I mean, yeah, those 8 years for Gordon were absolute Hell. A divorce, his daughter being shot and paralyzed by the Joker, constant city wide threats, among other things.
Fun fact about killer croc: when ever he is under extreme stress his body mutates and looks more and more crocodile like. Hence why he looks like mortal kombat 4 reptile.
It's very clear he changes form in every game. I'd say something like "I don't know how he missed that" but I don't think he missed it at all, I just think he's keen for excuses to hate on the game.
The reason why Killer Croc doesn't look the same is because he's still relatively young here. The disease he has makes him more and more reptilian as time passes, however in this game he hasn't had the disease for as long as he did in the other games.
I actually forgot that it was something that got progressively worse, that would then also explain why by the time Knight rolls along he is even crazier looking
@@Nerbit13098 they also fry banes brain at the end of the game to justify him being a dumb brute in future games, honestly this game is a great prequel and gets way more hate that it deserves
@pauloricardo-wn6ps The only complaints I have heard, and that I have is how it js so broken it is especially unplayable on pc, I had to go out of my way to buy a second copy on Wii U just to beat it.
@@Nerbit13098 Man you aren't kidding, I loved the video but it gave me flashbacks of when I had many similar problems playing that game too. Good luck with everything you've got going on and off RU-vid! And if nobody else has asked, I think a Metal Gear video would be sick!
12:45 Fun fact about this section: Arkham Origins had a feature called "Worst Nightmare Challenges", which were small challenges that would give you an upgrade token per challenge completed. Most of these challenges were simple things like: "Perform 3 silent takedowns in a single predator encounter.", or "Pull 2 enemies over different railings at the same time." However the devs decided that the challenges could only be completed linearly, so even if you did exactly what Rank 3 required, it wouldn't count unless Rank 1&2 had been completed. Rank 6 of the predator challenges: "Perform 4 exotic takedowns in one encounter; vent takedown, hanging ledge takedown, corner takedown and explosive gel takedown." can only be completed in this room. So if you didn't already get through Ranks 1-5 by the time you get here, or if you forget to do the challenge in this room, you are unable to progress with the stealth challenges until you start a new game. To add insult to injury: if you bought the 'upgrade' for the explosive gel that makes it auto-detonate when someone walks by, you are unable to complete the challenge. Because the gel will always auto-detonate before a NPC can get close enough to get knocked out by the blast. There's also a challenge to stop a random crime in each of the districts, one of which being the bridge that gets destroyed by Firefly. So if you never got the random event from that section and decided to just play the story, you would also get softlocked.
You can complete consecutive challenges in a predator room though, which is how I side-stepped the worst nightmare lock. So long as it doesn't read "Complete a predator challenge", you can do it and the next one in the same room. Still though, that system is total bullshit.
You actually have three chances to complete rank six of the predator challenges, once in the bank with the Joker goons, then in the bank again in the deadshot mission and finally in the church when confronting black mask, still incredibly stupid, but not as unfair
I think a big reason a lot of people are harsh on Origins is because they forget that it was never intended to be on the same scope as the other three games. It was intended to be a smaller in-between game while Rocksteady finished working on Knight
I get why people don't like Origins but it's still my favourite one because of 3 things : Martial Arts enemies, random crimes and the boss fight with Slade.
That's fair, I believe it has overall the best boss fights in the series (not including Mr Freeze from City) also my personal favourite version of Bane in the series
@@Nerbit13098 I personally don’t see the appeal in the fight with freeze, it seemed like any stealth based boss, sneak attack him one way, oh can’t do that again alright we’ll do it this way and pretty much that until the end. I prefer boss fights from origins anyway
Bro this looked so incredibly painful. Also that absurd charge tracking that Bane has doesn’t go away. In Arkham Knight it happens again and it’s infuriating
Thank you, I'm so happy to know it wasn't just me having trouble with his tracking lol, also if you are curious the total time of all the recordings together is close to 30 hours making it easily the longest challenge by far
I know of a really effective cheese strat for the Deathstroke fight, I discovered it looking for tips to get the don't miss any counters achievement. I know that sometimes just knowing such tactics can ruin the experience so I won't tell unless asked, but it's there if you want it in mind for future playthroughs.
Because it has an actual great story and pretty impressive graphics like its predecessors. It does a great job at introducing some key characters especially Joker and Batman. The weakest link in my opinion is electrocutioner since you don’t get a proper boss fright with him.
@@oz_jones I agree, but then again, this depiction of Joker is probably my favourite in the Arkham series, it's just a shame that Joker was pretty overdone by this point.
@@ChloeGPotter That was probably the biggest issue. Them building the story as 'Batman vs 8 assassins and Black Mask' only to have Joker take over as main villain was irritating for myself. Joker and the story wasn't bad, but the marketing for this game was essentially a big lie.
the concusion detonator is good for the Copperhead fight. Instantly deals with the hallucinations. Made beating her without attack signals enabled much more doable for me.
