Elena López’s talk delves into the impact of unethical business, something which unfortunately remains a common and global issue. From worker exploitation to climate degradation, these problems have severe consequences for people and planet. Elena’s talk introduces a relatively new area of work - business ethics consulting. This rapidly growing field has evolved to help companies meet their ethics and compliance requirements/regulations and instil best practice in challenging areas such as preventing corruption, mitigating human rights abuses and treating people fairly. Elena is a Spanish national who has lived in Spain, Germany and the UK. She graduated from the University of Warwick in 2019 with a degree in BSc Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She then went on to do an MPhil in Development Studies at Cambridge University focusing on anti-bribery and corruption where she received a Jesus College prize in 2020 for her academic achievements. She has since worked in London as a business ethics consultant in the bespoke consultancy GoodCorporation, where she advises organisations on best practice in Human Rights, Anti-bribery and Anti-Corruption in their operations and supply chain. She loves to read, and also enjoys rowing in the Thames with her local team - a hobby she picked up in Cambridge. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Refreshing to hear this. I hope ethical enterpreneurship takes over in the near future, is much needed to avoid the road to extinction we are in nowadays.

I hope there's some kinda issue where i can't see all the comments posted. Otherwise, the fact that this video on a page with 40 million subs has less than 3k views and no comments says a lot about how much business owners care about ethics. This is why these big companies are more dangerous than these governments. These politicians don't govern. They simply follow the rules of the companies that fund them

Many politicians work on the board of some of these big companies. Cash flow is all poor humans care about and power is what we all desire smh
