I would’ve lost the bet. I still think it was possible to bet against the wrecker, but I forgot to factor in that betting against Eric is a losing proposition. For everybody that wasn’t there and is not familiar with this trail, let me tell you… This is not your standard sort of hard Trail. This trail will assault you over and over the whole time you’re on it. Good job, Eric and the BSF team!
For a truck built for the mud and woods of Wisconsin and Minnesota you have to agree that you and the truck held your own. You deserve to be acknowledged for your skills and competitive spirit and the showing of your emotions when receiving the recognition you deserved. That just goes to prove that good things happen for good people.
Eric you started this entire thing back in the early days. Your a humble guy but your so vital to what we watch now. Your not the outsider your the model everyone else based off of. Been here since almost the beginning ain't going anywhere.
Good afternoon from the other side of the pond! In the end, you all are winners in this crazy wrecker game! And it has been a joy following all the videos from all of your channels. Congrats to the lift, you really deserve it! ❤🇸🇪
Your decision to winch yourself up when you could not bump it shows your years of experience and is one of the things that separates you as a professional from some of the other competitors.
You did a great job. You are a little out of the normal for you. But you did it. Can't wait to see if you make any changes to the Reicker. Thanks for the good job. Have a great week. God bless you and your family and crew.
I'd like to see these sand and rock guys do a head to head like this up in the trails around you. The Bleepin' Jeep challenge has been an eye opener for a few of them already.
Good people attract good people. You and your crew absolutely fit into that circle. I had a ticket and lodging arranged but was unable to attend the games. I really appreciate you posting your experience there. It's cool to see the event thru each participants eyes.
You certainly looked tired after the day of climbing. The wrecker from my seat looked like it did a much better job than it was expected it would. Glad you had a good time and hope the wrecker didn’t sustain to much in the way of injury. Be watching when your back in the woods. Actually I’ll be watching the ones before the woods too.
Eric your channel was the first channel I ever subscribed to . I'm from west virginia and have always loved offroading . I was interested in what happens at big events when people break down,so I started looking and found your channel right away Matt didn't even have a channel at that time but after he started his channel my subscriptions grew and now its like I have a extended family I get to connect with threw video and you never fail to teach a old dog some new tricks. Thank you for all you do for the offroading community stay safe out there and I'll see you on my favorite you tube channel.
I was rooting for you. You were an underdog but you surpassed all our expectations. Great job. Glad to hear you were awarded the lift for your garage. Congratulations Eric and Seat Cover. ❤
I'd just like to point out that not a single other Door Hinge Step on the market could have ever held up to being crushed between that truck and a rockface. Pretty proud to see that step was functioning perfectly after that!
Sure gave those boys in Utah , something to chew on! What a blast! I for one would have loved to have been in the towed vehicle. Us armchair offroaders really appreciate you taking us along with you! Thanks for sharing
I think that’s something a lot of people fail to consider. For the wrecker games you were all going towards the HARD stuff whereas you would’ve looked for the EASY way out if it had been a real life recovery. Even the worst of the recovered vehicles had less damage than I expected. Definitely thought there’d be at least one axle or tire that would get ripped off lol. I think you did FANTASTIC considering how very different that terrain is compared to your normal.
That was such a great event & never get tiered of watching it. Considering Your wrecker was not set Up like Paul's & Rory's, You still did one hell of a good job. Interesting too on how many different footage's of it are coming forth with unseen shots & comments. I keep looking for all. Amazing on the turnout for it & truly was for pure fun & entertainment.
Eric, I for one, am completely impressed that you took a wrecker that wasn't specifically designed for the rock and sand, and completed the course. It goes to show your skill and experience behind the wheel. I don't trust anyone with my truck, but would trust you behind the wheel.
Eric, what set you above the rest was your dogged determination. Tons of skill instead of all the flash, but mainly you just never gave up! I'm just next-door over in Ontario and super-proud of what a fellow northerner acomplished there. Respect brother!!
Eric you did bsf proud. Completelly out of your comfort zone but carried on like it was just another day in the woods. Proper chilled... the wrecker did well and your team even though completelly crazy kept it all calm. So glad you finished. And even happier you had a good time and enjoyed the chaos. Every one was a winner in this as far as im concerned! Keep up the great content. Just one of your Fans in the UK.
