You cannot break or place blocks in adventure mode, but can you beat the game? Possibly. Where I get my music: www.epidemicsound.com/referra... Epidemic sound referal link ⬆
Today I learned that they changed adventure mode. I remember when you used to be able to break blocks as long as you had the correct tools. Host privileges on the console versions were much better than this, as you could choose them separately rather than only all or none of them.
Well I mean it makes sense the point of adventure mode is for adventure maps and map creators can just choose what blocks they want breakable or what tools useable with comaned blocks
minecraft in adventure time is terribly nostalgic, probably because my oldest memories with the game are from when I didn't know about crafting and mostly just walked and looked at the landscapes. Seeing the crafting table in the spruce village rekindles that childlike joy of discovery.
When I first played Adventure mode I was under the impression it gave minecraft a more "Realistic" feel. You needed the roght tools for the right things and only certain things were limited. Never knew they changed it
Man woke up on Halloween and said to himself, “You know what? I’m gonna beat Minecraft on adventure mode and make it so other people can watch me do it. Yeah, that’s actually a good idea!” And he did it.
Rekrap: I switched versions so I wouldn't have to cheat to make a portal Also Rekrap: So I used spectator mode to find where the stronghold and portal room is
adventure mode was originally made for custom maps with a plot and all... and you my good sir have pushed the limits of adventure mode and beaten the game! well done
He did cheat, but only in a small way. If he built the nether portal by a tree then it would be 100% ok, but he didn’t and you can tell he cheated by the fact that he placed a crafting table behind the nether portal he built after switching versions. Anything flammable would allow the fire to spread and that’s what lit the portal, but because he didn’t make the portal near anything flammable he just placed a crafting bench because nobody thinks twice of it. It was subtle and could have been avoided but still considered cheating
@@davit4005 Replay mode is almost 100% necessary he would have spent an additional 3 days blowing up creepers in the wrong area to get to the portal.. The 1.4.2 mechanic of using flint and steel lit the portal but I do see he placed the crafting table.. It's still a really cool video tho. To give him credit world/version conversion is REALLY hard to do "safely"
Little correction: every version of Minecraft after 1.4.2 and before 1.8 allowed you to use a bucket (and place and break blocks using the correct tools) Would love to see a "defeat Minecraft on adventure mode" video in 1.7!
Technically there is a way to make a nether portal in newer versions of mc although it would be EXTREMELY tedious. You would have to calculate creeper blasts to make water and lava flow to the proper blocks and then have lightning strike the portal. And then when you inevitabely spawn on a 3x2 platform over a lava lake you rage quit and rethink all your life decisions.
@@neeltendulkar612 maybe the lightning strike has to be near it so that fire may spark on a near burnable block like how the wood being near a nether portal has a chance to open the portal
The console edition has an exclusive feature where you can use tools in adventure mode but they must be only for the right blocks: Dirt, sand, gravel; Shovel Stone: Pickaxe
@@omniscientbarebones I remember that you can start a new world on survival and then change the your gamemode to adventure without cheats If I remember correctly For console Either version
Its videos like these that make me remember how long I've been playing minecraft for since I still remember when you could trade for eyes of ender from villagers negating the need to go to the nether entirely since that was how I use to gather them to fight the enderdragon
@@yveltalsea Wrong, up until version 1.8 you could break and place blocks aslong as you had the right tool. This was only changed after version 1.8 The single version thing is about using the bucket.
imagine having a creative world where you and your friends build stuff and everyone else can view it in adventure mode. and this guy comes along and finds a way to destroy the whole thing IN adventure mode
I watched this when it came out and i just now rewatching it remembered a way to get to the end without putting eyes in the portal. In a April fools update if you tossed a book into a portal it would become a new dimension there was a book that would put you in the end. I don't know all the details but it would be cool if you beat minecraft again in adventure mode.
When I saw this, I was thinking "Yeah, this is barely a challenge." Then I learned that Adventure mode was changed in 1.8 to what it is now. Pre 1.8 you could break blocks with the correct tool type, ie only wood with an axe, only dirt with a shovel, only stone with a pickaxe, etc etc, and you could place blocks fine. Kind of miss the old adventure mode
i remember the adventure mode Mod before mojang took part of it and made it official like they tended to do with popular mods back in the day it came with the ability to script stuff way before command blocks and add custom cinematic cameras and what not
@@annika6592 You wouldn't go to nether? Just locate end portal given the world seed and then travel there (could manually calculate or use world seed viewer like amidst). Probably better if stronghold and end dimension spawn have access without breaking blocks.
