This was so interesting to watch, love videos like this. Makes me really want a ALP 4K but its way out of my price range. For now I'll continue to live vicariously, will keep an eye out for more vids on the tables that will run on this
Very cool stuff. Looking forward to the initial release. Think this will help my kids play some really great VPX tables. I have to get OTG working for it to be used by them. This will make things so much easier. Thanks again.
AtGames needs to hire nix as a hired gun, amazing developer/coder! Thank you PDubs and nix for all the hard work. Going to have to donate to you both for your time and the great work.
Great Stream and you guys did great informing everyone of all skill levels. 5 questions I have. 1: Possible to have animated table select images in table select menu? 2: Not a question but more a suggestion, have button map image skip by pressing a button on the device instead of on a timer. 3: Possible to have an image or video to show where the name of the table shows right after selecting the table? 4: if modding the 4k to have extra buttons like a ball launch button, coin button, etc, would you be able to easily map them for all tables? 5: Easy to remap stock buttons? An example, if say you wanted to flip you flipper and nudge buttons so now nudge are flipper and flipper is now nudge?
Always appreciate efforts like this! Seems though that if you're picky about reaction time, 30fps or unstable frames won't obviously cut it, so it's best to stick to 1080p. Seems IMO too many compromises in relation to 4K. Also, paying $60 to $100 for a pre made thumbdrive rather than the many hours of frustration downloading, unpacking, and setting up tables seems a no-brainer. If you can afford to get the 4K, ditto on buying a premade USB drive.
@@PDubsArcadeLoft I actually am a fan. The 3588 is going to take a lot of individual game tweaking and then what if AtGames Fs it up somehow with a firmware update. If you're familiar with security protocols, all firmware roads lead to the hardware ID, if used in any software as an access key for use. If doing that, not very user friendly and seems a misguided approach, IMO.
I’m completely computer illiterate. Hopefully I’ll be able to do this. I know he said he’s going to try and make it as easy as possible but I’m really bad. I didn’t understand most of what he was talking about.
This is soo awesome. Really interested in that apron dmd too 😎👍 is it looking washed out (like scooby gameplay ) because of being captured on stream and it looks better in person?
just need a simple answer can't watch the whole video is this worth buying an ALP4K (with no intention of putting a PC into it) if i dont wanna purchase pinball packs or anything like that and JUST play these VPX games? i just want an answer before the 12th when the price raises on the new starters.
I thought I heard Nix say at the beginning that pup packs would not work. But right at the end when talking about the card speed, he said some would have a PUP pack. Unless I mis-heard..?
@@PDubsArcadeLoftI wonder if some things can be done such as reducing frame rate or resolution on pup pack videos to help make it work. Dumb it down for atgames
I didn’t say they don’t work. I said people were commenting that they won’t work. VPX Standalone recently added PUP support so things don’t work. But I’ve got both VPin Workshop and PUP tables working. There’s still a ton more work for the VPX team… but they’ve done amazing work so far!
@@Coinmancerthe VPX developers suggested that as well. We also need hardware decoding of videos as that’s all done in software now. But really, we just need more memory on the system which isn’t possible to upgrade.
This sounds ridiculous I just want to play the old Kiss table and the late 70s tables on my legends . is there a place i could just buy these and plug it in play ,, it seems easier to go to the moon in a aluminum can.
VPX will need to change the way they are scripting these tables which will probable break this. Microsoft announced end-of-life for vbscript with will be disabled by default in 2027. Hopefully VPX will be smart and use python or C instead on Microsoft only vbscript crap.
