo at 9 mill a year . Spacing will be improved curious if jaylen Clark can earn a role with him being a elite defender id say he's got a chance if he can be even a okay shooter
Slomo was one of the first Wolves pick-ups to bring defensive intensity mindset to this team along with PatBev and they'll always have a place in the hearts of Wolves fans. But this was a needed move.
yep. i hope he plays well for them. i think golden state's offensive schemes and pacing should be able to highlight some of his offensive talent better than we did.
The moves made by My #Wolves are a big upgrade for the team! I have no they addressed the issues they had during their playoff run and are now in position to make the finals with the players they drafted and the ingles pick up! Everyone is looking at the mavs because of Klay Thompson and they will be a good team but he’s also on the back side of his career with kyrie Wolves 🏆🏀 2025 Champions
The biggest factor (imho) in determining if this is a good swap out is going to be the health of the Timberwolves this coming season. If they can stay relatively healthy and just rely on Ingles to do what he's still good at, this is an improvement. But if there are injuries, we will be missing Kyle's utility badly.
Worse... Wtf are we talking about? Joe is done. Great guy but he's done. Why give him minutes that we should be giving to our rookie? Are we a vet or young team?
He literally got a veteran minimum deal. If you are right and he is done as you say than Garza and Miller will get more minutes. Not alot of options in the 2nd Apron. Could be worse
Okay.. they lost Slomo.. and Marcus Morris, who barely played. Now have a Bench of Naz Reid, NAW, Dillingham, TSJ, Ingles, PJ Dozier They are actually quite a bit deeper then last year. The essentially added 4 players to their depth.. while replacing 1 and a half? Apparently, you do StillKeepOnLosing, especially with this really bad ball take.
@StillKeepOnLosing did you miss the part where Bloomberg joined the ownership team and made them the 2nd most wealthy in the NBA? The fact that they have 12 under guaranteed contracts, 1 under partially guaranteed, and 2 2 ways already? Even over the 2nd apron you can sign minimum players, which Ingles and Dozier were. There are many teams in history that were willing to pay luxury taxes to get a ring. And one of the final 4 teams and 7 games away from a ring is pretty damn close. Shows the life you have to troll on an obscure Wolves youtube channel, just because you clearly have no confidence in yourself or your teams yo get anything done. And fyi.. the trade up and drafting of Dillingham already occurred over the 2nd apron. It signaled clearly they were backing up spending into the luxury like they already said they were.
@@RANDOMPLANET Doesnt mean anything son. Ya already hit your ceiling and ya never even got close lol. When Utah Jazz both retires or fall off a cliff which likely to happen then bye bye.
Depends on if he wants to play some defense this year. I agree, there's a ton of potential there. But maturity and defensive intensity have been lacking. Given that the bottom of the bench is being emptied out to a great extent this off season, he's got a big opportunity in front of him.
As much as I loved Slo mo, Joe Ingles was someone I've wanted on the team for the longest time. He's a guy who can run the pnr and make great decisions. He already has great chemistry with Rudy. He's also a 3pt shooter somehow. Now his defense isn't as good as slo mo's, but he is a solid man and team defender. He's not gonna have those slo mo swipes/poke aways, but he's gonna stay solid. Overall great pickup imo.
The wolves always get guys way past their prime. but seeing as how he didn't play well for the magic can you say why he should take minutes over a guy we just drafted and isn't on the one year old jazz timeline?
@@Marcus-kc9wc because he has tons of experience and already has chemistry with some key players in rudy and mike? Also he can stretch the floor and be a secondary play initiator? Or do you think dillingham and tsj can do all those things consistently enough for finchy to play them over ingles? Of course they're gonna get some minutes but as a team with high expectations and in a super competitive west, i see little reason not to play ingles. We will see how he looks on the floor.
@@Marcus-kc9wcwho are the wolves signing that are always past their prime? Ingles is a 3 point threat career 41% last yr almost 44% the wolves need more spacing and shooters, its exactly what the wolves need. Ingles can also get the ball to the playmakers.
@@Marcus-kc9wcI think it’s good. If that Shannon Jr struggles at least their is a bit of insurance in that position. Also I think we have a chance to get Minott and Miller some time on the floor and see what they can be on the big stage. Signing Ingles is not going to take those opportunities away. The Wolves with Edwards need to build a consistent contender and that means that guys around Edwards age range need to be able to show what they can do imo.
@Marcus-kc9wc having two non shooters on the court is really rough, and it was seen all last year. Even if Ingles averages less points than kyle, their offense likely improves based on efficiency and floor spacing alone
Joe Ingles has been one of the most consistent defensive performers his entire career, what are these drugs y'all take that make you think Kyle was a good defender?
I dont think it is for the better. Ingles is a good pick up but kyle was the hearth and soul of the team. Doing the dirty work and spacign the floor with his all around play
Kyle's spacing was the problem. He would clog lanes all the time and defenders could double team someone else if Kyle stayed out by the 3 point line... It was a huge problem all year.
@@therealme8783 how many games has kyle played great defense? How many games has his overall game helped us? He was an important aspect in defense, yes, not starting 5 material but to have that kinf of a bench player was important
@@clownslayer4670 he's a great bench guy and I loved what he provided. Heart and soul was just a stretch. If I had to choose one guy who was that on def I would have to go with rudy
