As someone who wants to collect dolls but currently lives with my parents and thus has no room to collect them. Just know that I am living vicariously through you and these reviews.

Never thought my random obscure knowledge would come in handy lol! The Tiffany blue color is actually trademarked!! Which as an artist seems ridiculous but sadly its not the first time and won't be the last :( there is an artist though Stewart Semple and he recreates paint in these trademarked colors (vanta black, Tiffany blue) and sells them! Its really interesting just reading his story and history with Anish Kapoor. They probably picked Robin so they could pass it as "Its Robin egg blue not Tiffany blue" to be safe

Her name is from the pink color of “pan dulce” Mexican sweet bread, they’re also called conchas. The pink one is like the most iconic color. 💗💗💗

i love how she explains everything about the doll in detail,, it really makes it easy for blind doll lovers to imagine what it would look like

I understand that these are more intended for the older collectors market, but even then i know a lot of folks (myself included) who like to take our dolls out of the box to pose and display them, and that includes changing the fashions around. It doesn't make sense to put so many plastic ties on all of the clothes as if they dont want you to ever take them out or change them around at all ever. What a weird choice.

The cat slippers' colour actually make sense on that scale Jen. Tricolor cats exist with simple large spots all over as markings, they are calico cats, and there is a lot of them, much more than the classic mainly white with some large black/orange/brown cats ^^

So, there is dolce (Italian with the ch sound) and dulce (Spanish with the s sound). It’s a lovely showing of their Latin roots despite the differences. ☺️

As much as I like the quality of RH, I can’t get over all the defects. I can’t imagine spending at least $50-60 CAD for a doll with blue paint on her face, so these dolls will always be an instant pass unless they manage to fix their quality control

Also character-wise, I refuse to believe that these girls are all arts majors. Sleepover attire for us was a big mens t-shirt, flannel pajama pants, and a sleeping bag that used to belong to a sibling or cousin that has a weird stain on it from being out in the woods. I've never seen an animation major look that well put together lmao I get big vibes of "these are the girls that would have bullied me in high school"

They're definitely going for a Tiffany look- the eye mask is actually a reference to Holly Golightly's sleep mask kn Breakfast at Tiffanys!

Did they actually intend for kids to play with these dolls or just look at them in the box? I've never seen a doll with so many plastic pieces securing things down. I would have been so frustrated trying to take it apart as a kid.

These made me think back to what my outfits were when I was a kid going to sleepover partys. I am pretty sure it was an ugly green nike shirt with my unmatching very-90's-Saved-by-the-Bell-type patterned pajama pants. And my sleeping bag was the faded one we used for camping lol! 😄 Not sure I would have been invited to this party!

The little clippers tool is called a cuticle trimmer. I'm a tools nerd...lol. And yes, I use them for exactly this reason.

WOW so many small issues that make these dolls like, unhandleable. "But it's for adult collectors" we like to put them in different outfits and pose them too!

A suggestion for the holes in the fabric: Iron it. Be very careful because the fabric might melt, but try adding heat. Heat will shrink the holes. When sewing, running an iron over your seams helps to do that exact thing. You might want to try putting a light towel over the top of the clothing or use a VERY cool setting, but it might be worth the try!

The amount of little plastic things one doll has is ridiculous! Maybe why they've raised the price so they can afford to add 10x more jibbers! No one wants nip holes... I only really love Robin out of the 3 but even then I might have to wait for a sale or price reduction.

I had so many dolls when i was little and i never got over them. My grandmother just made me get rid of them and I was so sad. I'm 18 and would still play with dolls. I have a big imagination and love to make stories and play it out with them. It always helped me make the stories. I love your content so much and, once I move into the new house I have, I will start getting dolls again.

For a $60 I sure hope bending the knee once won’t BREAK IT! I don’t know how you’d get to do anything with these dolls with the constant worry of breaking things

I do remember girls wearing the Juicy sweat suits. I never did because I didn't want writing across my backside! I wasn't skinny growing up, and so adding more stuff across my wide hips and backside to pull attention wasn't a thing.

