Some clarification that I want to add: In one of the QnA's on BAV's channel, Ryan indirectly said that Dick Grayson would not be in the game. So like I said, his character being "set up" could mean that Arkham Batman simply matures more throughout the story and is ready for that kind of thing, or he's just an easter egg/little snippet. Seems highly unlikely that he'll actually show up or play a prominent role, at least based on the info we've gotten so far. Also, I keep seeing people complaining about how the graphics aren't as good as Arkham Knight's, so I just want to say that OF COURSE they aren't as good as Arkham Knight's. This is a VR game on standalone hardware, it's not going to look like Arkham Knight, but all things considered, the graphics actually look REALLY impressive. Plus, when you're actually in VR and not watching a 2d recording of the game, trust me it looks even better lol
This. This is what I want people to see about this game. Every single headline of every previous Arkham game was about feeling like the Batman more and more. And now, like you said, you are Batman. I can't see how you would hate this unless you can't play the game or have motion sickness
@@StorksharkI've had asgards wrath 2 since I got the quest 3 and this single handedly makes me want to actually play it, do I need to play the first one to understand everything that happens?
@@BRNG2042 no there's this realllllly cool prologue that explains everything. Like REALLY cool. Apparently though, if you have asgards wrath 2, they give you asgards wrath 1 for free (only pcvr tho, so if you have a good computer, you can use airlink and it'll be good to go)
@@BRNG2042 I would imagine not, because the first game is only on PC, whereas the second one is a quest exclusive that comes with a lot of headsets as a bundle.
I have to disagree u cant put it in the sam realm as those games. most people don't want to buy a meta quest for this ga.e it will tho go down bigger then half life
@@TurtleMan2023 no just a handful of people like you. It’s weird to watch some gamers get so triggered over VR like it hurt them. Just read the comments you’re already wrong people that wanted to hate it are now talking about getting headset
One overlooked aspect of challenge maps is adding boss fights to certain maps (Zsasz in one of Asylum's maps + Cash and Gordon if you count Joker's DLC, Joker and Black Mask in City DLC, Lady Shiva in Origins Initiation DLC, Killer Croc in Knight). I hope the tradition continues here as well.
Camouflaj knew they needed Arkham-tubers to get behind this game, and boy did they do a good job. If you get the biggest Arkham fans on the internet to endorse this game, it means you've made a pretty good game.
Indeed they invited the VR YoutTubers but lets be honest if you follow them your already getting the game but the Arkham RU-vidrs will give a perspective to people on the fence.
I was pretty mad when I heard it was only on metaquest 3, but damn the gameplay looks incredible, and honestly I always wanted a batman arkham game thats in first person, Im not really a VR guy, but man this game looks amazing!
I find it so funny that when this game was announced, everybody was hating it. Everybody was crying saying why is it virtual reality that’s stupid and nobody trust it after suicide squad but once gameplay started coming out, I feel like everybody’s tone immediately shifted. I had a feeling that this game was going to be amazing because I heard it was done by the same people that made the Iron Man game and this just looks like one of the greatest games of all time.
@@Summon256It will literally be a better experience than a flat screen game from the immersion alone. Playing half life 2 flat vs VR or Resident Evil, most people VASTLY prefer the VR mode. You just seem salty because you don’t have the headset and can’t play it
@@Joe-cy5hm Yes, thank you for telling me to go buy something i have no money for...also how nice of you to assume every country in the world is in the same economic state as your country...the world doesn't revolve around your country, you know...
Genuine question as I'm interested to know. Is it this game alone that has finally tipped you over the edge to buy a Q3? Obviously, you're a big batman fan judging by your avatar alone. I'm asking because I'm subscribed to a few dedicated VR channels and I've watched quite a few videos on this game now. What I've noticed recently reading the comments is that there seems to be a few people who've finally caved in and said that they're getting a Q3 and it seems in large part due to this game. I don't think I've noticed that with any other single VR game in the last 12 months. In other words, Arkham Shadows seems to be morphing into an actual potential system seller. Why do I think this is significant? I've owned a Q3 since last year but I've never played a single Batman game (yes, I'm the black sheep). I think that may change at some point in the future, though with this title. If this game does become a genuine system seller, that's great. More users in the VR and Q3 community means more chance of more AAA titles like this one. Meta has been burning through cash with VR and had losses year after year. If they don't turn things around eventually, things will have to wind down.
@@edturner9670 yes. If it was on PlayStation I won’t ever look at vr. Although I’m a huge Batman fan, I wasn’t on board with this game being vr exclusive until after I’ve seen the 2 interviews, the gameplay trailer and the recent early access reviews. That’s what sold me.
@@MidnightShadowStrikeryou're in for a real treat. Judging by reading hundreds of comments on this, and other Arkham Shadows, trailers there are a lot of ignorant, close-minded people still out there. What you'll discover is that modern VR is shockingly different than what most folks imagine. I don't think most of the community fully comprehend what this game is going to be like. Yes, the videos do a great job explaining the gameplay, but it is impossible to convey the real sense of PRESENCE you will have within the game. You'll be able to look up to the sky and actually see the Bat Signal. You'll actually be punching the enemies with your own fists. You'll tower over some foes and be dwarfed by others. I know you're going to be blown away if you haven't experienced it before. Most of us who have been in VR are incredibly excited to have new folks like you see for yourself. It sure isn't a gimmick - it's more immersive than any other media you've likely ever encountered.
If I'm able to play as Batgirl in this game, I'll go to the store to buy a VR headset just to play this game. She is my second favourite superhero, and I'm currently reading her comics by Gail Simone.
