I love listening to former Protestant now Catholics who are so alive in their faith like yourself Keith, Tim Staples, Steve Ray, Scott Hahn, Jimmy Akin.
My children and I are Catholic. My husband is Protestant and he is considering converting to catholicism. I just purchased your book to help him out and give him another perspective. Just wanted to say thank you for your good work. Can’t wait to get your book!
Keith Nester is a False Teacher preying on the ignorant who have never heard the Gospel since, the Roman Catholic Church never preaches the Gospel. Yes, they give speeches on specific stories but never the Gospel. I left the Church 15 years ago because their Doctrine is totally man made. Praying to Saints, Purgatory, Priest forgiving sin in the Confessional, Praying to Mary, and the very worst: Tradition takes Precedence over Scripture, the Word of GOD. Tradition gives them the excuse to create dogma that isn't in GODS Word. If you don't believe only one of these man made Doctrines, you are on your way to hell according to their Catechism which is the Official Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Very often converts from Protestantism are much better Catholics than in the cradle baptized ones. They have been joining the church after deep reflection, meditation and reading of holy scriptures. They are not catholics just by coincidence as most of us are. Though our Holy Church actually is in the worst mess ever, she seems still convincing and attractive to profound thinkers. Lately one of the most profiled Swedish Protestant Theologians, Ulf Eklund, converted to the Church, together with his wife. Just some weeks ago, Beatrice von Weizsäcker, member of the highest nukleus of the German Lutheran Church has been choosing the catholic way with confirmation in a Munich Church. Beatrice is the daughter of former German State President and important Protestant leader.
Being born Catholic is the danger of complacency....those who search for the Truth and find the Catholic Church are sometimes stronger in their faith....they study, they adore the Eucharist etc because they are sincerely seeking truth for those who return to Christ's Church. Just like some who are born in the USA take it for granted...don't know their history and can't comprehend the freedoms they have...immigrants who become Americans especially those who flee dictatorships etc become great citizens because they know what the loss of freedom is and why the USA is the pillar of truth for freedom....likewise those who did not have the fullness of truth knew in their hearts there was something lacking ie the true sacrifice of the mass the Eucharist....and when they convert they become strong Catholics because they saw the error and the lies and have come to the fullness of Truth Christ Himself in his one Holy Catholic apostolic church....
Eireann Emerald Eireann Emerald Thank you Eireann! Same here, they keep me in spirit and warms my heart 💙 (Ulf surname was written as “Eklund” in the first comment, that’s why I couldn’t find the video) Thanks once more! God bless! From a sister from Brasil 🇧🇷
I have learnt so much through this talk, I've been exposed to the Protestant teachings and witnessed their distorted views about the Catholic Church, I was going to their meetings and thinking about being baptised, leaving my totally misunderstood cradle Catholic faith, until God lead me to find your catholic conversion story on RU-vid. I've been following your channel since (and going back to Church and practicing my rediscovered faith) Thank you for giving this very inspired episode tainted with such humility, love and kindness. Priceless!!!
Helene you are very welcome! Other great RU-vid channels are EWTN Journey Home (conversion stories from all kinds of different faiths to Catholicism), Catholic Answers, and How To Be Christian are some of my favorites! You might also want to get the Laudate app... it has the full catechism (including the Compendium - shortened, easier to read version we used in RCIA) two versions of the Catholic Bible, an interactive rosary, the daily Mass readings, prayers, etc. You name it and it’s likely to have it! God bless!
I really believe that they key to all of this is spiritual discernment. Which comes from knowing why you believe what you believe. Study up, and there’s nothing to worry about. I’m a convert to Catholicism. I have close friend who are not Catholic and we talk about God A LOT. I am always ready with an understanding of why I believe what I do so I can stand strong in those conversations. I am not bragging. I’m just testifying to this approach of understanding apologetics.
I’ve been there Keith! I’ve been to a couple different non denomination churches. I liked some of what I heard but it felt odd at the same time. I couldn’t defend my Catholic Faith because my lack of knowledge but the truth was written on my soul. Those churches were not my home. I’ve grown in my faith so much in the past 2 years thanks to great You Tubers like You, Dr Taylor Marshall, Fr Mark Goring and a handful of others. God bless you all!!❤️🙏🏻✝️
I have been imvited many times by people to join in their Church services. Each time I always say to them "yes,I will come with you but I always remain a Catholic, no matter what ".Most of them never asked me again.