You know, I remember the combat system being wonky here compared to Arkham City, like the timings weren't *quite* right, making it more difficult to time counters - could that be part of the "horrible reactions time" issue?
I find the counters more responsive in origins compared to city. I mean sure the deathstroke one you have to time it at very specific moments, but I’ve never had an issue with responsiveness.
This was probably done intentionally since this is supposed to be a less experienced Batman and thugs aren't as afraid of him as they would be later on. Batman wouldn't be as good as counterattacks and enemies wouldn't be hesitating to attack nearly as much. Still a bit frustrating to play when you're used to the timing in the other games.
6:20 For those who don't know, during your fight with deathstroke, if he attacks you with those small cutscenes counter (im not sure what to call em) dont spam or even click counter until the slomo or you see the counter prompt, because you would literally get hit. Me and my brother played this so many times and found out about this. So just wait for the chance to counter.
At least you got the Achievement for defeating Deathstroke without failing a counter! Also, does playing with a controller work better than a mouse and keyboard?
Like how in shooters M+KB is more accurate because of the precision you can achieve with mouse movement, in melee focused games where you need to be able to swap between attacking and defending in an instant, the closeness of the face buttons (ABXY/×○□/\) makes it easier to go from attacking to countering, as the buttons are right next to eachother, and for some reason on PC, some games have their keyboard controls spread out more or in awkward positions. Also, keyboard movement is only 8 directions at 45° angles. While controller sometimes allows more freedom of exact movement. Also, in games like dark souls, you can't slow walk on pc
@@frusty7217 I don't really remember. I said "games like dark souls", not neccessarily dark souls itself, it's just what came to mind due to the occasional things that are best done by walking slowly. But thinking about having to hold a key to move slower reminds me of the old Assassin's creed horse controls where you had to hold A/× while moving to go slower.
@@kinorris1709 honestly it the button I usually press for those types of games and it usually works though I also cant really recall how many time I actually use it so I could be wrong
"I almost started beating the Hobo myself. Don't know why, but I did" I'm just imagining Batman saving this poor guy then looking at him enraged for no reason. Like the guy just exudes a powerful "Punch Me" force
I hope you enjoy the video man, it's not my favourite personally but I can see how it definitely could be someones, it's actually my best mates favourite game of all time
With deathstroke, the best method is to be patient. If you counter too early or too late, DS will hit you everytime. Wait for the icon above his head and don't spam counter.
you can get into the ship without fighting the enemies but unfortuantly you can not get spotted if you get spotted it wont work i know all of this from the speedrunning community for this game your welcome nerbit keep up the good work!
Thanks man, didn't know that, that's pretty interesting, I try to avoid stuff like speedruns when doing videos as I feel like if I learn how to skip a lot of stuff it'll take away alot of the challenges of the runs, still though that is pretty interesting
Hey man I just wanted to say that I love your content! You deserve way more attention with the amount effort you put into these videos. Anyway please keep it my friend. I believe in you!
This game is weird in how it is supposed to be Batman's origin, but the player's experience carries over from City without any adjustments. I would've liked to see a bare-bones Batman, but this game is still great
In the death stroke fight the reason you get hit when you click counter is because you aren’t allowed to spam circle or else he will be able to hit you.So you just have to time it right
Honestly never do a game that you dislike again no matter how requested it is. It was so annoying hearing you constantly complain throughout that I tapped like halfway through the video. No one forces you to play games you abhor lmao
I would love to do Spiderman ps4, it would be after I'm done with the Arkham Games of course, actually love that game and now that I've got a capture card it's definitly on the table :)
Honestly this game really isn’t as bad as people say it is in fact it’s one of the most underrated DC games of all time apart from injustice gods among us
The only reason J can see why it gets hate is because it's similar to Arkham City. But other than that, the story is great. I think it has a better story than Arkham City.
I was playing Origins earlier this month but I just got... fed up? I found myself yearning for Asylum and City, so I uninstalled it and started them instead. Just a general comment before I dive in. Looking forward to seeing how you do, and congrats on 10k!
@@Nerbit13098 There are things I do like about it, but it just doesn't scratch that Batman itch the same way the others do. I don't know if it's tone or what, but it feels so disconnected from Asylum and City in a major way. Even Knight, as different as that game is, feels more faithful.
@@CrimsonKnight77 I totally understand what you mean, I think my two favourite things about Origins are the Deathstroke fight, as it is probably the closest the series has got to a solid combat boss fight where you are on equal footing and I also love Bane's characterisation in this game, I like the fact that he isn't just a mindless meat head and is actually incredibly clever
Somehow I got the Deathstroke No Hit trophy during my first try on ‘I Am the Knight’ mode and didn’t realise until it popped up as I was just focused on not dying (which happened 3 times, all close to the end of the game)
It’s not that this game is bad, it’s just that the other games are such masterpieces that this one can’t possibly measure up to them. This game does do some interesting things, like the crime scene stuff, gadgets and Deathstroke fight. It’s the worst game in the series, yes, but it’s still a solid 7/10 IMO. It just couldn’t ever compare to the Rocksteady games; especially considering it’s short development time.