I have a love hate relationship with this set. On one hand, they are gorgeous looking dolls with an amazing level of detail. On the other hand they are $50 which almost twice the price of the standard doll. Considering the price, that poor quality control on Robin's paint is inexcusable. There is no need for the second outfit on a pajamas doll, which are usually the budget dolls. I do like at least one of the alt outfits, but they are unnecessary. I would rather the dolls be cheaper than have a second clothing set. Maybe if this set hadn't come out at the same time as both a new set of six standard dolls and another set of three band dolls and the winter set still being out I wouldn't be so hesitant on this one. But they are putting out too many higher priced dolls all at once. I really love these dolls, but I don't have the money to shell out over $150 on just three of them. (Though I did luck out by finding two of the new standard dolls for $15 on clearance at a Walmart. So that was nice).

Sadly it seems like rainbow high dolls are going up in price and down in quality from what I’ve seen dolls are hardly fully rooted in anymore

A thought that comes to my mind with Brianna Dulce is that she might be inspired by Dolce and Gabbana since that's another fairly luxurious brand? I don't doubt that she's also themed with sweets, it just came to mind since the others are so inspired by luxury

I will say, I LOVE the fact you explain things so well. My eyes don’t see the tiny details as well because I need new glasses I can’t afford ATM. I see good enough but not 20/20 with my glasses. Also, I can’t watch videos in 1080p because my internet isn’t perfect I can usually do best at 480p sometimes 720p so the details don’t come in perfectly.

It is funny how the pillow says never let anyone burst your bubble but they burst the bubble with the plastic tags

I'm actually surprised at how big of a fan I am of this collection! References galore :') Robin is definitely Tiffany Blue, but also what you said, a Robin's blue and maybe that's how the marketers got around the trademark because the name implies the egg color and robins' eggs come in various blue hues. Marissa Golding has Supreme and Champion brand vibes. I'm pretty sure the "Sparkle" logo is inspired by Supreme. Makes sense since she's athletic.

Honestly, Dulce is such a mood I bet her slippers make squeaky noises when she walks

Haha, that bit about the going to school in those style pj's was so true! Our school tried to own it and had scheduled pajama days as an attempt to subtly pressure kids in to wearing normal clothes the rest of the time. I'm glad you've started doing some Rainbow High, I collect those and not the OMG's so these reviews are more relevant to my interests.

It’s not “official” Tiffany blue; Tiffany and Co. actually trademarked the exact shade of blue they use for packaging.

Jen, here's a tip for the hair if you want curls! Take a metal chopstick, heat with a iron/other methods, and wrap the hair around the chopstick! You can also use a metal straw! Just make sure to gently pull the straw/chopstick down as to not mess up your work!

These are the ones i want the most at the moment. Totally bypassing the winter line and the music ones 🤣 The first doll is my fave, then the pink, then the gold. I bought extra Krystal baileys to customise at least one in another pastel shade whilst waiting for this Robin to come out 💎💙 Awesome video 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

My Robin has an effed up paint job on her face, as well as edges that are painted outside of the lines and splashed onto her brow bone, but I love her dearly she is gorgeous

As a belated birthday present to myself (it was Oct. 29th) I spoiled myself and got Brianna since she looks EXACTLY like my ACNH character in doll form and I just HAD to have her lol. No regrets cause she's so pretty!

Dolce (Dole-chay) is Italian, while Dulce (Dull-say) is Spanish, but they mean the same thing! Both are equally correct, just depends on the language you're speaking. In reference to the doll though, it's Dulce 😂

Really appreciated this video, Jen! I have been debating these dolls, but the almost 50 dollar price seemed high, especially since I already knew I wanted the new music themed dolls. Robin drew my eye right away too! I couldn't believe the ridiculous amount of tags you had to remove, I find them stressful also! Thank you for this very thorough review:-)

I'm wondering if Brianna is supposed to be rose gold, to go with gold and sterling silver- Briar rose is one of the sleeping beauty fairy tale variants, which would work in the sleepover theme

Also with the crunchy hair, I always shampoo and condition my dolls before brushing them. It's so much easier

I do think these dolls are so gorgeous, but I've only bought them when they're on sale. I love how many colours they've done! Hopefully the quality control gets better, though...