My husband is an Assemblies of God and I am a very strong Catholic, from the beginning I have made him understand that though I love him very much I would never convert to his religion. I would go with him, sit listen and he would be happy and ask why I am still Catholic. I have asked him to come to Mass with me and see for himself. How we the congregation also participate in Mass and how most importantly we would never criticize one because of their faith and how though I respected the preacher in his Church I could never understand why he thought it was good to preach against the Catholics belief. Once I was asked and I told them politely, please respect my religion as I yours. If you want to ask questions about my faith I am more then happy to help, but I will not tolerate extreme criticism as it helps no one at all. Before you speak, understand...if you want to understand, research...and believe me you will understand. These were the words of my father who was a Seventh Day Convert but returned to the Church after my grandmothers Novena for years. He grew up with his Seventh day grandmom, so he was very much anti - Catholic. Now he is such a devout Catholic with so much love for the Church that he passed on to me and siblings that I thank my grandmother for not giving up on him through her faithful Novenas.
My ex wife was Assenbly of God. Unfortunately, we divorced. She married her pastor. I hope your situation turns out better. Im a devout Catholic. I always tell Cathplics to marry Catholics.
Hi Keith, I’m cradle Baptized in Catholic Church, and parents divorced around age 6-8 so no CCD or later Confirmation. At age 41 went to RCIA for over a year, then Confirmed in 2011, but fell away again until 2023, and my father’s death. I work for a major medical insurance company in the Midwest. I’ve so struggled with all of the Protestants in the Bible Study at work! They think I need to be more like them, I don’t, and have fought for my deeply held Catholic beliefs. It’s not easy. None of this is. I love to see your dedication, and it is in that, where I value your message. You’ve helped me to remain true to my faith! Praise God and Bless you, brother in Christ. After watching this all the way through, you were led by the Holy Spirit, because it has a ring of truth. And that truth has set me free of my job’s Bible Study. 🙏 27:18
26 years ago when I read through the Bible I stumbled upon those statements in John 6, and I decided that before I die I need to get to what this means. Then 3 years ago I happen to watch a catholic apologist talk about "the 4th cup", and I suddenly see that catholicism is the answer.
This is the First time I’ve come across this site... WOW . I’m so impressed, Thankyou so much for helping us Catholics whom are struggling and have been misled by others :- . It’s very destructive and sadly there are so many false prophets on the internet. I’m so grateful for hearing this all... praise God for the Holy Spirit guiding us towards Gods Truth🙏🙌🙏
I left the protestant church because of these types of ministers. It never sat well with me that the praise and worship seems to be the focus and not the word of God. I was at a church several decades ago that had scantily clad dancing girls dance down the aisles just because there was some random verse in the Bible talking about dancing before the Lord. It just made my head spin. I took a 25 year hiatus from church because I thought that's what it was....just a Sunday show designed to get the "customers" to contribute to the coffers. I was rebelling against church, not against God. It wasn't until God put it in my heart at age 49 to try the Catholic church that I drove past every day but never looked twice at to go back to church. That was the best decision I ever made.
There is one pastor who did about a 47 week Bible study on Catholics. I used to follow him. He had the nerve to call it a Bible study when all it was is everything he claims Catholics do wrong.
I fully agree with what you say Keith. I am in my mid sixties and life has never been easy like everyone else's. Scripture always teaches that life is all about pain and suffering. On January 3rd I lost my husband after a year battling with his illness. But I believe God was always holding my hand and He is still doing that. We have to persevere because perseverance builds character. When we are in the storm we are not able to pray that much so when the storm calms down we should turn all the more to our Good Lord so that we are strong when another storm comes along. Prayer holds the key. God bless and thank you Keith.
@Lady Trek2space first of all I don t think what I wrote is ridiculous. I too , am a devoted catholic, hailing from a small catholic country whose faith was brought to us by St. Paul himself. If you read the Scriptures you know may assume what country I hail from. I pray the rosary like you Lady, go to mass regularly. Anyway I don t have to answer to you how I live my Faith. I wrote plain English ....maybe you should read again what I wrote....Lady. God bless you too.
When I was in 8th grade (now I'm on 12th), a born again youth advocate is forming prayer groups in our school. He formed one in our class so I listened even if I'm a Catholic. I noticed that he sometimes attacks Mary and some Catholic practices and since then I refrained to listen to him.
