I appreciate a lo of the things he’s been involved with over his time at lucasfilm clone wars, rebels, bad batch the character of Ahsoka but yeah, he’s definitely not flawless…

@@h4roldproductions148 The most important part of the Martinez sisters arc was setting up Maul's involvement in Mandalore. And that could have been done literally any other way. But Siege of Mandalore had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

You've got a point, Ashoka S1 had a couple of rough patches, but overall, it was pretty good. So I can't imagine what S2 is gonna hold.

Ahsoka season 1 felt like season 2 to me though, with everything that happened offscreen between Rebels and it But yeah, here's hoping it really picks up going forward

Say he did okay the Witches. I'm certain that he did believe that a coven of Force Sensitive witches appealed to him because the Nightsisters went over pretty well. I highly doubt that his intention was to butcher canon. And I allude to his direction when I say he's better with a second act. I'm not an idiot, I know directors have teams. One without the other, however, isn't much more than idle hands and an idea man. So if you're trying to hit me with the "Um, actually..." card, know this: I am as floored about this series as anyone else, but I am trying my best to see sense rather that be blinded by the bait that is in front of me. I 100% agree, just like in real life with religion, Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are basically different interpretations of the same idea and the Force has this same concept. I love world building and while the episode and series isn’t perfect I’m enjoying it and can’t wait to see where it goes. Thanks for not being so negative like so many other people!

Not his show, he mainly provides guidance to do with lore for the other creators. He approved the idea of the witches, but they weren’t under his creative control.

@@maineloon1515 That's not what I meant. I'm actually happy, that the so-called "Skywalker saga" is not in the main focus anymore, it was already worn down for quiet a while. I've spoken to some younger fans around the time when Disney decanonized the old extended universe, and created the "Legends" category, and they were actually welcoming to the idea, because they though that all the old material was way too chaotic, like authors were allowed to release whatever, with next to no supervision at all, and they wanted to have at least some sort of a structure. I accepted that argument, but it was only some novels, and comics, consumed by only a small fraction of the most hardcore fanbase, so it didn't cause any major problems anyway. When we only had to deal with Lucas contradicting himself with some storylines in the prequels, it was way easier to say, "OK, whatever". But right now, SW has like dozens of cooks in the kitchen, and it's not just for the 1% any more, it's for everybody. Filoni could be the one who stops this, but he doesn't. I don't know why, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, maybe he doesn't have the jurisdiction to say this or that, but the stuff he actually works on is not helping either. It's filler content. I think we need more stuff like Rogue One. It was a perfect fit for SW. There was plenty of room for it, it didn't break canon, and it was executed nicely. The Kenobi show could've been the same, or even better, but they completely wasted the potential. The Book of Boba Fett was at least mostly harmless. If you don't like it, you can skip it, and nothing changes. But The Acolyte for example will go down as a "try to pretend it never happened" kind of thing, and right after an actually promising thing, which is Andor, so we still never know what comes next. We can't really trust them to learn from either failure and success as we move on. Remember, that the Skeleton Crew supposed to come out first this year? I wonder what happened...

@@TGerreGT I agree that they can't learn from failure. I did not mind Obi-Wan but they really missed the mark there, Book of Boba also was not bad but again, missed the mark. So far I am enjoying the Acolyte and I hope its sticks the landing. I would really love to go to the Old Republic era, so much room for expansion and such! I'm not a big book reader to be honest, the weird I was referring to was more directed at the Nightsisters, Mortis, Force origin such (Yoda's adventure arc in CW season 6) and that stuff. I think a lot of people are hating on the Acolyte for political reasons and such and simply trying to stir stuff up rather than let the show run its season and then make the rants and stuff. I would say Dave isn't stopping some of the stuff we would like him to for 2 reasons, 1) he enjoys what he reads, so he supports it and it doesn't turn out how he thought. 2) Kathleen Kennedy simply says what's going to happen and he has to go along with it. But yeah wonder where Skeleton Crew is???

I'm actually not a big fan of the animated series, because it's responsable for a lot of the problems that effect the writing to this day, like bringing people back from the dead, and undoing things that supposed to be permanent, otherwise it can't be taken seriously. Some of the characters introduced there are cool, but breaking continuity with things like presenting Ahsoka as Anakin's padawan, while she's nowhere around in the movies, is just dumb, and annoys the hell out of me. I agree that The Acolyte didn't get it's fair chance from the fans, but I can't help myself thinking that what we have seen so far, is bad. And the showrunner lady talking shit to the fanbase during her press tour...man...I honestly don't understand how it supposed to help her cause, whatever it may be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to ruin it for You, I'm glad that at least somebody is having a good time.

@@TGerreGT I completely understand your perspective, if I read books and comics and then shows came a long and completely upended them I would hold a grudge too. Don't get me wrong I have not loved or even liked a lot of what the show runner has said but even though she has spearheaded doesn't mean there isn't merit to the story nor does it mean that everything in the show is bad. But I would like to thank you for being civil in this discourse and not being demeaning or anything such as that, unfortunately that happens too much in comment sections like this. :)

That's why I don't care how are they gonna explain how Asajj returned. What mostly matters to me is that she returned.

From how I see it there seems to be an unsaid rule that lucasfilm is the only creative which can make canon, anything done by other authors are subject to change.

@@Kriv-kj6lk No, it's: 1st canon: movies, shows, games 2nd canon: books and comics Movies, shows and games are the media most people experience. They are never decanonized. So when creators see something can be done better than books/comics did previously, they will overwrite them the same day in animations/liveaction. With Dave Filoni it's little different. He made bunch of characters for The Clone Wars and The Rebels so when he changed his mind about their journey from book/comic to animation/liveaction, he will show it, he has full rights for that, he created them. Ventress in her own book after her "death" is seen vague still alive when you read between lines.

Ahsoka should’ve been animated. I loved seeing Hayden back and Rosario did a good job I think. However, I think that the animated characters should largely stay animated for no better reason really than just… because lol

I respect Dave because of the obvious passion he has for Star Wars I dont worship him. I too am tired of the Clone Wars era. I highly doubt though Dave is the one who gets to decide the direction of a multibillion dollar franchise. It's definitely not his call to keep or get rid of Kennedy. I think Kennedy misunderstands much of what makes Star Wars special. I believe Dave does understand what makes it special. That's why I consistently like what he adds to Star Wars. You're free to feel however you like but it really feels unnecessary to hate Dave so much when he's done so much for Star Wars.

Imo, povs are ok. Witches have been around for the clone wars, and the force can be seen *like* a thread in the grand span of things. Writing the thread as if its the only accepted way of seeing the force isnt the best way to write it. In fact, the ideas couldve served as a skeleton for the development of a new culture and people, like how the nightsisters were introduced, but the show just left it like that