When you tie a bow that twists off in a wonky direction, try to remember which way you tied it and retie in the opposite direction and it should be a stronger not wonky bow. X

Cuticle nippers are great for so much! I also have a tool for jewelry making called a flush cutter that works great for cutting off tiny jibbers. And I too miss the days of pajama pants as fashion. Victoria's Secret used to have the coolest, most comfortable pajama pants and I practically lived in them😅

I keep coming back to Jen's videos so I can listen to her pretty voice. It's just a nice, soothing voice that makes me very happy

Most of the problem I have with these is the extreme sameface syndrome they have... I got the boy for collection purposes and he's pretty sturdy, at least. There's another girl with a lovely face sculpt, mostly because her eyes look different from the rest. QC with them is better than the OMGs get. There's a "my size" version coming to shelves for the Xmas season. The price point of $97(!!!!) makes me weep, but it looks like it has articulated legs, unlike say the comparable Barbie.

I absolutely love Robin too. She's gorgeous. I wanted to get Brianne and glad I waited for this review. I think they are all special.

the best thing i can say about these dolls is that because of the articulation, there's now a decent alternative to old monster high dolls for people that repaint them!

I feel like these dolls are best kept in box seeing as they have so many defects you can see out of box.

You could try to use some 100% Acetone (nail polish remover) to remove the blue color splotch! But be careful with that, you could accidentally remove the whole eye.

as someone who has been learning to sew doll clothes for the past 10 months, watching you check quality makes me nervous since i hand stitch them all and always worry about not doing a good enough job lol. also, i would love to get robin because she's my favorite color.

For anyone who reads this, the knees sometimes get stuck if the doll is kept in a warm room, which makes the plastic softer, and once it goes cold again, it can get stuck with the other piece. What I do when that happens is, instead of applying force, try to bend it one little notch at a time. Eventually, the knee joint will "give up", so to speak, and will start to work as intended. However, unless you live in a really cold place, you need to bend their knees every now and then, or they get stuck again. These dolls are quite high maintenance, not gonna lie.

Robin is such a *pretty* doll. I love her eyes.

Robin is so gorgeous. Teal is my favorite color and it compliments her skin tone so beautifully. I have a very small collection of dolls, and I'd love to add her, but with all the potential defects I'd be super wary adding any to my collection, especially for 50 USD. Maybe if she goes on sale.

$21.54 was the lowest I ever saw on Walmart but never in stock for here in the US. I was able to get Robin & Brianna for $29.06 each Marisa has been the hardest to find online & in store they do sometimes go up to $48.88 too online and in store I believe that’s always the price here. I do wish with winter break, slumber party and rock star that it was just one outfit instead of 2 just anything would be nice to lower the price when giving extras like I’d rather see the 2nd outfits sold as fashion packs 🤞👍👍👍

I'm not really sure if I'm gonna be collecting dolls, as I only just began gathering the Sweet Crush dolls (Found them discounted at my job and I fell in love with their designs), but watching this channel brings me ease over wanting to purchase toys again. I can't piece together what brings such a yearning for it, and I'm not exactly sure how long I'll be invested in this lil new hobby... but I am thankful for these videos as they help validate the interest : ) I also feel a lil embarrassed being a guy that wants to collect these cute things but I need to not get so shy over it. Same as with artists brushes being shipped, the product in the hair is essential for shipment and for the style to keep.I believe it’s a type of starch that they use. That way it is easy to brush out.

"Yes Jen you are" I just came back to this video after picking up my first RH doll ( for modding) I picked up Skyler from the winter break collection. I needed your video to open the package .

So the little plastic things that attach the clothes together are done with a fabric tagging gun. It's basically a gun with a hollow needle, and the plastic tag fastener goes down the needle when you press the trigger. Slide the needle out of the fabric and it's left in place. So it's the needle that causes the damage to the fabric because it needs to be much bigger to let the plastic tag through. In fact, when I worked in a clothing store that used them, we always called them dammits because that's what you said whenever you needed one. Like "Dammit, I lost the price tag." We had to be very careful about where in the garment we put the tag or else we'd get customers asking for a discount because the needle gun had caused a hole.

