When I was kid, back in the 1960s, I had a recording of Carlos Montoya playing a flamenco version of The Saint Louis Blues. I don’t remember whether or not he did it to the Bulerias rhythm, but I thought it was kind of cute and fun. Back then I really didn’t know much about the differences between the various styles of Flamenco. That was before I went to study Flamenco guitar with Triguito in Madrid in the late 1960s. Flamenco and Blues have a lot in common in general especially in the more serious, usually slower, styles of both. Keep up the good work!

Love this! I know there are tons of great flamenco players, but this lesson reminds me of what great command Paco De Lucia had of all the flamenco rhythms.

Thank you so much. You’ve given me a better appreciation of a song that I love; “Stratocaster Buleria” by Ben Woods is favourite of mine, may he RIP. 🙏🏻☮️🤘🏻🎸

While I don't think you've had enough time to do these exercises a million or a billion times, you sure do sound like you've practiced it that many times. What a treat it is to hear you play!!!

Some of the flamenco tunes seem to have blues and jazz chords, lots of chromatic riffs, maybe some borrowed chords. I was trying to add stuff just like that too just the other day

It makes sense except for the 10 count of the Bulerias. Is it 10 or 12?? Wait I got it, you end on the 10 but it is otherwise 12.

Yes all the 12-count rhythms end on the 10
