I started taking the ferry a bit myself. I've seen whole ass delivery style mopeds on the ferry among other beasts. That dude definitely was feeling some kind of way that day or sumthin.

@@JB360_NYC if your motor magnets are 65mm it's ok! If it's 60 mm as mine, max power can give is 85-90% And make thicker your phase wires (10 awg or 8 awg) !!! Whatever your motors are!!😘

The traffic isn't that bad it's just the way he's riding it though the vehicles. The gravel on the other hand has always been pretty rough on those electric bikes and scooters. Also you have to be careful of some of those taxis because they won't let you get through.

Great video JB!!! I'm loving those side panels (what those the writing on the panels mean? If you dont mind) According to what I hear with different officers, if you dont have pedals the bike ain't considered road legal. Is always a judgment call from the officer but places like Times Square where they like to do sweeps, no pedals kiss the bike good bye i been told. Yo this is super dope! Curious is it still dual motor? If so, are you wiring both controllers together to the battery? & is it both wires combined to the throttle? I plan to build a roadrunner up after two other e-bikes I’m building. Keep inspiring us brother!

Yes still dual motor. My throttle is basically linked to the throttle for controller 1 and 2 so they work simultaneously. The signal wire is tapped into both controllers.

Hey JB. I commute a similar route as you. Are you still taking the Road Runner onto the SI Ferry regularly? If so, have they given you any trouble outside of that one incident?

On the SI side they don't care about the pegs but I'm starting to think it's the Manhattan side that sort of look for it. The guy that gave me crap was the security dude in the late afternoon (like 7pm on) he looks just like Paul Mooney. I think before 7pm should be fine to get into the SI one. If they give you trouble you can just take the battery park one that goes to St. George (it's like 4 bucks) and they don't care about pegs.

Yes these are technically legal in NYC since they are categorized as a scooter. The only issue you will really face is getting on the Staten Island ferry where they only allow ebikes with pedals and stand up scooters.

Sweet ride! But that is the worst spot on the bike to put the controller!😧 Please relocate the controller to above the battery somehow or on top of the frame between your knees 😩

Is the dual crown suspension a direct fit or did you have to trim the frame?

Direct fit for the stem. Just make sure you keep the original headset from the RR. Also I ended up replacing the quill stem inside as well to fit my new handlebars.

Wolf king gt is a beast! I would say definitely be prepared for any moves from cars and always try and be 3 steps ahead. As long as you watch out for cars blindspots you'll get more comfortable riding on the roads. Also, always assume everyone can't see you.

No issues with the fuses as the phase wires are fairly thick and can handle the current.

The biggest tire you can go on this frame is 14". Unfortunately there aren't many 14 inch motors that fit my frame that are high powered so these 12 inch motors are the only ones.

@@JB360_NYC also you should configure your battery in a 134v pack, you’ll gain greater efficiency and thus way more power, instead of hitting over 70, you’ll be hitting around 90

@@retrograde330 the tire size definitely makes a difference. With smaller tires, if you hit a large enough pothole, your wheel doesn't have the size to roll over the pothole. The larger tires cover more ground and increase your chances of rolling over one without too much effect.

@@JB360_NYC another random tip, a longer wheelbase leads to better stability at higher speeds, an example of this would be the solar e-clipse, though the turning may not be as great. Also also, if you haven’t already install motorcycle breaks on that thing cause its op. And if you were wondering going beyond 134v isn’t really worth it, for instance the difference between 134v and 360v battery configuration is only a gain of 1-3% efficiency, but the difference between 72v and 134v is way larger.

So basically the Roadrunner is not considered a "stand up" scooter or even an E-bike (no pedals) so they wouldn't let me on. Those 2 categories are crucial for getting onto the ferry without any hassle. They pretty much considered the RR as a moped 😕