I think the only Rodeo that survived "Almost" the same as it started was behind Trail Mater. But since Rory and crew do this type of recovery, in this type of terrain almost daily, I would pretty much expect that they would have an advantage. I think MORR's Rodeo didn't flop or roll, but both them and Fab Rats were in fairly untested rigs. All in all, since you're not doing recoveries, or rock crawling in this type of terrain on a regular basis (like the others do), I think you kicked butt!! GOOD JOB!
This video shows much more extreme perspective than the others I’ve watched. The up close stuff doesn’t show the shelves and how steep things are UP and DOWN
I watched from the trail side as you traversed that trail and I was truly impressed! Also, it was nice to meet you and hope you can do it again! Great job, Eric!
The art, of being one with the machine, up that steep & winding slickrock course - and all the time pulling/towing a 4 wheeled bouncing vehicle. Amazing & impressive, particularly when the course was new to you. Congratulations on your effort & making it to the top of hill, all intact.
What an amazing performance! Eric, you drove a 1 ton Square Body wrecker, built to rescue in the mud, through one of the toughest rock crawler areas around. I'm not sure a stock Jeep could have gone through that course safely yet you did it pulling a stock height Rodeo. Fantastic driving and teamwork!
A lot of folks get it, but I'd like to point out again that the rigs develop to handle their local terrain. All of the other rigs were relatively local (Utah), but Eric's truck has evolved to excel in the Wisconsin woods. Eric really made his "fish out of water" run with the big dogs! Hope to see you back next year my friend!
I know I'm a little late to the show here but I gotta say a couple things. That old wrecker did amazing! An extremely capable truck with an extremely capable driver at the wheel. Eric you did all us square body owners proud! The determination and staying power that you and your crew had were unmatched by anyone else there. To call it amazing and well done would be an understatement! And it wouldn't be a proper MORR event if someone didn't run outta gas!! That extreme angle thing bit me once too several years back. Hope you guys continue to make the trip out to things like this. Amazing. Edit: would love to see your angle of the awards ceremony and a walk around of the wrecker after you got home and were able to look at it close. I'm sure there are little things you'll be finding for awhile. That was an abusive trail!
Massive respect Eric! For having the wrecker that was possibly the least built for that particular terrain, You, Your Truck, and Your Team certainly impressed. And now I know why you were invited, and accepted to compete. Great showing, and I look forward to seeing more of you and your adventures in the future.
I hope with the awesome new lift in the already awesome new shop you guys will be able to give the wrecker some much deserved love & repairs. I know it’s tough to have it down and not able to come and help people at events, but if the truck falls apart it can’t help anyone at all lol
Your wrecker is built for the woods and mud/snow, and the fact that you stuck with it and made it to the top is AWESOME!!! Being an off-roader (1969 IHC Scout and a 1998 XJ) from another woods and mud state (but no snow in South Carolina) I was thrilled to see your crew and your rig compete and finish. Love your channel, keep up the great work!!
You put on a great show for the fans! I saw so many things you and the rest of the competitors did that they won't do on a real recovery. Seeing how much power these off road wreckers have was awesome!
Eric I knew you guys would make it to the top without a doubt. The big positive thing that this incredible RU-vid community family all agrees on is you never quit, you never stop you keep going and you get the job done I truly love that positive attitude so I knew you would get it done no matter what. I am looking forward to next year getting the opportunity to meet everyone will be a true honor in my opinion all of you are my extended family. I agree with you on the support for Paige since this amazing community has well surpassed the GoFundMe goal in record time. Which goes to show family takes care of family
AMAZING what you could do with your truck. Your familiarity with it was your trump card some hadn't counted on. Loved the extra touches. Alls you had to do was drive between the two flags out front! Also, the engine warmed hot dogs, very nice touch! I missed that bit on the first video, that will be something to remember to do. I was as emotional as you when Robby presented you the lift. Well done. You deserved it! Looking forward to others videos. Good luck and may God bless you all.
It’s a thrill watching you guys work! I wish I would’ve been able to go but didn’t find out in time because I’ve been so busy with work. I’m local to you guys just over in Deer Park with the “big yellow shop” as everyone calls it around here. I met you guys last year in Dresser at Trollhaugen when my Polaris Ranger needed a new valve stem and you guys had me fixed up in a jiffy! Even though the ranger was all I had just to at least get a quick look at the Dresser trails and I felt that same “out of place” feeling by not having a true off road machine, no one there made me feel like I didn’t belong! Keep up the great work, I’d love to see that shop in person one day and hopefully I can get to Dresser this year before the last event day to see some real wheeling being done in person! You guys really put your stuff to the test and you definitely don’t give up!
