Just completed this challenge. The 4th gym was a goddamn nightmare. Was unable to beat that damn manectric until lvl 48. Made other gyms much easier. The elite 4 were also a bitch. Had to lvl to 98 to beat the elite 4 and then Wallace. Almost did it at lvl 88 but Wallace and that damn hyperbeam. Victory never tasted so sweet.

Trainer: "Surely Mudkip can't beat the Elite 4 on it's own." Mudkip: **Stares in copious amounts of drugs.** "MUD. KIP."

04:54 - Actually a Japanese RU-vidr also tried the Mudkip-only challenge and he got around the castform obstacle with an ingenious move: 1. Get two Pokémon eggs from the old lady at Lavaridge town and the Pokebox feature 2. Trade it for 1 male and 2 female Mudkip 3. Have them bang and make more Mudkips until you have a full party of Mudkips 4. With a full party, the scientists can’t give you castform In the end, he legitimately finished the game with *ONLY* Mudkip in his Pokédex! Edit: For everyone asking...yes...he went through the whole game with just ONE Mudkip and defeated the Elite 4 with it. He did not use a whole party of mudkip. The point is, this guy SUPERIOR TO ALPHA. Ok ?

If you think about it, the fact that you only need four HMs to pass victory road and they give you a free pokemon just so you can challenge the double battle gym tells that someone in initial QA testing must’ve done this exact same method and the devs put in these failsafes to prevent soft locking. Kinda ingenious ngl

I recreated this challenge trying to do it at a lower level and beat it with mudkip starting E4 at level 69. Definitely took a few tries to get lucky enough. Also, mudsport was heaven sent for Wattson

Same happened to me on my emerald playthrough on my way to mauville i found a shiny poochyena and caught it for my own pleasure and now it's an overleveled shiny mightyena

I feel like pokemon evolving is like their DNA unraveling and rearranging into new DNA, so I'm gonna guess the DNA being shoved back together hurts a pretty good amount

Wow. I absolutely adored this style of video. It constantly had me entertained and everything flowed so well it felt like nothing ever seemed out of place or repetitive. The animations were short, but very good and entertaining and it felt like they added a lot to the video. Your commentary also really livened things up, as the jokes didn't seem forced and you talked at a pace that was quick, but easy to understand. There was no point in the video where I felt lost or confused, and it was just overall an amazing video. I would really, really love to see more videos in this style, however I know that this type of content takes an immense amount of work, so I definitely don't expect them to come out constantly. tl;dr I love this style and you did incredible Alpha