You have made a really good research, also there's a fun fact: in old versions of minecraft you can buy eyes of ender from villagers, so there is no need to even enter the nether, but yea, minecraft on adventure mode is basically not beatable on a random seed above version 1.7
@@gabrielbarros493 yes, of course, but chance of finding this is already pretty low, and we also have to remember that you have to find the stronghold somehow... I think we can clearly say that no one will even try looking for open portal seed, making this category only doable on a set seed
i cant believe that thing where you can break stuff with the correct tools in adventure mode was a 1.4 thing. I remember doing that on adventure maps on hypixel lMAO
The reason why you couldn't light the portal on 1.4.2 was because you didn't fill in the corners. For some reason you had to do that in the older versions 💀That would mean you could actually beat Adventure Mode on 1.4.2
@@lastboss4268 You didn't specify it was Beta 1.7.3 you just said 1.7.3, and I went back to 1.4.2 and indeed, cornerless portals are a thing, and I have found that the problem was that he had 2 obsidian blocks infront of the portalframe
So it IS technically possible... just convoluted as all hell and requires older versions. An interesting sidenote: You CAN place Eyes of Ender into End Portal Frames in Adventure Mode if you set their NBT data correctly. You know how some adventure maps let you place blocks but only on specific other blocks? Same principle applies to the Eyes, even though they aren't traditional blocks.
Good Thing I saw this. My adventure map requires you to obtain 12 Eyes of Ender from dungeons & quests but I need to add the command for them be allowed to be placed on portal frames.
Remember it that way too but never played it outside of adventure maps. Thinking about it makes more sense though. Would be easier i guess to say it can break stone instead of it can't break anything stone but normal stone
This first man to step through the nether without cheating I adventure mode. A true milestone in minecraft history, I meant as far as we know with video proof
I was soo confused for the first half of the video sicne I started playing *exactly* at 1.4.2 and didn't know what adventure mode was, but that was how I played for a few days before my friend told me that it's not the default way to play. I didn't know that using proper tools was ever removed and I was incredibly frustrated that he didn't just use that gold axe in his inventory to chop trees >.
Yeah this new version of adventure mode is supposed to be used for adventure maps. It's not really a normal gamemode anymore. I wish they kept the old adventure mode as an option too though
I’ve been playing Minecraft since 2012 and didn’t know about old adventure mode. I never played it because I assumed it was just for adventure maps and you couldn’t break any blocks or anything.
@@mariaxr.7281 I was a little upset at the changes when they first made them (in 1.8), but it's way better for map creators, because you can prevent players from destroying things that aren't meant to be destroyed. And, as someone who enjoys Minecraft commands and datapacks, I am very grateful for the change. That said, it would be cool if the old version was still playable. Maybe I'll look into making a datapack to add it back...
Technically, if you found a perfect seed with an exposed stronghold and an exposed portal room that has 12 eyes, you could beat Minecraft in Adventure mode. :) Edit: Wow this comment has blown up.
The first and last time I played Adventure mode was in Minecraft 1.4, so the challenge seemed incredibly confusing to me since I've always thought it was possible to place blocks and destroy materials with the right tools till this day
You did it a better way then any other youtuber I have seen. I wanted to play adventure mode but decided since I can't break blocks and I don't like survival unless its in peaceful mode I will not be playing it. Plus I don't want to go through the hoops of getting it to work for me. I don't understand why mojang or whoever put this mode in the game actually left it in the game if your not able to break any blocks or place any blocks. That Is not an adventure that is torture. That is mojang laughing at you.
Minecraft tip: when a fox steals any valuable to you item, drop it some food (preferably sweet berries) and it will swap the item for it! No need to chase the fox
The problem with the items is that Minecraft used to use a numeric ID system (which also happened to lead to some cool glitched items you could get, but I digress). At some point they switched to using namespaced String IDs like minecraft:stone and minecraft:egg.