That kind of talk kept me out of Protestant churches (while I was in a period of lapse in my Catholic Faith) and when I decided to go back to church.... well, those Protestants sent me running back to Catholicism! God bless you for sticking with your faith! You have strength and courage... keep it going!
The prayer group part is fine but how can somebody as young as 14 (at that time) be attacking Mary and Catholic practices? He was either raised with such objections or even instructed to say these things. He might have good intentions but he was on the wrong premise. God help that young man. If the average Catholic was so faithful, they would be the ones leading prayer groups and Bible studies that the Born Again boy you mentioned would feel either inspired or intimidated. We must take examples such as these as a challenge to become better Catholics, with the help of God's grace. We are the ones entrusted with the fullness of the faith and to us, more would be expected.
I just found this podcast today and it has enlightened me on so many things regarding my protestant friends. Your discussions are indeed so rich in Catholic wisdom. Being a cradle Catholic I learn so much from you. Thank you so much. May God bless you and family more and may our loving mother always keep you protected in her heart.
Every morning, one of the pastors always preached in our community. He uses megaphone so we could clearly hear it. Sometimes, he has a point, but most of the time, he talks about Catholic teachings that according to him, is not in the Bible. Honestly, I'm annoyed so i turned on my music and listen to worship songs or ROSARY.
@@juanisaac5172 i refuse to go to their chapel coz they have alot of followers who believe in them. I don't want to create any commotion. There are alot of people who believe in them because they always have gatherings, activities and they preach everyday.
I am struggling with this as well. There is a vastness and depth within The Catholic Church, that I wonder if I am not wasting my time with (usually shallow) Protestant perspectives. PLUS (and this is a huge plus), sometimes within certain Protestant streams, their teachings can truly feel like a waste of time when a concept or teaching that can legitimately be covered in say 30 minutes is stretched out over say an hour and half! VERY ANNOYING. They sometimes use all these "fillers" to fluff out their sermons and get people into an emotional frenzy....I found this repulsive at the time I was still in that Evangelical headspace!😡 And sometimes they'd admit to this "fluffing"😲
John 6:53 "So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you."
This may sound meaner than what I intend it to be and I don’t mean any direct or personal disrespect towards any person who calls themselves a pastor or preacher that is Protestant and does their work out of genuine ignorance and with good intention but... In my opinion, Protestant “pastors” “preachers” Protestant anything is simply a distraction entertaining Christians outside of the Church. If you keep someone from the truth while giving them half truths and emotional experiences you are simply entertaining them long enough to not enter the Church. A pastor’s greatest action would be to bring his congregation with him to the Catholic Church. Those who follow and or have faith in their leadership could guide these sheep to God’s flock. Late Alex Jones, a former evangelical/Pentecostal pastor did just that. He left his church and brought a handful of people into the Church with him.
Eireann Emerald yes a few years ago if I’m not mistaken around 2016 or 2017. At first I was very defensive against his “style” because it was too Pentecostal for my taste but hearing his style while speaking true Catholic faith was so beautiful that it won me over! May he Rest In Peace!
Keith Nester i love your story and experience of being a convert Catholic its like you know more about the catholic church and it's value even thought I'm catholic n young but i learn more from your experience and story. Thank you for sharing
Loved it! You are doing an amazing job, Keith. I hope you talked Portuguese to use you to share with some protestant friends. God keep blessing you. When you come to Fatima don't forget to let me know. I'd love to show u some stuff around and to thank you for the impact you've been having on my life
Dear Keith.Thank you so much.I'm based in Singapore and have neighbours who follow J.Prince.I was horrified when they told me what they believe in -dangerous doctrines on once saved always saved, prosperity teachings, Mother Grace, the idea of rapture ,etc. They are so far in,I'm overwhelmed and don't know where to start in helping such souls. Praying for their eyes to be opened. Also praying for Jason.
Hi Keith, of course we can listen to our protestant brothers, and sisters. But we must understand our Catholic faith fully, with our intellect, and carry out our Catholic faith with our God given free will. God's love, and mercy is everlasting. We must, by our actions, demonstrate the pure truth of Catholic teaching, to our protestant neighbours, and hopefully they will understand us. Pray for holy priests. Ave Maria. ☘☘☘
Suffering requires Endurance that builds Character, which leads to Hope. Therefore, if you avoid suffering that will lead to a loss of faith. Discipline...a requirement to be a Disciple of Christ. As He sent his apostles He told them that they (the world) would hate them but remember that they hated me first. So, if the World loves you you are probably doing something wrong.
