Miss Royale’s style is closer to that of the French Rococo style that is often linked with Marie Antoinette. It’s know for it’s pastels and over the top everything. ( I love fashion history so I had to point it out)

Major Lady does give off a Ziggy Stardust/Bowie vibe with the make-up, stars. lightning bolt, and jumpsuit. I don't listen to his music much but I recognize the style even just looking up photos of him.

@NextJen Miss Royale's skirt cage is called a "crinoline" or "hoop skirt." It's used to fluff out the top skirt that's for show and the different names refer to slightly different shapes or materials of the skirt cage, as far as I know.

the name Major Lady (ground control to Major Tom (Space Odditie)) gives me David Bowie vibes.... but the costume gives me extreme Elton John vibes

I love that they are mostly dolls of colour. Lol has never skimped on skin tone

I use flat head pins to make doll earrings, so maybe you can use that to fix B-Gurl's earring

I feel like Lols are either gorgeous or completely hideous 😂 there is only one line that's a complete win for me and that's the present surprise. The packaging is even made out of cardboard - no unnecessary balls!

You could contact MGA online and ask them to send you a new earring. I was able to get a replacement doll one time when I contacted them with a quality complaint. As long as you tell them within thirty days of purchase, I believe they can help you. That pink color blouse looks so nice on you by the way! Thanks for sharing the details of these dolls!

I'm completely living for the David Bowie inspired doll! MGA has really been killing it lately.

LoL dolls are cute, I love how colorful and different they are. But the number of defects that happen in EVERY lol doll video is just really sad. They aren't cheap, they need better quality control.

I'm so freaking proud right now! When Jen showed Major Lady's dance guide I couldn't resist singing Magic Dance from the Labyrinth, and then she said that she's inspired by David Bowie! And I mean, the cape just solidified it. Amazing reference from my favorite movie as a teen ❤❤❤❤

I really want to get Major Lady because of her red hair and heterochromia. The bright orange of the shoes and bracelet is a questionable color in her color scheme though. Just doing them in shiny or glittery silver to match the cape would have looked much better.

The LOL OMG dolls are cute, but I haven't really seen one I particularly want until now. I have to get Major Lady. As a major (slightly obsessive) David Bowie fan, practically since birth 🤣, I can see all the references. The outfit style not only mimics one of his early 'circus' inspired outfits, but it makes reference to two others. The sparkly blue suit he wore in the video for 'Life on Mars?' and the really awesome outfit he wore for a fashion shoot. I can't remember what it was called off the top of my head, but it was a big black and white striped outfit that flared out to look a little like a vinyl record (at least that's what I see) at the legs. The shoes are a reference to his Spiders from Mars days when he wore a lot of moon boots and tye-dye leotards, as well as a small vibe of Hunky Dory? And the cape gives a little bit of a Major Tom vibe (as well as the name obv). The hair colour is also reference to the days towards the end of SFM and early solo career when he dyed his hair luminous orange. The lightning bolts are reference to the Aladdin Sane phase, and stars to his final phase 😭 Black Star.

These dolls are really growing on me. Love them or hate them, you can't deny that the fashions are creative and new. The stylists are pulling from mutliple eras, but none of the dolls looks like a direct ripoff of any particular brand or star. I'm really impressed. Whoever is the stylist for this line of dolls is just knocking it out of the park.

I've never liked the "look" of those OMG dolls. The cutest faces on a doll I've seen lately are the NaNa Surprise ones. I asked for one for Xmas and now have 3! Lovely dolls with lovely clothes. I'm working (slowly) on making a sewing pattern for clothes for them.

Miss Royale gives me Madonna at the 1990 MTV Awards vibes with the Rococo fashion. Voguing is so cool and I like that they made a doll inspired by such an important part of gay culture. I really like her and Major Lady a lot.

I’m not sure if anyone said this, Miss Royal’s extra skirt piece actually goes around her neck, over her arms and is supposed to Velcro at her back. I think it’s supposed to be a collar/extra ruffled sleeves according to some pictures I’ve seen.

You maybe can superglue a sewingpin on the earring, thats how we used to give our barbies earrings.. that was in the era where barbie came without earrings, like in 1983 😄

You can use a pin or a short piece of wire glued to the back of the earring. I'd say use a pair of nail clippers or something similar to make the back flush first, so you've got a fairly flat surface to work from. I really dislike that there is such a high frequency of flaws. I mean, I remember flaws in the clothes of dolls as a kid, which means they could have been just as frequent, but I don't like the idea that most of the dolls have an obvious flaw or multiple flaws. It just strikes me as uncaring of the audience, just because they're kids.

You can temporarily attach earrings and other small accessories with blue tack or something similar. I use this method for my Lps if they need to hold or wear something for a stop-motion scene. You could also try to glue a toothpick or a little bit of wire to the broken pice

You could try krazy glue for that earring piece that broke off. I personally get scared using it, but I've broken tiny pegs on doll things before and it's the only thing that has worked for me.