I honestly enjoyed this game quite a bit, but I am somewhat of a completionist but I absolutely despised the challenge maps, particularly the combat ones, I found them to be really demanding. Edit: The games after asylum clearly did not get play tested before release, because I would come across some kind of glitch about every 10 minutes.
Origins is better than Knight and it's not even particularly close. I will die on this hill. Or detonate a nuke and fake my own death to go do tourism with some girl I just met.
Thank you, it's more like a theoretical thing like since I know that you can get through every encounter without any damage it means then someone could technically do it in one sitting if they were good enough at the game, that's not me however lol
You my friend are going to be happy to know that is on my list of videos to do, a metal gear video is long overdue for the channel for how much it gets brought up in the videos
I hate to say this but origins isn’t that bad, it was just made by an inexperienced game company and was only put out to keep the fans occupied until Knight, so you can’t hate on it too much. I happen to like origins for what it is.
Just saying u should do challenges on CyberPunk 2077 because it is very similar to Fallout and it may be glitchy and sometimes aids but it’s fun nonetheless
This game is so boring, Deathstroke and Firefly are the only parts I enjoy and even Deathstroke is still overrated. I subbed just because it's nice to see someone else that doesn't like this one. Also I enjoy your videos.
@@CayeDaws Why is doing a no fast travel run makes the game unplayable ? Just don't do it , And how is Deathstroke overrated ? This game is is not only underrated , but overhated
I know I'm 10 months late, but man I'm so impressed with your videos! The time and effort you put into them is just amazing! That's not even mentioning how much laughter it brought! I was losing it, and the, "(gasp) It's Twoface..." had me in tears! I was dying! So funny. Even after I put my phone down and was trying to sleep, I continued to laugh just thinking about it! Sorry for the big rant, but just had to say thank you for the entertainment and the laughs! Wish ya the best man! Keep it up! #subbed
i remember doing a no hit run for specifically up to the point of the deathstroke fight. no resets to that point, and then about 13 resets from just that fight alone until i finally finished without being hit, i gave up and just took that as my win.
been watching your vids for a while now. you deserve way more subs than you have. thanks for putting out great content that me and my friends love man.
The loading screens in this game aren’t that long for when I play but they take 2 minutes when I play Arkham city even though this game has a bigger map then Arkham city weird right?
got the same impression i had play arkhan city in a very low pc, and o boy, that lag...i have to play on minimum. When i get Origins i play softly with no problems even in high. I think that Origins is better optimised than City.
"can you beat fallout NV with only This Machine" (unique only) No companions, of course. This is a true challenge. You'll have to reach a certain level (15, I believe)and have a decent reputation just for the option to get access for the series of mini quests required to be awarded "this machine". There is an easier way requiring 50 science, but I expect you to take the hard way if possible. Third time posting, please
Besides the weird bugs, and the kind of ugly gotham (the white snow let me without any sense of direction, that i have on Arkhan City) it was a pretty great game.
Would love to see you do like mad max or sleeping dogs no damage runs, think they'd fit your video structure well (maybe not mad max, but for sure sleeping dogs)
Sadly I've still yet to play the mad max game, I honestly forgot about it for years because it released the same day as Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and I'm like a huge Metal Gear nerd so all of my focus was on that, from what I have seen though it looks like a game I would enjoy
@@fobo3361 yeah chances are I will get to it eventually, but before that I've gotten a lot of requests to also do no damage runs of Spider-Man ps4 and Shadow Of Mordor due to them also being similar games
@@TASM7862 that's good to here, I'm not expecting the video to do as well as the recent fallout videos but that doesn't bother me, as I said I made this for all the long time fans who have been waiting nearly half a year lol
Amazing video mate, so glad I found your channel. Oh yeah, Killer croc looks the way he does in the game because he's really young here, and his condition hasn't progressed quite far yet, like in other games where you can see how it progressively gets worse over time with each game
FInally arkham origins. Next up arkham knight. I assume with the batmobile sections, especially the assault on the police department part it's gonna be a goddamn nightmare for you. Assuming you won't exclude damage taken while in the batmobile.
22:37, nice detail of the papers moving on the floor, but they just do not care about water physics in 20:23 I guess Great video though, cannot wait for Arkham knight, and death to the kool aid man
I would love to, I really like the Middle-earth games but before I get to them I will need to do Knight and then after that a lot of people have suggested Spider-Man ps4 so after I beat Knight I'll probably put up a poll between Spider-Man and Middle-Earth to see which one I should do first :)