Amen thank u soo much Keith I always learn so much from ur videos God bless u and ur ministry❤️ as a life long catholic I don’t know what it’s like on the other side, but seeing ur perspective helps me relate on another level with my separate brothers and sisters in Christ.
Amazing bro. Keith back from where I came from in the Philippines. I was a perpetual adoration youth coordinator I had a group Saturday overnights, out of the 30 to 40 youth who stay from 12MN to 7AM with me are like 2 of them are Jehovah's Witnesses, 6 are Born Again, 4 are Iglesia Ni Kristo bro. Amazing how we all pray together as a united group of young people. I miss those days circa 1980-2013 bro.
That's me here all the way, can't stand to listen to them because they don't have the truth and you just want them to understand that they are in the wrong, but no matter what you tell them, there are so blind to Satan's teaching.
@@SoyElegidaPorDiosEnSuCatolica Exactly. And you can never go through Protestant content on RU-vid without finding someone yelling about how "pagan Catholics" are going to hell. I'd rather read the Church Fathers.
@@_Gaby_950 not only that, when you try to explain to them and they see that they are in the wrong, they don't want to hear you no more and shut you down. I be saying to myself; if I was them and I be hearing a Christian Catholic speak and they are making you into a liar, I would start looking into it and see why The Christian Catholic are speaking with the truth and my belief are not making any sense. Nope they still refuse to listen and keep blinded to the truth. If only they can clamps a peak of what hell is truly like, they will be looking under the rocks for the truth. Unity is how Jesus welcomed the Gentiles into his Ministry. We SHARE a LOVE of Jesus. Open the mind & heart❤. If it doesn't feel right, you have a choice to disregard. Its simple.
I think it's more the fact that you are a respectful person leading a respectful ministry is why so many people support you. You are a breath of fresh air. That alone delivers a greater message to his word.
Thank you Keith for this excellent message and for your ministry! I grew up with lots of Catholic friends and family, but had no idea about the beauty of the mass or the depth of the truth of the Catholic Church until I started attending mass and researching it for myself out of curiosity. That was last year, and I have been irreversibly drawn to the beauty and truth of the church that I have come to believe that Jesus Christ founded. I almost wish my Catholic friends had told me sooner, but the Holy Spirit works in his own timing and I may not have been ready then. But it was definitely my friends’ example of passionate faith and love for the Lord as Catholics that initially piqued my curiosity, and the Holy Spirit took it from there! I’m going to sign up for RCIA this fall and can’t wait to come home!
I use to listen to the late Ravi Zacharias. A lot of his preaching is sincere and biblical. He was a really humble preacher. A man of integrity and great intelligence.
Satan can quote the bible also. Protestant pastors preach the bible to KEEP people from the true faith, whether intentional or not, so they do the work of satan keeping people away from being saved...
@Bosko Sawkmie every protestant sect denies the real presence of Christ in the eucharist except for anglicans. But their priests have no consecrated hands so no transubstantiation takes place nor are they in communion.
When I was far off, under manipulating influence of false prophets teaching Asian mysticism for 8 years I was walking off the true way our LORD and Savior and ended up going against values I firmly believed without an official religious teaching and leaving the Holy Catholic Church. It's not a one step fall but it starts with the first step. When I was far off to even comprehend WHO JESUS is and beat down spiritualy, surrounded by wolfs, the Most Holy Mother of GOD came into my life. Today I understand what amazing grace is and that there is a Spiritual Warfare Going on for every soul. A lovely catholic Priest who served 54 years in Brazil on mission said while we were walking the hallway "Man is often surrounded by more Grace then he can possibly think of." The Grace pulled me back to the Holy Catholic Church and I found Help in Ravi Zacharias Videos to understand certain Things but always knowing that the Catholic Church is HIS only true church. Why am I writting this here? Because we are never alone if we hunger and thurst for the truth even if we can't comprehend it - Like the Young Man in Keith's Story who stayed with the LORD at night watch - he was in the real presence of the LORD and even if He never Heard of it before by expieriencing he knew "There is something Going on Here." It's clearly JESUS but It's also the Hunger and thurst of the Soul for the LORD. The LORD always provides best! What we need is the LORD and he has Open arms for sinners and we do good to have open Hearts as Catholics because Open hearts may Open doors. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Most Holy Mother of GOD pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death and JESUS have Mercy on us. Amen 🙏🏼✝️💕
If what they teach and preach is not in strict accord with Catholic teaching, then that teaching is against the teaching of the One Universal Church founded by Jesus our Saviour. In essence, it is anti-Catholic.