Its probably also because fans have been begging for a new arkham entry for years, and with the sad passing of Kevin Conroy, they chose to respect him by not replacing him, but by bringing the timeline back to Origins where Roger Craig Smith is already canonically Batman
Hearing that we’re finally seeing the start of the robins in the Arkham games makes me so happy! I can’t wait to see how this story goes and if it will maybe set up future Arkham related projects
Wow! I am so glad they pulled together the Arkham community. The VR community guys are really good to watch for what it comes to the VR side of it, but you guys know the lore and the Arkham Games! And Ryan gave you a lot of information! That is so awesome! I would love to see your guys Q&A session! I have been looking at a lot the new videos and trying to make out the Graphic Novels on the coffee table (these guys love their Easter Eggs!) Did they say anything about them? In your video I can see Arkam is the third one... It might not be Arkham without the hand holding for the detective stories... but if I could add one thing to the whole of the Arkham games it would probably be to add some mysteries without the level hand holding... real clues to a mystery where you have to work to solve the crime. Maybe that needs to be a new World's Greatest Detective or Detective Comics game instead.
I really hope the game ends up being more realistic than cartoony. I feel like when you go to “punch” an enemy off a gargoyle for an inverted takedown, I feel like it’d be more realistic and Batman-like to more of grab an enemy, then drop them. Also before you punch an enemy off of a gargoyle, they almost stay there for a second like a cartoon would. I’d much prefer a drop and almost a feared scream of meeting a thought to be rumor. Also the punches in the game seem more of a soft hit than actually punching them. I get how they want to have you hit every punch so you can feel a bit more epic, but I would also prefer almost like Bonelab’s combat where you have to actually hit the enemy, and it feels more realistic how it leaves a mark and it also feels more realistic. If they could take that and just add extra moves such as catching punches thrown at you and having to physically do a triangle square takedown, that would be groundbreaking.
With so many different locations we've seen in the trailers im afraid theres a part of the "mission structure" thats going to be closer to the Iron Man game they made. You start out in the batcave, get a mission and "deploy" (loading screen), when the missions over you're sent back to the batcave. I like the idea if having the batcave, but i dont want to spend more time in there than in Gotham.
hope this studio carries the legacy left by the old rockstedy team , with hopefully a more traditional game (not to far away in the future) and doing the proper research to not make storyline plots collides with the old games
Looks like they actually nailed this game. Ofc we will see when it comes out, but I hope it’s got some good length to the story, some side quests, and a decent sized map. We will see!
Okay, I really appreciate how polished this game looks and how you say it feels, but unfortunately my experiences with VR usage in general (not games related, just straight up health) hasn't been the best and I don't think I'm the only one with this issue, I think a normal arkham PC game would have still be better and let's be real... I guess Suicided squad kinda pissed on the whole arkham storytelling but I guess they could have made an "batman beyond" like game that takes place in between suicide squad and batman arkham knight
i'm glad the devs were able to translate arkham's gameplay into vr, if arkham shadow does well then i think it's about time a certain freindly neighbor hood superhero should recive his own vr game
Just saying great video and also I want to say something unrelated I was playing Fortnite and hiding on top of a tree while watching your video then when your video ended I somehow won so thanks also I am so exited for Batman Arkham Shadow i will 100% be buying it when it releases
I have so much respect for the devs. This is just incredible. When it comes to Riddler, I can't believe that you're disappointed haha. I hated those trophies so much
4:44 I hope they'll make their own story, not just an adaptation because The Dark Knight Returns is not a good Batman comic. The only reason it is so praised is that it influenced superhero media to be darker and more violent. Keaton and Affleck's Batmen did the same thing, only in the movies.
I won’t lie at first, I was really sad by a Batman Arkham VR. I was convinced that it would ruin the license, but when Camouflaj answered Fan Questions for ArkhamVideo, I wasn't worried at all anymore i had a moment of hope and felt some passion, but now that the trailer gameplay is out, I'm really glad I was wrong. This is going to be amazing
I personally think Arkane studios (the people who made dishonored) could make a cool Batman game sense there also making a blade game which is pretty cool
You describing everthing the game has and the footage you provided just made me want to play this game soooo much i am getting my first vr a quest 3 just so i can buy this game i hope this revives the arkham franchise and do it justice instead of a certain game(ssktjl)
I'm an Arkham fan above all else, this was a legitimate Arkham experience, not some paid off promo crap I also just wanna make it clear that we weren't brought out specifically to promote the game, they said that we pretty much represented the Arkham community and wanted our feedback on things that we liked and didn't like after playing the demo, what extra features they could add before launch that Arkham fans would love, and everything else along those lines. Making a video, showing footage, or even just talking about the game in general was encouraged, but it was never required of us. And we definitely weren't bribed like the Ubisoft outlaws creators
I'm not a massive Batman fan; I enjoyed the first season of Telltale's Batman series probably the most, but this game I'm extremely hyped for. Quest Games Optimizer may hopefully add a nice little graphical boost! 🤞🏼
I hope this means that they continue to make traditional 3rd person Arkham games with Roger Craig smith as Batman. He definitely deserves to take up the mantle as Batman’s voice actor after Kevin’s tragic passing. RIP 🕊️
This game looks really cool. The only problem is that I already get motion sickness from playing first person games. I've heard a lot of people say that VR causes motion sickness. So I don't know if I will have a fun time playing this game.
Funny how Batman goes from using this bat logo, then gets a new a one for Asylum, but then goes back to this logo for the rest of his crime fighting career.
