Ive played all games but 4 and i didnt know people hated 2 so much until after i played. Why do people hate 2? Ive heard a lot about the mission with the tanks and helicopters, my least favorite mission, was bad and i wanna know if theres more wrong with it. The only thing i really hated about 2 was the final bossfight against all the past bosses that are just squished together
@@frostyelwood9898Typing all the flaws here would take forever so I'll just give some bullet points. -sluggish combat and animations -gun spam was the optimal way to play which was very boring -stale bosses -edgy dante is edgy and not what we asked for -camera was the biggest piece of shit on the planet -auto lock on messed people up constantly and made hitting certain objectives close to impossible -infested chopper and tank will go down as the worst bosses in dmc -final boss wasn't that memorable -buying moves replaced with just upgrading the damage of weapons -Compared to dmc 1 it was a straight downgrade which is horrible for a sequel -the game was so badly made it almost killed the franchise -no variety in weapons. They all did the same thing which was not the case for the weapons in dmc 1 So in short. It basically took everything that made dmc 1fun and removed it while doubling down on the bad stuff (repetitive bosses, bad camera, etc). Hope you understand it a bit more

Crazy how while Guns are kinda weak they are also the most broken. DMC4 had Pandora and if you used the minigun among your aerial combos you would eventually just open the box and clear a room. Now in DMC5 you can spend 3 IRL dollars worth of Blood Orbs to win the game.
@@Cerise__ that last part was a bit of a joke. It’s not about “how can you deal with the DMC5 economy” but rather that the max level Blood orb meteors requieres what Capcom deemed worthy of being 3 dollars.

I havent been able to play DMC due to a spinal injury because i get flares of pain in my back and arms when i use a controller. Its been really nice to be able to watch people play to kind of scratch the itch. Thank you for the great content

Well that was painful. Anyway, here's a (useless) tip. You can charge shotgun's Charged Shot and it will proc on Gunslinger moves. Which is ofc Gun Stinger, the first shot of Fireworks etc. The fun part is with the slide/roll moves of Cut In. The time it takes Dante to complete a roll and fire the shotgun is just enough time for CHarged Shot to charge up, so by holding the fire button and doing Cut Ins you have increased damage output.
@@slkjvlkfsvnlsdfhgdght5447 Because the increase in damage is marginal and rarely useful for DPS purposes. The bonus is also move dependent. One attack might get an extra 75 damage, another - 67. IIRC Gunstinger does 150 damage and 225 with Charged Shot. Shotgun in DMC5 is far more useful for its crowd control capabilities than its damage. Or to be completely honest - at least I personally haven't found a situation where it is preferable to something like Kalina Ann or charged Ebony & Ivory for dealing damage. You can test it out in The Void and experiment with what the damage numbers are. If you find a use for it in your gameplay - that's cool. Glad I could point it out to people.
@@vul4ak +67-75 isn't "marginal". and from what i remember gunstinger deals 250 damage and by "crowd control" do you mean that it hampers enemy movement or something like that?
This was so insanely well made. Great video and cool run. 5's gunslinger moveset seems like it could be pretty fun to do something like this with on the lower difficulties maybe, so you don't have to rely as much on lasers, multi-rockets and hysterics, all of which are too slow to really look cool imo.

While we're trying to squeeze in as much deeps on Vergil as possible: Generally the biggest source of free damage in even normal circumstances for me has always been jump-guarding anything I could. If you do it well and quick enough, you can immediately fire a buckshot, and have your landing cancel the end lag so you can fire twice per guard before he teleports. It's often enough to actually get a juggle on him while he's in SDT.
...God Nero is borderline unfair for using ng+ That lv 3 variant of the charge shot... Edit: so I learned something genuinely stupid about Dr Faust not many people know about it against vergil. Magic hat and man in the red while in devil trigger gives you a bit of temporary super armor, and vergil cannot seem to block man in the red if you walk up close to him. If you try to get up close and just sit idly by in dt mode, you will do some deceptively stupid damage to dt vergil