The Catholic Church never force us to Pay up during offering, I seen so many poor people who attend Mass do not have money were never forced to pay and yet the Our priest blessed every one in the church equally..
formerly journeyed into fundamentalism so glad to be catholic again.....they can say interesting things but protestants vary so much, hats off to the catholic magisterium...by the way keith Nester love the guitars and marshall amplifiers...God bless.....
Yesterday I clicked a link suggested by a protestant. It turned out that it was about a "preaching" or teaching or interpretation of Revelation by a middle-aged woman. And soon I knew that she would bring about the harlot of babylon. And boom! There she was referring the harlot to Roman Catholic church. Familiar? Lol. How many have been deceived?
I do listen to some online Protestant ministries and I especially love joining daily prayer sessions of a Protestant pastor; I have been very blessed by them. However, I am very cautious to discern, and especially wary of any manipulation. I have noticed that the prayer sessions not only help me love the Lord more but also the Catholic Church, its beautiful traditions, devotions and above all the sacraments. When I noticed that going there actually makes me closer to the Church, I was sure that it was good. Otherwise, I would stay away from the ministries. However, I can't recommend listening to those ministries to any of my Catholic friends without discerning; for some of them it could be confusing. Also, praying with Protestants opened me to a greater desire for Christian unity, because I've found out that the division in the body of Christ is painful. Some people may think and say that it is not important which denomination or church is one from but I don't hold that view, because the differences are real. Thank you for this video. Blessings from Slovakia 😊
The Blessings and Grace's God gives us is the ability to carry on loving God and other people inspite of our sufferings. The things we receive as Christians are the things God knows we need in order to participate in the building of the kingdom of heaven.
Thanks Keith for this video. I will listen to Protestant Pastors as long as they do not criticize the Catholic Church. Jesus was poor, St Francis of Assisi was poor. Why I admire and respect every Holy Catholic Priest. "Only validly ordained Priests can preside at the EUCHARIST and consecrate the bread and the wine so that they become the BODY and BLOOD of the LORD"...JESUS we pray for our Priests, fill them with the Holy Spirit...Holy Mary, intercede for our Priests...St Joseph protect them...St Michael, defend them...St John Vianney, pray for them. I love being Catholic.
I am an adult convert to the Catholic Church. My husband was raised Southern Baptist. A year before he passed of leukemia we became very involved in a non denominational church that I believed helped him through his journey. I still volunteer there twice a month and have made many friends. But they are very against the Catholic Church. I want to fully get back to the church but I have such guilt. They we're always there for my husband and I as he was battling his disease. I even had his funeral there. Any suggestions or prayers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
I listened to 25 years of evangelicals on local radio and it just got old hearing the same straw man arguments over and over. I give protestant ministers or other pundits a fair shot. If I hear one anti-Catholic smear I turn them off.
I'm glad to stumble on this because I have a Protestant friend who sends me his pastors Sermons all the time but I just ignore it. I don't listen but have not told him that I don't. I want to know what to say.
I had some protestant pastors. They were pretty nice. I still follow some on Facebook. I wish I never took their communion though. I regret that. Protestants online I find to be hateful, judgmental, arrogant etc. I never experienced that growing up. All the churches and members in my town got along and did things together. Hard to get used to it.
How blessed to be baptised as Catholics... How sad that less than 30% actually practice their faith... Converts from other Christian denominations are more readily to defend their new found Catholic faith than most life long Catholics... That needs to change... Pray that God sends His flames of love to you all...
In all fairness, Catholics offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass when we go to church. Protestants listen to anti-Catholic propaganda when they go to church.
I believe in Catholic Teaching, whether we are in our lowest moment or highest moment, our faith teaches us that God is always there. Jesus Christ live his life giving his whole self to be the source of joy and redeem us by not looking at the "riches" as the source of life but by the riches in giving oneself to others. I want to believe in true Christ.