In all the footage i've seen (alot since all the legal and illegal) the vendors are way under represented. Fun times at The Wrecker games !!! Bob from Wisconsin
Have you thought about giving the wrecker a name? I would say it earned it's own monicker. It could also be handy if you're going to be returning to the games. But, it's not a big deal either way.
Eric nice job. Have you ever came down towards Dubuque and wheeled with Tri State Stump Jumpers or gone to any of their events/properties? Theres some in Southern WI and some in Northern Iowa. Would be awesome to run into you there, I run with those guys. Id get stuck on purpose just to get a hooked sticker haha
I'm from Wisconsin Eric but moved . I think you need to take a good look at the wrecker cab mounts go back and watch some parts on the slow motion slowest . Now you know if you gotta do it agin what to change . I would be doing a shackle flip kit and relocating the front shackle eyes 3 inches up the frame rail it's just better thats upgrades to the shackle eye you can't beat a 9/16s bolt then the leafs spring bushings on the shackle just using a set of front bushings and a bigger bolt the 6 inch front shackles .most importantly a roll cage and a gear reduction box in front of the 205 and not the 203/205 a np241 gear reduction box .
Out of all the wreckers in the competition, if I had a choice to own one, it would be the BSF Wrecker over all others. All the others are to fancy for me I prefer the old square bodys.
hope ya do put in the ceremony, havnt watched the other channels yet cept lil of merlins an some of caseys, mostly waitin from yalls point of view, been following along time and always enjoy the vids long an short
Hahaha 😂😂. That was great. As long as no one was hurt. All in fun. And Robby Layton can fix all dents and scratches 😂😂😂. Wow. That was a bumpy ride. My back hurts. 😂😂 great job. Thank you
See what you started, Eric? --- Insane drivers running wreckers up impossible trails through sandstone ledges. ---- It seems everyone owes you a great big "Thank-You. Thanks for the fun upload. ---
Have you ever Watched "The Last Unicorn," and heard Molly Grue cry, "What have you Done! What have you Done!" Hundreds of Roll Back and Wrecker drivers now receiving "Couch Time," to help them Deal, with their humdrum, Day-to-Day Existences. (You Guys should get a Kick Back, from the folks at the Napoleon Factories!)
Eric; it's great CHALLENGER LIFTS used this event to put a lift in your new shop. Are you going to get a 4 post from them, or a two post lift? I know you said you had footings for both poured in the floor........
😂 what excellent work u did on the games !!!! i'm pretty sure ur truck was the only 1 that wasn't " purpose built " for the S.W. terrain !? ur truck body is wider than the wheels wich absorb rock rubbing etc. no " rock sliders " etc. if the tool box was the worse of it i'd say u did crazy good !!!!!! i don't THINK u have a doubler to REALLY get ur gearing " low " for the rock climbs AND towing both ??? but the ole girl did it 😊😅 VERY IMPRESSIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after watching ur OWN truck n you at work did u learn anything new ??? if so give 1 or 3 examples. will u do anything different to ur truck !!! that could also b of use in ur neck of the woods ( pun intended 😅 ) ur terrain SOOO DIFF from our west coast stuff !!! some methods r the same when it comes to operating ur equip no matter where ya r but some def is !!!!!!! yeah its amazing there wasn't trash all over !!!! restores faith in humanity !!!!!!!😊. so r u all REPAIRED and back in biz ?? ATB Eric !!
That Wrecker is a Billy Goat! It just crawls up & over anything in it's way! Especially when ya "send it" lol, that was great....For what used to be a normal Tow truck that spent it's life rescuing broken down vehicles on the street.... to this? Friggin' Amazing. the other vehicles were purpose built for that terrain & they all live out there where they can test & tweak & make changes as they learn..... You travel literally halfway across the country, & just proceed to kick butt! THAT'S why you're the ORIGINAL OFF ROAD WRECKER! I'm so happy for you guys!
When looking at the back of the towed vehicle the way the spray paint was done it looks like... BSFIRECOVER.... hahahahhaaaaaa..... Eric you and your team did extremely well considering the tow truck is not set up as a rock crawler.