watching your run honesty makes me appeciate how well made dantes firearm moveset really is , especially compared too dmc4 and man I AM SO GLAD that more people get too learn that hysteria has some uses , it can also shred a behemoths health bar if you do a hysteria in front off their tongues (Which is the reason why your laser deleted the behemoths Health bar even with DT cause behemoths take a way more damage when you aim at their tongue) i seen people do some gun only runs in this game but yours was really fun too watch especially with it being played with only dante And hey i will be using Shot stars now with dante cause thats a really fun tech
Fun challenge! One of my favorite DMC5 creators was Alan Conqvist who did a whole bunch of guides on snall mechanics. He did one for Ebony and Ivory and solo used it for one of the higher BP floors. The one with the elite enemies.
Honestly, I think Nero could work if you allow things like Tomboy’s buff to Blue Rose, Punch Line for tracking enemies and potentially breaking shields, Gerbera for movement and the big Fuck you laser, and (if available) the Mega Buster for general use shooting and combo-ing with Blue Rose. (This would, of course, mean planning out Devil Breakers much more carefully for each mission, since you have to destroy devil breakers in order to cycle through the loadout and the ones found throughout missions are not guaranteed to be the ones you need.) V on the other hand… I’ve got nothing. You could possibly exclude him because he technically has to use a Melee weapon to finish off demons, but that’s up to personal preference.
pretty sure someone did a run of only ranged attacks and used nero and v, but they included things like dante's sdt ranged attacks which are obviously op af

So for mission prologue: equivalent to to trying to fight a green emposa, fairly easy. Mission 1: equivalent to trying to fight a devil hunter difficulty hellcana Mission 2: 4 antanoras playing monopoly, equivalent to playing games with demons that you only know will go down hill later on, that being the goliath fight. Mission 3: shooting a fly with a shotgun. Something you would thing would be easy, but provided an actual challenge. Mission 4: checking your shot for worms, actually surprisingly challenging, you would have to cut down most spaces of distraction. Mission 5: horse, but spookier. Seemed normal, but get worse when you realise what you're up a against. Mission 6: sweet surrender can opener. I got nothing. Mission 7: chewing a brick wall, but the wall has as sword and also hates you. Unnecessarily long and challenging. Mission 8: elevator music. Long, just long. Mission 9: dudes, pretty chill experience. Mission 10: chaos the hedgehog, as impactful as shredding up the road sonic the hedgehog style. Mission 11: bringing a gun to a sword fight. Laughably overprepared. Mission 12: Vergil - V = ergil. Equivalent to trying to explain a silly joke. Mission 13: falling a down well. In for a bad time going straight down without a plan. Mission 14: Dr wileys Castle. Looks threatening, but more bark than bite. Mission 15: birdo! Meme challenge in the end. Mission 16: playing fetch with a rocket launcher. REALLY FUCKING HARD! Mission 17: sitting on sandpaper conveiabelt with hemmeroids. Absolute torture. Mission 18: vacation on malay island, relaxed enough that you could even take a break on a murde island. Mission 19: fucka you, really difficulty but a relief after coming up with a winning strategy. You will need to be creative to beat him. Mission 20: im finally free. Not to hard, and a relief to get it done with.
For M19: DT shotgun at point blank can stagger/launch SDT Vergil while he’s recovering from his attacks. He will resist around 2 shots before get launched by third one. Then, just spam at point blank range until knock back or he start guarding at low health. Note that interrupting Vergil(by staggering him or parrying his attacks) will make him stay in SDT longer and delay his flight and final combo(the one where he charge like flight move before start attacking)
In my opinion, and this applies to every challenge in any game ever, crashes should never count as a death. Most crashes are by no means your fault (unless it was deliberate like installing a faulty mod) so it shouldn't count as anything. Except maybe time loss because you can't really fix a stopwatch without resetting the whole thing...
You have a lot of patience. This was an amazing challenge run. One thing I would like to say is that the challenge would have been a lot smoother if you incorporated cascade into fights instead of mega-cascade.
for a little explanation on 14:01 the way the big Laser with Double Kalina Ann works is basically a "piercing" type of damage (you can see it against Proto Angelo's blocking) when paired with Behemoths taking double damage to the face when their armor breaks, it's likely that the Laser did the normal damage, plus the double damage
Now that's what I call a gun running operation. Faust, Double Kalina and Coyote-A were amazing. Too bad for the cameo appearances of the Bee Hive, I mean, Honey Comb. I mean the bees. Sorry, I meant Ebony & Ivory.
Ok so: I got this new DMC plot. 1) It starts with vergil and dante just going to town on each other ((PAUSE)) 2) All of a sudden a rip in the underworlds sky opens 3) Dante goes "What in the crap happened?" 4) Virgin- I MEAN VERGIL goes "A tear opened up you fool" 5) Dante go pew pew and nothing happens 6) the tear closes by exploding 7) they go back to fighting The end