I started grade 9 in 2003. Couldn't afford a track suit and had very little parental supervision so I wore plaid pj pants to school every single day. Well, every day until my best friend "panced" me in front of the entire cafeteria. The early 00s were a wild time, man.

Very good detailed review (spotting all the imperfections too ! lol). I like RH but not as much as everyone else. I did not jump into the bandwagon either. I am glad now because I can pick the one (or eventually ones) I like the most in new lines. I have space issues and I don't want to end up with tons of RH dolls in my collection. They look all too similar despite the colours, new eyes and new face molds. I find them a bit lifeless. It is difficult to describe, I would say beautiful but cold (if it makes sense). They are good as display dolls but I find them totally unsuitable for proper play for children. I like to handle my dolls. I never feel like handling them or redressing them. Also too many defects with these dolls. I find RH to have more issues than omgs. The main issues I had with omgs are messed eyes paint. I never had any issues with their bodies. I don't like the plastic of RH dolls bodies. It looks kind of cheap. Anyway, I don't buy MGA products full price anymore, nope! I had the same issue with one of Krystal knees. I managed to move it a bit but I stopped... thinking... she has a beautiful face, no major issues, good eyes, great hair, no rooting defects, her legs are well attached to her hips... it would be a shame to break the knee... lol 😄😁😆 and she will only be displayed... so stop messing about with that bloody stiff knee! 😆😉

Dear NexJen I love this video. Dolls like this, though, aren’t really my cups of whiskey, I like the softer, bigger characters you can sleep with and love up to. If you haven’t seen my health product, I dropped about a zillion and one things in that video, it’s called “health product and technical difficulties. I didn’t take it down because it shows my human side. Also I added some new things to your playlist, mainly products and junk I thought you might like. Also, I like that you can put them in their hmmmm outfits so they can sleep, nice touch for kids who are having a real sleepover. I’ve had one of those as a kid and it was fun. I’ve seen these dolls, and wanted them but I’ve held off!! Good I saw you review them,

Seeing all the defects/flaws in these 3 dolls makes me not want to ever buy them. I can never understand why doll companies allow such poor quality control in their factories. Even if it's in China, the company is paying for products which the consumer is expecting quality for these ridiculously high priced dolls. I get so tired of seeing products sent here with numerous problems and the consumers should start demanding better quality. I can see a rare doll getting sent out but come on it is past unacceptable. They are pretty dolls but not worth the money. All the dolls from many companies are arriving with way to many defects. I am picky about my dolls. I won't keep a flawed doll and I shouldn't have to repair a new doll. Take care.

I paid 50 for the Robin doll. I love her so much, found her by a miracle of a chance, and haven't found any since. The price? Awful and painful. In my opinion, they're worth maybe 45. 40 fits better.

I only have two Rainbow High Dolls, I think they are both from the second series, Bella Parker and River Kendall, the only boy. Hooowever, I just got this year's OMG LOL Collector's Edition and "NYE Queen" is absolutely gorgeous. Check her out of you have the chance, I love her design and her stand. So pretty. :D

You could take a q-tip or toothpick and try to get the paint splotch off with some acetone. Just be very careful! Also, it's probably as close to Tiffany's blue as they can get without getting a lawsuit. 😄

Yellowing typically happens when the glue or plastic gets too hot. So it might have happened during transit or in the factory.

The clippers that your using are called cutical cutters, typically used for nails but hey, they work for tiny giggers too.

Hi! If you want to get rid of the gel you’ll need to wash her hair because if you just brush away the gel it will damage the dolls hair and it’ll be very challenging to get rid of in the future and if you get a doll that has damaged (not because of the hair gel) hair you can fix that by boil washing :D

Those jibbers drove me crazy...absolutely crazy. I can feel a tick in the back of my head every time you came across one. Absolute madness. lol

I always wait to buy any new things that come out. Toys, electronics, etc. Usually the first couple of waves have tons of defects. (learned this from working in technology sales and repair)
