Could you give some suggestions for a scenario where there is significant scope for improvement in the functional aspects of a product (let's say an app), but you have limited time? How would you decide and prioritize what to do first, especially when the combination of all improvements is needed to achieve the desired results?

You're bringing so much value to my learning journey. Thanks for all you have done so far for us on behalf of budding designers. Let's dive into the question Yesterday I and my friend had a conversation regarding the research topic but we ended the conversation without a conclusion because he supported his argument likewise, I also did. My friend's argument is: He says the companies will do things whatever they want to do even if the research does not support that particular thing. Example If WhatsApp wants to introduce a new feature into its app. They will implement it even if the research does not support the new feature idea. My argument is: I said they wouldn't implement it if the research data did not support the feature. I want to know a clear picture of this that's why I am writing this. My takeaway or little perspective change from this video is Research doesn't want to support it 100% like you said at least it should eliminate the failure rate at some level. Sorry for making this note so big and thanks in advance for your time.
Very good question! We need to understand that every project is not dealt in the same way in any company. Project to project your strategy for experimentation can differ. it’s totally dependent on what are the bets that the companies placing on their hypothesis. Sometimes it can happen that they would want to bet against any of the indications that they have today, mainly because they have the money to bear the failure. Because sometimes when your vision and intuition is good enough, things might work out very well, even with the slightest chance. Research is like exit polls. It gives you insights on what you might want to change and keep placing a better bet… but only the true election results (product launch) will tell you if things have worked or not.
Nicely explained I don't understand what super power does the designers have 🤔 if the company is running the product for more then 2 years their engineers and other team will know the people and products Better then the ux designer It takes more time for the designer to make the good decisions I think designers should focus on their craft skills more in the initial stage of their career because engineering and other teams will not know to make things look beautiful 😍
Haha this might feel so as a beginner but as you get into the way an actual business works and talk to multiple designers, there is a lot of delta UX designers bring in mature product companies. The job of a UX designer should not be misunderstood as either making things beautiful or just knowing a bunch of tools. It should be understood as doing all this for creating a great experience. Making things beautiful adds to experience? Yes then you do it. Tools will help you design a great experience? Yes do it! Understanding the business constraints helps you deliver better experience? Yes then go deep dive into it.
