We did King's Field magic only..
..Let's do Eternal Ring with NO MAGIC.
Eternal Ring is a first person game with a heavy focus on magic in the combat. There are no build choices, you are supposed to play as a mage.
This game takes the established dungeon crawler format of King's Field, and gives it a more colourful, magical spin. Similarly to how they took the Souls formula and gave it a horror spin with Bloodborne.
We'll see if it's actually possible to win without using spells in combat, and if there's any enemy or situation that will block us from finishing the game.
(this game is nothing to do with Elden Ring)

Powerful and functional immortality but was naive to a horrifying degree until that moment.

fun fact the japanese version has no voice acting and instead of a ring that lets you see invisible items it gives you a haste ring to let you sprint faster. this also implies that the voice acting may have been a laster minute scramble for western attention cuz a lot of games in the west tried voice acting at least a little during that time period. Fun fact 2: if you don't buy your sword back you can get it back for free when the village get's jrpg'd Fun fact 3: This game shares a composer with elden ring you can hear improvement in his art. Fun fact 4: Ring of sacrifice is clearly a callback with dark souls to this game Fun fact 5: Golden seed was here first then in eternal ring. Fun fact 6: Day night cycle is literally only used to steal something from a guy unless those time of (element here) actually effects your spells or enemy power.

@@BlinJe yes but a lot of trivia i found on my own. Still really wanna know if that time system was actually meant to have a purpose involving elemental damage tho. Been kinda obsessed with old fromsoft lately cuz my computer refuses to handle a ring that is elden. Wonder how shadow tower abyss plays tho Also iirc you can't steal the sword if you bought his other sword and given him the bracelet according to some old gamefaqs and other shenanigans.

unbelievable how wholesome that ending was. it was very rough, esp the VAs, but man i felt warm hearing what Cain did after saving his kingdom the 1 person at fromsoft mustve pushed really hard for a good end like this XD

Man. I remember wanting to play this so badly as a young lad. I got one of those gaming magazines which really hammed it up. Had a literal entire list of the rings available in the game. I wish Fromsoft would do a remake of this one. I can only imagine what they could do with this concept with the strides they've made in game design at this point.

Melee combat makes a comeback lategame with the animated sword spell it just removes the cooldown on melee attacks(and makes you hit four times in succession). Just a little tidbit. Also sword rings the strength increasing ones are actually craftable by mixing light and dark with other elements it's those dual element rings again effectively. Also the game implies with the get through before nigthfall the fact you start in the time of fire and the enemies are water is that the time based system may determine enemy power but im not sure.

I stumbled across your channel after looking up some 8-bit and 16-bit games that people hate for some reason (I quite enjoyed these two in particular: Caveman Games and Cyborg Justice). Through the magic of fuzzy logic and going down the rabbit hole, here I am! The way you speak of these old Fromsoft games really makes me wanna check them out. Love the deadpan humor. @@BlinJe Can't steal the sword if you hand over the bracelet. The game will only let you have one of them. Can't have both. Also, a number of earth magic rings tend to raise strength which will effect your melee damage.

I recently saw the box art randomly on Facebook and memories of early primary school came back. Never getting past the first level, selling it for a fiver at a car boot sale despite some haggling mom trying to buy it for 2 pound, being sad when I actually wanted to play it. @@BlinJe already finished the run you probably meant Hallow mage, Just heal tank the explosion fields, you can even use the shields a bit there. In the end I had tons of gear 4000+sp, and about 50 hp potions