Never mind about "Roman Catholic" or "Protestant", just believe the Word of God, which says "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and ... he was buried and ... he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." (I Corinthians 15:3-4) "The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (I John 1:7) "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." (Acts 16:31)
Thank you, Keith. My protestant mother-in-law loved Jesus with an intensity that inspired me and for a time, I questioned my Catholicism. She drifted from church to church, though, seeking one that aligned with her own understanding of the Bible. At one point she became involved with a prosperity gospel church and gave away all that remained of my husband's college education fund that his grandmother had set up to that preacher. My husband felt betrayed and ended up leaving school and it soured him on any organized religion, including the Catholic church.
Only time I attended a Protestant church was when I was a kid. They were on two different occasions, one death and one wedding of my relatives. I remember that the pastor was taking a dig a the Catholic Church knowing that many Catholics were attending the ceremonies.
I am Heidi Araneta from the Philippines....some people were easily converted here in the Philippines to Born again Christian especially the young ones ...now my question is to you, as an ex Protestant pastor what are the promises of the pastors to the young ones why they easily get into born again? Thank you ...God bless😊🙏
Catholics are “born again”. That’s what happens in baptism. Make sure you watch the next episode of Catholic Feedback. It comes out Tuesday. We talk about what happens in the Philippines a little bit. God bless
@@KeithNester thanks ...I do watch your videos and I wanted to watch more because I wanted to deepen my knowledge about our faith as Catholic Christian so in my own little way I can also help the passive Catholics to deepen their faith....thanks and God bless !
Keith, a good message, and good advice given. There is nothing wrong with attending a worship service in another Christian faith or watching one of their service on TV or online. But, it better to grow in one's Catholic faith by watching and listening to Catholic programs.Because, the it helps one grow in their Catholic faith, come to understand ones own Catholic faith better and it helps witness our faith better and defend our faith better when situations arise were we are asked by others why we believe what we believe. It keeps one better grounded in the Catholic faith.By doing this in my own life my Catholic faith is not shaken when I get visits from Jehovah witnesses they can talk about any topic and they express their biblical views and I can express my own and why Catholics believe a certain way.
This episode was great! This is so true.... What does children do when they are afraid or sad? They run to the lap of their mom and dad. And so should we, as children of God, run to our Heavenly Mother and Father. 💙🙏🏻💙
As catholics we can learn a lot from other spirit filled christians. As specially about the work of the Holy Spirit. About healing, deliverance, gifts of the Holy Spirit. This is so needed in the Catholic church. With this the church comes alives and reach out to others around them.
I want to be a saint. I don't see too many of the great saints who didn't endure great sufferings or even horrible deaths. My patron saint is St. Maximillian Kolbe. He died a horrible death in Auschwitz. My confirmation name is Lawrence. He mocked his executioners as he was grilled to death. I was named after the first martyr who was stoned to death. If my life is easy, I'm not doing something right. Mass isn't supposed to be a fun experience. If someone is looking for a constant emotional high, they aren't looking for Catholicism. Is there joy in the Church? Sure, but it isn't the way that you'd expect it.
@@KeithNesterI was told a deacon is called by the people telling him he should be a deacon where the Priest is called by the Holy Spirit! I have been listening to you for a while and I too believe you would be a great deacon!
You are so on point and totally true 👍🙏🏻 Suffering is when God is closest to us. God wants us to offer up to him our pains, suffering, works, problems, disappointments, frustrations and sins!! Jesus said “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” MT 11:28-30😇
Seriously, I have gone to Protestant services for my sister’s children. I have gone synagogue with my husband when his brother died. I know my Catholic faith and none of these excursions ever affect my faith. My husband attended the burial mass for my Mom. It is what loved ones do. It is respectful.
I really admire Keith for plowing through all the prejudice and outright lies about the Catholic church and his being more dedicated to the core truth of Catholicism enough to actually convert and come a little closer to the truth that is in Jesus--yes I really admire fellow converts who love God's truth more than their personal tastes and theological preferences. Thanks Keith for bringing a protestant's zeal to the Roman Catholic church. It needs it--I, as a cradle Catholic need it!
Btw, priest are ordained with vows ie chastity, poverty and obedience which shows their true intention of serving the church and its people. Gospel is a talking point that seriously none of us can turn away and spot on Keith our suffering have meaning either to turn away or embrace it as Jesus did. Put forth everything to God and the rest will follow, thru experience and I marvel the blessings I have received in life.
