I did not intend for this to slowly evolve into a Batmobile hate video but sometimes that just happens ok. Dez Caught It. #batman #arkhamknight #batmanarkhamknight #thebatman #manbat
Here's a little tip for the 60 tank battle at the end. First a little history lesson. In the Battle of Thermopylae, Leonidas I led 7,000 men, including 300 Spartans defended the area against an invading estimated of 120,000-300,000 Persian soldiers led by Xerxes. The 300 Spartans all died, except for 1 to tell how bravely they fought, but not before killing an approximate of 20,000 Persian soldiers. How did so few Spartans kill so many Persians? The answer is the layout of the battle field. Thermopylae, also know as The Hot Gates, is a narrow pass that forced the Persians to narrow their spread, allowing the Spartans take on few at a time instead of getting surrounded. The Persians' vast numbers didn't count for crap when they were forced into a small narrow pass. Anyway, there's a small narrow pass right next to the side of GCPD, where their vast 60 number tanks won't count for crap. Just exit out of the tunnel, slide to your left and back up. Get into that narrow area, force them to come to you and take out little at a time instead of getting surrounded. The downside is that it gives little room to dodge, but if you're skilled enough and quick enough to shoot, it should be a breeze.
A RU-vidr named the rad Brad went the whole game without getting the jump scare. I’m dead serious I was rewatching it and was surprised he never got it
I actually just did a few days ago. I went back to get my platinum trophy after beating the game previously many times. I didnt even realize i didnt get jumpscared unyil coming across this video.
Fun Fact: You can telegraph BOTH the Man Bat and Joker rooftop jumpscares. Man Bat is the more known one where immediately after Riddler talks on the screen you can directly grapple to the building and get it over with. Every playthrough I do this and it removes the dread of having to wait. The Joker one happens after you protect Ivy's first plant from the militia attacking it. After that's done, you have to grapple from the side to the building that got destroyed by the plant. That spot always triggers the second jumpscare.
I think there was one time where I avoided the jump scare for so long that the game somehow glitched and man bat was just flying around the island waiting to be jumped
Yes you can even by doing the side missions, I caught manbat once flying around before the jump scare, tackled him and got his blood, never got jump scared, didn’t even use the Batmobile for this
I think the jumpscare is still effective not because of his design (though he ain't pretty), but because his screech is so loud and so shrill. However, I have played the campaign so many times now that I've noticed that your UI disappears and the screen zooms in quickly just before it actually shows him, so I can literally see it coming now.
Long but decent story: I beat arkham asylum as a teen on release but kinda fell off of gaming after. Years later, I went to a friend's house and he was playing this, he said "dude, try this game" and handed me the controller. Ironically, he was driving around Gotham in the batmobile. I started driving and immediately knew I wanted this game. It was like driving a tank that felt as fast as a supercar; like a train when crashing through walls & enemies, but like a leopard when drifting corners. It seemed like I could always get it to do EXACTLY what I wanted it to do. The wall-climbing, roof traversal and tank mode was just the icing on the cake. I drove that thing for an hour at his house, then went out and bought a ps4 and arkham knight based off of that ALONE. Platinum(ing) this game was the spark that lit my excitement for gaming again. This entire game is a masterpiece and I was shocked to find that so many people hated the batmobile.
A cool video would be a list of all the weird and unusual places Man-Bat can appear to jumpscare you, like possibly that Riddler thing outside the orphanage.
now wee need to try 100% the game and do knightfall protocol without triggerring man-bat so it's technically not Batman's fault for not fighting him as they have never met
That was actually kinda scary! I wonder what side missions would have a wrench thrown in them with the looming threat of Man-Bat, all I can think of right now is Penguin's truck tracking...
I found a way easier method of skipping the jumpscare. It's called: completing the mission. Just find a decent spot, put on the detective vision and look for a suspicious, noisy red/orange flying around. As long as you see it, it shouldn't teleport to any building to jumpscare you, but it also gives you the opportunity to ambush the ManBat. And to be honest, I'm pretty sure even starting the most wanted mission by taking a blood sample of the creature should be enough to skip the jumpscare altogether. The game kinda assumes you two have already been introduced. Not sure if I went to his hideout first, but I know for a fact that the game didn't trigger the jumpscare for the rest of the game.
Fun fact when In my play through I triggered the man bat jumpscare before riddlers announcement via when Batman investigates where oracle went to so I guess technically you can trigger the jumpscare before riddlers tv monologue Edit:I guess I was mistaken I forgot the Batmobile couldn’t get access to miagami island yet until after the riddler thing Lol 💀😭
@@OgBigNut nah it wouldn’t it would’ve probably just been a small correction and it’s a good thing you mentioned it that the Batmobile wasn’t in miagami yet until after doing riddlers side mission 💀
Call me crazy, but I don't think Man Bat can jump scare you if there's a railing on the edge. I mean, what would that even look like? I think you could have just grappled up Wayne International Plaza at 3:10
I really don't know why people don't like the Batmobile. Like all people wanted during Asylum,City and Origins was the Batmobile and we get it and people get annoyed by it. Like come on
It's the fact that the Batmobils is used for navigation, puzzles, the game's boss fights, the game's TANK fights, etc. If they just gave us the Batmobile but DIDN'T try to force it into EVERY aspect of the game, it would've been received much better.
