In case one doesn't know: In DS1 and 3, you look at the chain of the mimic. If the chain is pointing backwards, away from you, it's a normal chest. If the chain however is pointing AT YOU, it's a nom nom box and you should whack it.
Whoaaaa, the sudden transition to a cooking show format is SUPER UNIQUE, I truly wish more challenge-runners would do that, like, even if they don't film it, they should slap on a picture of a meal on screen. Gamers and home-cooking aren't found in the same sentence that often! Double points for FILMING the process of cooking - and then editing it! It's harder than it looks, if one has never tried it!
your editing and audio is such good quality i genuinely didn't realise you were such a small channel. keep up the good work! may you be blessed with many more subs!
DS2 being my first souls game years ago, I have genuinely developed a slight PTSD from those mimics in particular so much so that to this day I still think I hear that wheezing laugh
I don't know if you didn't realised, but Queelag's attack from 9:29 is a super rare attack that even people who have played the game a lot of times have never seen.
There's actually a "lost and found" chest in firelink shrine. It's located in the water area where frampt appears. I'm unsure if the mimic drops are protected in this way but it's an almost unknown feature in the game. Check the chest before going hollow over lost items
There's some exceptions to the rule that non-scaling weapons become noobtraps/trash fast. The dragon ultra greatsword and the dragon king greataxe are two of the best weapons in the game. haha. Loved the cooking sessions but wew, that's a breakfast that would keep me satiated for the entire day.
queelag was for me actually second boss because i took master key and somehow made it through blightown with +0 longsword it took me arou 15attemps to kill her
I thought the cooking bit was gonna be a hello fresh ad but when I realized you were literally just making some food I actually laughed out loud this was a great video
Maybe im being overly specific on the rules, but if you were allowed to upgrade the lightning spear, could you not degrade the occult club, and then max it to +15? Its still the same weapon, just a swapped upgrade path, and itd be much better.
Did you even upgrade the Falchion? I know there's an easily accessible blue slab before Artorias and blue chunks are probably the easiest ones to farm out of the 4 types. Don't think you had any significant amount of int but Enchanted DOES get some decent scaling, in general
I don't understand why you got the crystal halberd before occult club, they are both in Anor Londo, so you wouldn't break any rules. I think you just did it for the run to be more interesting. Btw you calling the damage on O&S abbysmal reminded me of my straight sword hilt run :D
Because of the ruleset for the challenge. Once he’s entered an area with a Mimic he cannot leave until he kills the mimic so he can’t just run past the Crystal halberd in favor of getting the club first!
@@Faesworn as I said, both are in Anor Londo, which is the same area, he could have got the occult club, then go back for the halberd and after that leave the area
I think you’re missing the point. The goal of the rule was so that he didn’t have to run PAST the Mimic. I think you need to think smaller “area” If he sees a mimic he must kill it before moving on. Regardless of it we can mental gymnastics our way into believing they are in the same area one clearly comes first. The Crystal Halberd is found as soon as you get to anor londo. I think the rule was clearly supposed to be more like if you find a mimic don’t leave the damn building that mimic is in until it’s dead.
@@Faesworn I get the point, but in the video he was talking like "I hate this, if only I could not use this weapon", I just say that by his own rules he didn't have to use it...
since you were allowing yourself to upgrade the weapons why not let yourself downgrade weapons? you could have made the occult club into divine +5 so Nito would be much easier. also why were you 1 handing the enchanted falchion? you 2 handed with the occult club when you had the shield so if you 2 handed with the falchion your damage would have been significantly better with seath, nito, firesage and centipede
You can ignore me as even I understand that I look like one of those "AKSHUALLY" guys, but I'd advise you to try making rules simpler, good for your experience with the run and for content and not to add unnecessary secondary rules. A win with an asterisk doesn't feel as good as a win without one
Why didn’t you kill the occult club mimic first? Then you could have killed the crystal halberd for the most part. Don’t think that breaks any of your rules