@ASingleSpaghetti I appreciate your opinion, but I disagree. If the batmobile was just a means of transportation, that would've been so boring. While I do agree that some aspects were lacking, it's not just because of the batmobile. While I do think the tank battles get repetitive, i do still think they are really fun. I think after the Cloudburst Tank battle, there should've been a combat battle with the Arkham Knight. On the roof top you go to. And the same with Slade in the street.
@@Kingslayer75671 Again, it is possible to have the Batmobile in your game AND not have to use for EVERYTHING. Need to get somewhere quick? Batmobile. Puzzles? Batmobile. Can't access this area? Batmobile. Rocksteady needed to pad the game for length? Batmobile TANK FIGHTS oh boy. It retroactivelly makes the previous games weaker, as now for any situation I go back and play, I'm wondering "Why didn't he just use the Batmobile. He could end the game in five minutes." It didn't have to be "either have NO batmobile or the entire GAME is the batmobile." There IS a sweet spot here, Rocksteady just missed it by a wide margin with the actual game that they released. Not trying to sh*t on you here dude, but it's frustrating when there is an obvious and apparent flaw in a thing, and people handwave it by going "It's not THAT bad." Yes, it absolutely WAS.
I always closed my eyes each time i grapple the building, at least when you've finally encounter twice with Man Bat and the joker one. Once i experienced those two, i can finally glide in peace 😂
As a personal experience is yes, i remember going around with the batmobile and doing the main story until i unluck the funder island and i was going around waiting for the jump scare but never got it and after going out of the clock tower i heard the manbat sounds
I found myself asking when I would get the jump scare the other day, the first time I’ve played the game. A few seconds later, I got the jumpscare. So I didn’t even get startled. I was like, oh, there it is.
I remember when I first played through the game when I was like, 6 or 7, I managed to beat the game without ever encountering him. When i finally got jump scared bye him, I thought my game was broken or something 😭. I was indeed traumatized that day.
What, I literally played the Arkham Games for the first time in my life (blind, I might add) this month, literally just finished Arkham Knight 2 days ago with the true ending, and I never even knew this was a thing.
I was playing arkham knight for the first time without knowing anything about the game, got hit by that jumpscare 10 minutes ago, opened youtube and this is the first video i saw LOL
That's cool! I seem to remember ManBat would eventually just pop up flying over Miagani like he does after the jumpscare. I'm surprised he didn't show up at all.
Yes you can! I did it in a recent playthrough, but I'm not fully sure why it happened. I never used the grapple boost on Miagani island, and eventually I just noticed him flying around and screeching as he usually does. I tried replicating this on another replay, but then he did the jumpscare despite me never grapple boosting. So, I'm not fully sure what exactly I did wrong that second time. I guess just try avoiding grappling on Miagani completely and see if he spawns for you lol
I am surprised that there's actually a Man Bat jumpscare. I've been playing the game for a month now (Without watching YT videos about the plot) and I never had a jumpscare of the Man Bat. I just saw it flying through Founder's Island and thought, "What if I ride this guy?" lol
i recently finished playing batman arkham knight did the true knightfall protocol ending and then saw this video and i realized i never got the man bat jumpscare
I played through the game twice and never got it, I was so frustrated to the point where I played through it again and actively searched for it which led to my crapping my pants 😭
I think the Man-Bat jumpscare is only random if you don't get called by Riddler immediately And just spend time grappling to roofs At least that's how I always experience the jumpscare whenever I start a new game of Arkham Knight, when it is time to visit Miagani I want to get jumpscared first so I don't get my heart turn into an explosive later.
I tried avoiding it my last playthrough. Eventually he just shows up anyway without the jump scare. Funny enough though is Joker comes in and scares you still even if you dont get the manbat scare.
In my 3rd playthrough i heard manbat and immediately took down him down twice, with the help of detective view, so i wasn't surprised by the jumpscare.
That was a pretty neat video, maybe a different challenge for a side activity? Btw, this is nothing compared to the many stupid fetchquests in this game, such as the mines, I hated them so much I only destroyed one in the entire game since the game forced me to.
While I was searching for one of the Professor Pyg victims, heard a weird sound in detective mode and ended up finding manbat flying around. I tackled him did his entire side-mission and never got the jumpscare in the first place.
during the story mode, i have accidentally never gotten a manbat jumpscare because i barely grapple up to buildings and the game geninely forgot because i went like four hours without grappling
I saw someone who did a ton of side quests at the beginning so the jumpscare never happened with the man bat side mission popping up later in the game with him just flying around
Actually first time i played ak I only used the batmobile After the game ended i think man bat glitched and the mission just appeared and activated without even getting the jumpscare I got jumpscared in ng+ for the first time.......an man i peed myself......
I avoided him on my very first playthrough. I caught him flying around when I was on a rooftop. I didn't even know he was in the game and i was so confused
I remember it was like 1 in the morning, and I was tired, but I was just going around beating on crooks, but I go grapple up that building, and man, when that jumpscare happened I accidentally slapped my waterbottle at my wall and also dropped my controller on accident...lol
You can avoid the man that cut scene but when I played it and I didn’t grab onto any buildings, he just was flying around without having the cut scene happen
